    We lived in NM for almost 4 years and never got the state park pass. There is so much BLM and NF, we rarely paid for camping. It will be nice for you guys having a reserved spot though.

      Yes! In Summer we try for reserved spots, particularly around the holiday weekends. We’re still hoping to do some boondocking too, so if you have any faves, we’d love to hear them!

    Van lifers need to know that New Mexico (along with many states) will consider someone who was physically in the state for 6 months out of a tax year as required to pay New Mexico taxes of 5.9% on their income. It would be super easy to check the holders of the annual pass to see how many days they stayed.

    I will be heading to Grants NM tomorrow. Maybe not arrive until Tue. Will stay at a Harvest Host and most likely head to Albuquerque then north because of the fires to UT-CO-WY. Have fun and I look forward to your videos.

    I know this is from a different video you guys did but, I ended up putting in a multiplus II in my original compartment. I like it. Turns out the dimensions I had for the multiplus II showed it being 4" longer then it was. So it did fit nicely.

      Oh that’s amazing! Ours definitely wouldn’t fit, and we’re happy with it being inside, but why did Victron decide to make something new that does not fit in the space as a replacement for most RVs?! 🤦‍♀️ hope it’s working well for ya!!

    Thanks for the video. What is the best course of action to establish New Mexico residency? And receive mail? I know America’s mailbox in South Dakota is turn key is there anything like that in New Mexico?

    • @PerpetualMoves
      @PerpetualMoves  2 года назад

      We’re Florida residents. Other RVers choose South Dakota or Texas. I’m not sure New Mexico offers any options without actually living there. Sorry and good luck!

    What a great deal, which states offer that’s same state pass benefit, do you know? In California you can use your national park pass for discounts in cal. State parks but never that cheap….

      The only ones that we know about so far are Nevada and New Mexico! We’ll let you know if we find more 👍

    Is there a monthly flat rate for electric ?

    • @PerpetualMoves
      @PerpetualMoves  Год назад +1

      There’s an additional fee for electric hookups

    Not true! There is plenty of camping in NM state parks without reservations. Primitive or electric hook up. It's only full hook up that's hard to reserve. Don't mislead people! Not everyone needs full hook up. 😉

    • @PerpetualMoves
      @PerpetualMoves  2 года назад +3

      I stand corrected, apologies. We don’t need full hookups, we boondock primarily. We were told that the places we were trying to book would fill up completely, so we booked in advance to have choice of spots and ensure our large bus would fit! And when we tried to book a campsite at Navajo Lake in May it was fully booked 🤷‍♀️ just sharing our real-time experience!
