    Set out bowls of cheap beer, partially buried in the ground for easy access to the slugs. This killed hundreds of slugs for me, when I lived in a different state. I think they drink, get drunk, and fall into the bowl. Lol!🤣😂
    I LOVE YOUR SECRET GARDEN, ESPECIALLY THE HOSTAS!🤩

    It's great to see your plants finding their permanent homes. Last year I planted several hostas in a new garden and they are popping up now. Exciting. I had to bring in several plants last night because of threat of frost. My zone is so far behind yours.

    Oh that’s going to be so pretty! I think you could make a fake bridge just curve up a little in center of walk way.And then off the sides have rocks here and there! Like a dry river bed. Wild flowers under the bridge sides.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • @lynnallen1315
    @lynnallen1315 2 месяца назад

    I'd love to have some of those rocks! My neighbor, Felipe, and his son have been fighting tree roots all day, trying to get my fence posts set before our next rain hits this weekend. They are just swapping from auger to post-hole diggers to shovel. I'm so excited to see you planting this stuff because when I rebuild the beds where the guys are working, I want to use some hosta and some heuchera, and I've never had much luck. Maybe if I imitate y'all, I'll be more successful.

    Suggestion- use a garden claw when digging holes and working around rocks - san antonio resistant

  • @avon1950
    @avon1950 2 месяца назад +1

    Looking good - however, for safety reasons - I would suggest that you pick up the rocks as you install your plants and this is for safety reasons. You do not want to fall or twist your ankles in that tight area. Also, I would suggest purchasing a longer auger for planting to eliminate the need to bend over so much - saves the back! Thanks

    Yea! Your plants seem to be adjusting to life in S.A. They all look beautiful! I can't wait to see what it looks like in a couple of months over there. I think y'all may have to plant a couple of trees over there too increase the shade for some of those plants. I love in Amarillo and when I talk about S.A. with a friend from sown there, I say it's just north of H E double hockey sticks!🤣 I have been there in May and June and I thought it was too hot and humid for me! We went to Sea World and if anyone wanted to find me, they looked in the penguin enclosure!🤣

    I am so happy for you both finally putting things in the ground. It will be beautiful. I live in MN and have hundreds of Hosta. The more water in their early stages of growth the bigger they get. Look for the more varigated because they'll take more sun. Get your hands on Montana Aureomarginata. It's tall and by color and glossy leaves, and will brighten up any space. Slugs don't like the heavier waxy leaves. Love your channel.

      It’s been so much fun planting the shade area. Hosta has become one we fell in love with. Oh how I would love to have a place to plant as many as you grow it has to be heaven in your garden. Thank you for the tips! We truly appreciate. I do love variegated foliage. We must add the hosta you mentioned it is a beauty! We are also on the look for smaller varieties of hostas to grow. By any chance do you know of any that are must to grow? 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

    There isn't much room in that space for seating. What I loved about your previous secret garden was that you were able to sit and enjoy it (provided your neighbors weren't causing stress) and that you did video's for us so that we could also enjoy it.
