    There is this national famous singer in my country called Alejandro Sanz. His voice is hoarse and raspy, but sounds good, that's why he is famous. But you can hear how over the years it has gotten worse even more raspy. He's lucky that's his signature trait and that people like it.

    I have been thinking a lot about this. I am 55 and have a bigger range and better voice than ever and I want to keep it that way with my busy singing schedule. Thank you!

    Have been listening to Jonas Kaufmann's new album, "The Sound of Movies." He sings different types of songs in the style they were written to be sung in. Didn't just blast away with his full, operatic sound and style. Made me think of you and your teaching. I wonder if he follows you on RUclips. One of the singers I knew told me being a natural singer was all well and good but sooner or later, everyone gets into vocal difficulties and if you don't know how you make your sound, you don't know how to work on fixing what is going wrong. Liked today's video.

      Yes! I talk about the difference between “natural singers” and trained singers in one of my videos! We all need our good technique at some point in our singing - unless we are just going to sing to a baby or in a limited range and volume forever. ☺️. NATURAL SINGER vs. TRAINED SINGER - Does it matter? Are voice lessons worth it? ruclips.net/video/kfkcs6U8RjE/видео.html&si=SlZPnFc9DxD8x-05

    This is exactly what I need! I stopped singing during the lock-down (I sang at church) plus I’m 65😮 ! My voice has definitely deteriorated but I will need to sing for my father-in-law’s memorial service soon.

    Yeah, some famous singers say they never warm up but that doesn't work for most of us. Also there are SOO many singers that experience vocal decline, I don't think I need to name names but I can if you want me to lol. There are only a few singers who have preserved their voice and they're the ones who sing with good technique.

    Hi, I’m just at the first exercise here. Great stuff!
    When you do the first vowel exercise you have a very strong vibrato, and I’m wondering, do you also like to sing and practice without that?

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  Год назад +2

      Yes. I sing with vibrato as my default but I use straight tone all the time in pop styles. See my playlist of my performances of pop, R&B, classical (opera), etc. I teach singers how to go from straight tone to vibrato at will (see my playlist on vibrato).

      @@Victoria-Victorious Yes, understood and thank you. I'm a folk, blues, jazz-blues singer (think more like Chet Baker) and especially with the Irish stuff I crave less vibrato and in general prefer it as an expressive device, naturally with and as emotion makes it, rather than a default. It's an interesting thing to talk and learn more about! I find a relentless powerful vibrato in most any style but opera to be hard to listen to myself :)

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  Год назад +1

      No problem. Good singers know how to control their vibrato for the style. I do that all the time. I have a video on that. Vibrato is a powerful ornament and expressive tool.

    I liked the last exercise, tho I would have thought the word would be more difficult than just vowel (yes I have tried both). Anyway agility is important for speech because people have little time these days, to listen to my sermonic type of rhetoric [which by the way is only intended as polite]; thus a faster speaking pace requires more agility !
