  • Industria Kielce 🆚 Barça Handball Highlights EHF Champions League 2024
Industria Kielce (POL) vs Barça (ESP) 28:32 (13:17)
    GROUP B
A Barça player who is set to move to Poland next season was the key factor in their match at Kielce: top scorer Melvyn Richardson, who joins Orlen Wisla Plock in 2025. Netting six times in the first half, the French Men's EHF EURO 2024 gold medallist was instrumental for Barça's 17:13 lead at the break. Another main asset was Emil Nielsen, who clearly won the goalkeeper duel against Kielce’s Sandro Mestric. From 14:11, the gap remained three or four goals. Even the strong support from the many yellow-dressed fans in the stands did not help the hosts in their efforts to turn the match around. When Aleix Gómez converted a penalty for 27:22 with nine minutes to go, Barça’s third win of the season and their 10th in 15 matches against Kielce was a done deal. Kielce, though, remain on two points after their second consecutive defeat.
My team did as much as possible. I never speak about injuries, but it is a difficult time for us. Michal Olejniczak is sick, Igor Karacic got injured yesterday, Cezary Surgiel also. Group B is very difficult, everyone can beat everyone.

    Head coach, Industria Kielce
It was an intense match. Our goalkeepers were more effective than Kielce’s; it was difficult to score against them. We lost too many balls in attack, but our goalkeepers kept the score. Kielce are a good team, wining here is not easy. We do our best to fight for the first position after the group phase.
