Great deck! Used this to climb from rank 15 to 10 in one evening. I don't have Elise yet so I use instead that new Paladin weapon that summons minions after each attack. I find it has pretty good synergy with that other card puts all minions at 3/3 and it counters the Warriors a bit after they complete their quest. This deck has saved hearthstone for me as a control player just as I was about to quit, thanks Trump!
u know what, Trump isn't the best player i know, he read the power level of this expansion wrong but he has something that makes him a good streamer and keep me watching his videos, on 20:20 in the video u can see what i'm talking about, he's humble and that's the best part of this channel, cheers...
Nick D yeah that's very specific. decks get countered and at the end of the day I said I like the card not that it's going to be top tier in every deck
Paladin has been my favorite class since Beta, so I'm glad you finally get to it, even more glad that this deck actually looks good! Such a value class, so the Pres... hum I mean, mayor of value town has got to play it right ! Keep up the good work Trump
I have murloc quest shaman and rogue quest but my favorite deck is a budget secret mage i built... so weird! The win condition is steal or destroy opponents quest
I've been playing Midranged Pally for a while now on ladder. Jackie4chans's list runs lightfused with jungle, darkness and vinecleaver. What i love most about stegadon is that you could give your silver hand recruits poisonous and it deals with the quest rogues 5/5 easily. it also dealt with aggro easily with making them taunt.
well you won against the quest-worlock and it was the best match-up for the worlock, however the doomsayer going of was a huge tempo-swing that more often then not, are not going to happen. So I am not ready to give up on the deck jet!
Sun Keeper is kinda like a combination of Keeper of Uldamon, Eadric, and Quartermaster all in one. Pretty powerful card when used in the right situation.
I think this deck is more control than midrange. This deck has a lot of endgame but not enough early game: doomsayer, pyromancer, stonehill, acolyte are all early drops but all are slow and seek value later in the game. The fact that the curve is dangerously heavy (5 6 drops in a midrange deck???) makes the deck slower than it actually seems. I think "midrange paladin" is a misnomer and the title should reflect the actual nature of this deck: control.
Try a murloc version of midrange pala. It is more consistent for you to do progress into mid ~ late game. Also used 2 stonehill defender because this is one of the best card for paladin (i know it is neutral) since it can discover Wickerflame, the new 6mana taunt legendary, Tirion or Primordial Drake ( can be combo with Equality incase you used your concencration ).
An idea for thought. If Spikeridged Steed's text was "Give a minion +2/+6 and Taunt. Summon a Stegodon" would it have better value, worse, or about the same?
Well guys, we have to accept something dark. Pirate warrior is still a good high ranking deck. Blizzard may have no choice but to rework pirates in general.
wouldn't the legendary that when you cast a spell upon, it casts the same spell on another 1/1 minion it spawns be good in this deck? Like you almost auto win the game when you cast a spikeridged steed on it.
Discard lock is great, with tonnes of draw and discard cards. Heavy push. Interesting you never ran, the Stegadon for the silver hands. :( or atleast put an archetype of staged and buffs for a silver hand adapt.
The rogue quest shouldn't get its first tick when you play one minion. Should be after you play something that you already played. Also the pally quest at 6 buffs is too much. 5 is more competitive
Let's see how long usernames can get,I guess they can pretty damn long like really long It's pretty good because you can pretty much pick whichever secret is best in your situation (you choose one of three, and there are 5 in total in standard) without wasting space in your deck for it (so it's like running 32 cards in 30 card deck, those 2 cards being any of 5 available secrets), AND it has ok-ish body that can trade into some 3/2s (or bigger guys if you picked repentance), AND it is a murloc, so you can fit Curator into your deck (and for example stampeding kodo and primordial drake) for draw later in game (and to ensure that your later topdeck won't be 2/2 murloc, but some heavier stuff)
Insane missplay at 5:53, not playing Lost in the Jungle into Sunkeeper, a) Clearing the board, b) drawing him a Card, c) giving him a huge board. Can't believe he missed that opportunity.
