The graphic was also changed. The old line said with the accompanying graphic is SLIGHTLY inaccurate, because a screen filmed at that speed, enough to see the line drawn, the light from the top would not have persisted as long. To say the top light is "disappearing" isnt exactly true, because at that speed, it's already gone. The difference between both lines is so incredibly, INCREDIBLY minor, I am surprised someone said something. If there wasnt a graphic to go along with it, I'm not sure someone would have said anything.

The whole idea was met with massive backlash, and rightfully so; after reaching tier 3 the user unlocked the ability to "mass flag" videos, without ever even watching them. The video has since been deleted, but there are re-uploaded versions out there. Another controversial part of the video was the slide encouraging the 'youtube heros' to "Report negative content". Apparently youtube agreed that the wording was very poor, because the slide was changed after a bit of time to "Report inappropriate videos accurately". No annotations, no re-uploading; youtube just decided that they didn't like the video they had posted, so they replaced it with a slightly edited one. That wasn't even the only edit, either. I believe there was another one correcting "Help moderate community content" to "Help moderate content in the RUclips Heros community". Regardless, the changes to the video make youtube's opinion extremely clear; they might make the rules, but they don't feel the need to abide by them. They are above every other user on the platform.
in all seriousness, by now RUclips ought to have at least some function for cases like this where you can submit a very tiny video edit and have RUclips staff approve it without messing up the view count etc

THEY HAD the functionality a decade ago, with annotations. But those have been permanently eliminated as a feature with nothing to replace its use case.

There's probably no edit. Simply a plastic bag being blown by ceiling vent or balanced precariously on the edge of the desk. After all, we can't see the bag's stationary frames on the desk, can we?

You know, that's really less of a VFX thing, and more of a computer science technique. The tool just has to be trained, and it does everything for you. The behind the scenes process is really complicated deep learning, but I think I can give you a quick overview here. In short, Google has/d a time machine that they use to send the video you'd like to deep-fake to skynet in the future over and over again, until it gets sick of the constant spam, and just retouches the entire thing. It gets back at them by re-directing all the terminators that would have attacked John Connor to assault the facility to destroy their time machine. As a result, the time machine is retroactively erased from existence in our time-stream, and so is skynet, when John Connor wins the future war. All that remains is your completed deep fakes.

@@jasonnikolic It's not his fault. Remember when he first came to the internet, his goal was all about debunking paranormal/hoax videos in an effort to educate how it was done, and _why_ you should be skeptical.
The reason why he doesn't do more is because, well, we don't fall for things easily anymore. _We_ as the majority audience, are more skeptical than ever, and brush many things off as "fake," or "hoaxed."
What CD is doing, by shifting his craft to other topics/segments, he's doing what every content creator should do. _Don't_ continue to beat a dead horse and try something new. Instead of debunking very painfully obvious hoax videos, he's now educating us on standard industry film techniques and technologies, or going behind the scenes with how creative industries work their craft.
Sure, I miss the old days of him debunking videos, but... I've grown up, and so has he.

The joke there is that the backdrop is expensive (and they really are) but is already ruined by gaff tape (glue), has a cut in it, and now there's water damage.
