  • Hi everybody! Here's a short video with some information about how to make a simple version of the Dancers Mobile, which is the second mobile in the "Montessori Visual Mobile Series" in the Montessori baby/infant environment.
Its graceful movement in the gentle breeze helps baby with visual focus, eye tracking, and color discrimination.
This mobile is typically introduced around 8 weeks (between 2 and 3 months), after the black and white Munari Mobile.
Many people use shiny cardstock to make this mobile (as they feel it makes the mobile more interesting), but you can use anything you have available - including cardstock, or even old shiny giftbags you might have lying around!
To make a simplified 2-color version of this mobile, you'll need:
    You'll need:
Colored cardstock (at least two pieces)
    Scissors
    Glue
    Dancers Template (optional)
    Needle
    Fishing wire (or thread)
Wire or dowel rods - something to hang the mobile
    Pliers (optional)
Please see the video for full instructions.
Please feel free to be creative with this mobile and make it unique - it doesn't have to be pinterest perfect and can be made using materials you have available. Anything you make will likely fascinate your baby.