Yes. That wouldn't work. He could suicide the Pyromancer beforehand, but that wouldn't allow him to clear the board as Nerk Derk envisioned. As a general rule of thumb: The more aggressive or harsh a RUclips comment pointing out a missplay is, the more likely it is the poster is missing something obvious... nothing scientific about that, just years of observation speaking...
Holy fuck that priest is so bad. He avoids killing the pyro, then Rag with the weapon, even though those minions will just smack him in the face anyway on his opponent's turn. Like what's the thought process there? Even god damn pirate warrior uses weapons to clear threats to their board.
DankMemez Elemental mage and shaman. Ramp druid. jade druid. aggro rogue or miracle rogue. Murloc shaman. all of those have decklists on competitivehs subreddit if you want lists.
I was rank 15 - 20 during MSoG and WotOG. I'm now Rank 5 - 9. My main the entire time was Paladin. Side note: I still haven't seen ANYONE playing my current deck yet.
@RedNull Rank is useless in terms of discerning how good is deck, unless it is rank 4 or higher. And yeah, current paladin much more "haha, paladin", than priest, which is actually really powerfull (Pretty much tier1)
When rag goes "live insect" but it heals itself
FleekShot self depreciation for the win
"poor priest, i don't feel bad for him. He stole my Tirion I'm the victim here"

Hydrologist: 2 mana 2/2 "Draw a Getaway Kodo"
I am reallly loving spikeriged steed. Against agro its perfect xD
Nick D two mortal strikes at 6?
sometimes but if you actually have a deck then you can stand up against it...
Nick D oddly specific
Nick D yeah that's very specific. decks get countered and at the end of the day I said I like the card not that it's going to be top tier in every deck
*cought* hex *cough*
I feel like paladin cards have the best intros.
1DiabolicalGenius
I could agree...
but Barnabus
But
COME FORTH, COWARD!
Is still about the flashiest intro a class legendary has. Sans Jaraxxus.
white eyes has a sick one too
These thumbnails have been hilarious Jens thank you
Legends say JayNova is still out there today, trying to justify his golden lakkari sacrifice...
Golden clutchmother zavas as well. He really believed in quest warlock
am I the only one that hasn't played a jade druid once since the expansion?
erich casey Thank God
not one. also on NA server around ranks 5-3 i very seldom see a pirate warrior.
Only Jade cards I've seen have been in hybrid Jade/Elemental Shaman builds.
On day 1 I ran into a few of them. But I've seen only 1 in the past couple days.
Jade druid is stronger now than it was based on my research, we won't see it popularised until someone plays it in tournament and wins though.
I love watching trump hopelessly stumbling around in the dark after a new expansion as he watches his predictions crumble around him
Jake Verrilli Edgy.
Paladin has been my favorite class since Beta, so I'm glad you finally get to it, even more glad that this deck actually looks good! Such a value class, so the Pres... hum I mean, mayor of value town has got to play it right !
Keep up the good work Trump

Unit Lost Just no.
y would u want to skip him?
Hello everyobody, It's me, Sty. Jeff had ripped a fart, carzy news!
Unit Lost hey stylosa
Skip the best part?
>That Danganronpa 3 sound at 24:18
Brings me bad memories man
daddy Jens is feeding me the good stuff today
Jens did you just put a Danganronpa 3 sound effect in my Hearthstone video? I knew I loved this channel for a reason.
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICE ABOUT THAT, I went to the comment section only for that lol
Where?
24:18
I have a fealing that in future Defias Cleaner might actually see some play. Considering Priest quest and Spikeridged Steed.
Toothless Cat Quest priest is not played very much : (
Thumbnails are on point as usual
Great stuff man, I just finished watching your last vid and you upload another.
