Visited twice when I was working in KL. Truly beautiful divine place. Great thing is, separate temples ror Sivan and Perumal are built. There is a special train from KL central station. South Indian restaurant is very near. Buffet lunch costs
RM 15. Variety dishes. There is a pond with colorful fishes. RS is at the temple itself. Convenient. Leisurely trip.

The caves were little-known except to local residents until 1878, when the American naturalist William Temple Hornaday revealed their existence to the wider world. K. It is said that he took inspiration from the similarity in shape of the cave entrance to the tip of the vel, or spear, traditionally wielded by the deity Murugan. Thaipusam, the Tamil Hindu festival devoted to Murugan, was first celebrated on the site in 1892 and is now a major event that attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims annually.

The temple location is batu caves that s why it called batumalai temple here in our country we used the locations n places and we no need to translate the word from Malay to Tamil.Ennakum nandragave teriyum batu endral kal(கல்) Here in Malaysia there is three main Murugan temple batu mallai kallumalai and thannermaalai. No one asked for your translation what is means by Batu. When you say kallumalai it totally means the other temple located in ipoh.Don’t brings in your tamil pulamai here. I am also tamilan and I know very well to speak and write. Use your tamil pullamai skills on other better things.
