- ALF is now into gardening, which means he's turned over the entire Tanner backyard. Willie has a problem at work: a lost Mexican boy is at his office and Willie is trying to track down his father. When that fails, and Willie's boss couldn't care less about helping the boy, Willie has no option but to bring the boy home.

ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

so many things that relate so much in this show in this day and age. a year ago I searched alf episodes to no avail. now, I'm home again
How is he a social worker and makes enough money to live in a house like that and take care of an entire family and an alien!?

Well the mom, Kate, also has a job or two, depending on what the plot needs. I think in one episode they even made her a full-fledged history professor so they're probably doing alright, even despite ALF's gratuitous expenditures.
That 80's economy though, man. My uncle bought a house back then delivering pizzas for tips.

It used to be absolutely possible, yes. In the 1980s. Today where the Tanners live you couldn't even afford living on a trailer from what a social worker makes.

This was the first episode that did not revolve around ALF. Willie is actually a main character in this one, along with Luis. The rest of the cast, including ALF, were supporting characters in this episode.

First time watching this episode in English. I am from Mexico and have seen this in Spanish thousands of times and wow...the boy's Spanish literally SUCKS! Couldnt they find an actor that could actually speak Spanish? This was painful to watch!!!!

@Jennifer Bass first channel Is not that deep for you, because like many people you see only the surface of things, but believe me it is deep, it talks about the lack of respect to a culture where you can't even cast a person who really resembles the character, they could've cast a talented latino actor who really resembles the character. There are many other things in that show that are deep, but you'll need to do the work to find them.