I have murloc quest shaman and rogue quest but my favorite deck is a budget secret mage i built... so weird! The win condition is steal or destroy opponents quest
the thumbnails are top tier stuff

The hydrologist is such a funny card, I think it's supposed to say "Eureka! I've done it!" but it sounds more like "Yo ni**a I've done it!"
So I teched in a dirty rat in exchange of a stonehill. The idea is I can counter mage quest and rogue quest. Do you think is worth it?
Even if it is not worth it. It will be fun when it works.
I see Paladin, I click.
Considering youre playing Spikeridge Steed, could it be good to hide 2 of the "Buff all minions in hand" guys behind it?
With every expansion A hero rises
And a hero falls
The uploads! So much value
Member playing a Yeti on turn 4? Member playing Cairne on turn 6?
Schlagwerk Funker oh, i member!
This brings tears in my eyes.
Well it was either that or stepping on a lego.
Member "V O 7TR ON"?
Member mechs?
"yo nigga, i've done it" - hydrologist
Hi Jens, nice editing there
well you won against the quest-worlock and it was the best match-up for the worlock, however the doomsayer going of was a huge tempo-swing that more often then not, are not going to happen. So I am not ready to give up on the deck jet!
These thumbnails are amazing
Is it worth crafting the mage? wich deck are you supposing now to craft from midrange/combo/controll category?
Hearthstone noob here. What addon are you using to see your decklist on the side? And the winrate?
Sun Keeper is kinda like a combination of Keeper of Uldamon, Eadric, and Quartermaster all in one. Pretty powerful card when used in the right situation.
i love the 22:50 string of events lmao
22:35 Is it just me or is the Hydrologist saying "Yo niggah, i've done it!" when you play him?!
I did pretty much the same thing, except with handbuff. Works pretty well.
Well your plantlock is pretty good
Why would you run tar creeper over wickerflame burnbristle?
15:21 oh my god get a room
I think this deck is more control than midrange. I think "midrange paladin" is a misnomer and the title should reflect the actual nature of this deck: control.
Sunkeeper Tarim is really good. Got me out of some really sticky situations tbh.
Why are you avoiding making a quest rogue deck trump?
Try a murloc version of midrange pala. It is more consistent for you to do progress into mid ~ late game. Also used 2 stonehill defender because this is one of the best card for paladin (i know it is neutral) since it can discover Wickerflame, the new 6mana taunt legendary, Tirion or Primordial Drake ( can be combo with Equality incase you used your concencration ).
Funny enough I think he tried something similar yesterday
Did he do well with it? I am currently rank 4 with that deck.
Yakchew oh I can't remember, wasn't paying too much attention, but I'm sure Jens will upload those matches eventually
ANY ADVICE? - Should I spend my dust on a deck now or wait till a more established meta? Keep in mind, pretty much an entirely f2p player.
An idea for thought. If Spikeridged Steed's text was "Give a minion +2/+6 and Taunt. Summon a Stegodon" would it have better value, worse, or about the same?
Alex Val Good question. Probably slightly better.
Is Ragnaros lightlord Even necessary for this Deck ?
stonehill is amazing for value in pally..best taunts in the bizz
Love Trump's No Game No Life shirt
I'd love to play this deck! Guess I'll better go sell myself on the street because playing this game costs your soul.
I swear the hydrologist says "young nigga" when played
has anybody even seen a big cluthmother yet the highest ive seen on ladder is a 4/4
parker wicht , same thought I had watching the discard lock deck
gotten to 8/8 highest. average is 4/4
parker wicht got a 16/16 against taunt warrior, didn't work out
I think Elise Starseeker is Trump's true waifu
Awesome deck man!
Does anyone know if recruit paladin is a thing in wild?
thank u for going through the theory crafting and thought process, not many other big hearthstoners do that
I got 1800 dust, what should I craft??
Did Trump really change his battle tag to Your opponent or that is just some editing magic?
rogue quest is only 1 star
Rem Rem Rogue*
There for I rate it 1 star
Therefore*
This meme is already outdated. Non quest rogue is better.
Rem Rem anime is fucking trash
Is trump playing on his smurf account? Or what's up with his in-game name?
I stopped playing Hearthstone for like 5 months but if paladin is a thing again I have to come back.
midrange control paladin is already very popular in china, why is no1 running it in na till now
Well guys, we have to accept something dark. Pirate warrior is still a good high ranking deck. Blizzard may have no choice but to rework pirates in general.
Ungoro was such a cool expansion.
He calls himself your opponent, that`s genious.
at 22:47 wouldn't it be right to sunkeeper trade
How did Trump missed Vorax Stegodon value?
I was watching the vod and just thinking, how is this deck doing so well??? Is it really just variance? Where is the unfairness of the deck?
What does @Trump use to show his deck on the side in games
hsdecktracker (dot) net is where you'll find it. It's awesome
holy shit sunkeeper tarim wreckage
Wow this deck actually seems cool for once.
wouldn't the legendary that when you cast a spell upon, it casts the same spell on another 1/1 minion it spawns be good in this deck? Like you almost auto win the game when you cast a spikeridged steed on it.
for 10 mana LUL
It's too inconsistent if you can only get value by comboing it with Spikeridged Steed.
Would hand paladin work?
That unfortunate unicorn deck at the end XD
Mr. president, is that shirt from no game no life(anime thing)
Discard lock is great, with tonnes of draw and discard cards. Heavy push.
Interesting you never ran, the Stegadon for the silver hands. :( or atleast put an archetype of staged and buffs for a silver hand adapt.
3:00 illkeepthepeacekeeper
trump changed his name to "Your Opponent"?
5:57 Why not Lost > Sunkeeper
The rogue quest shouldn't get its first tick when you play one minion. Should be after you play something that you already played. Also the pally quest at 6 buffs is too much. 5 is more competitive
What's the hyoe over Hydrologist? To me it looks like hot garbage
Let's see how long usernames can get,I guess they can pretty damn long like really long

Insane missplay at 5:53, not playing Lost in the Jungle into Sunkeeper, a) Clearing the board, b) drawing him a Card, c) giving him a huge board. Can't believe he missed that opportunity.
Nerk Derk wouldn't pyro clear the two 1 drops?
It would be cool if Blizzard would reveal the cards for curious root when the guess is wrong.
making Paladin great again!
Holy fuck that priest is so bad. He avoids killing the pyro, then Rag with the weapon, even though those minions will just smack him in the face anyway on his opponent's turn. Like what's the thought process there? Even god damn pirate warrior uses weapons to clear threats to their board.
11:29 "Yo, Nigga I've done it"
Did Trump change gametag?
sunkeeper tarim beast pally card, so strong
What decks besides cancer rogue are viable?
DankMemez Elemental mage and shaman. Ramp druid. jade druid. aggro rogue or miracle rogue. Murloc shaman. all of those have decklists on competitivehs subreddit if you want lists.
And taunt warrior.
YOU PUT IN THE WRONG DOOMSAYER!
not sure if the deck is actually that good if you play against tier 2-3 decks, but it is an interesting idea that should investigated.
Is that a ngnl shirt?
Why Trump's name was "your opponent"?
Where is the vorax
i thought his elemental mage was decent too, although missing a bit of a win condition, with some polish it would probably turn out great
o god the feeling is good when u beat aggro hunter
Haha, Priest? More like Haha, Paladin.
I was rank 15 - 20 during MSoG and WotOG. I'm now Rank 5 - 9. My main the entire time was Paladin.
Side note: I still haven't seen ANYONE playing my current deck yet.
Tell us your deck then!
+RED Null (Investing With Nothing) handbuff elemental got me from rank 19 to 8 so far
Control Pally from 12 to 5.
@RedNull Rank is useless in terms of discerning how good is deck, unless it is rank 4 or higher.
And yeah, current paladin much more "haha, paladin", than priest, which is actually really powerfull (Pretty much tier1)
