That's my old car! I actually did the exhaust and tint on it. Glad to see it
That’s awsome dude 👍
Wow! I bought that EXACT car brand new in ‘89. Color, interior, whale tail, everything! I put 400k miles on it in 11 years, put a Ford Probe engine in it at 250k mikes and it ran great until it finally was rusting out completely. All miles in VT winters. Your review was spot on, everyone loved the oscillation of the fans the most. Great car, missed the retracting antennae. Would always get dirty and not always retract.
I had a 1990 MX-6 super fun. Can’t believe there’s still some out there.
I love the style of these Mazda's. I loved the MX6 and 626 of this gen. I went in a turbo MX6 and it went like a rocket. Great cars. 👍
So cool! My dream car back in high school was the Ford probe which was the same as the Mazda MX6!
I still have my 1988 Mazda MX6, GT turbo with stick, still in very good condition. It is very hard to find parts for, now. It still drives well, though, and I want to restore it to OEM, basically put in repairs. The rumor had it that the seats are recaro design, but this is a rumor.
I drive an 88 626 and I love it so much but it’s cool to see it’s 2 door sibling 👍
Just picked up a 91 mx-6 grandpa bought and owned and kept up with it as well as garage kept. 101,000 miles Black with auto trans, Car is in nearly showroom quality and picked it up for $1500!
Cars weren't known for having very many (if any) cupholders in cars/ trucks in the 80's.. it became more standard in the 90's.
instablaster.
funny thing is, I have a 93 geo tracker and IT doesnt even have cupholders
In the UK, this is known as the 626 GT Coupe.
I had one for a couple of years, and it was a great car!
This one is the lx non turbo
I have been working with my father on his old Mazda mx6 and we put a whole new suspension on it. Fixed the breaks and everything. Gonna be my first car in about a year once I can drive.
I’m Australian and this was my second car, albeit the turbo 5sp version. The only car I really miss and would jump at the chance of getting a good one. Watch out for oil cooler leaks on the turbo.
Yessir! Good luck with the purchase!
I had one just like this back in 99-00, bought it at an auction for 1700, put a new starter in it and put 30k miles on it and then sold it at the same auction for 1400, it was a heck of a deal really. Other than the aforementioned starter, I never had an issue with the car, the ac was even working up until a few weeks before I sold it. Good car.
Maybe it’s because we had so many of them over here in Australia
But I think we only got the mx6 turbo version I had 4 of them in my life
I'm about to start a restore on my old '91. Got some body damage to take care of but it could be fun!
I have a 91 first gen MX6 and I love it!
These cars were built so solid! I’m a Ford Guy & I really miss the Mazda/Ford Venture! Even tho Both Manufacturers quality got better when they parted ways lol
Cool review, they are some what under rated cars. I had a 2nd gen 1996 MX6 V6; bought in 2011 with 149,434 km (92,853 miles), sold 2019 w/184,400 km (114,580 miles). Quite peppy with the v6, pretty rare to see around these days. Sold the 6 after I got my 2nd gen miata (#3). The MX6 felt like a rocket driven back to back. Always enjoyed the MX5 more, even if they are slower :)
My first car! Loved that thing!
I had a '91 and put 290k miles on it. Never replaced the clutch. Most reliable car I ever owned. Paint sucked though
Thx...Had a 1991 4 dr 626 LX sedan blu over blue...loved the center vents that rotated ...till they did,n"t ,,,ran till 200,000 miles when til smog got in the way!! Bought it with 100,000 miles on it.
It was called 626 coupe in EU. Never seen Capella name. The main difference was the engine. EU didn't get the turbo model, but got 2.0 16V NA version, that had the same power as the turbo 2.2 12v.
excactly...148 ps
this was the second car I ever had and it was so fun to drive, mine was "champagne" color lol would be cool to see a review on the GT version if you could somehow find one!!
My 91 gt was a blast to drive. The 2.2 with the turbo has forged parts in it
Hey man I have 1991 Mazda mx6 GT everything’s runs jus need new parts for my right side passenger need a new hub an steering knuckle any website?? Or car model that can fit it too?
The trunk really is great on this thing. It really is a great and fun daily. Btw, the fenders are one of my favourite pieces of design.
I had one exactly like it. My MX-6 LX was black. I loved it. Sadly it was totalled when a young girl rear ended it.
you should review mazda 626 GE 1995 love that car, esprcialy the V6 version
In Denmart, it was a 16v 2.2I , having 148 ps , and named 626 coupe'
Always wondered why the MX-6 or the two door, and 626 for the four door.
I miss my '88 MX-6 so much. So very, very much.
Hi bro i am from costa rica and I have a mazda 626 year 87 sedan. I love this car but here is not easy to find parts do you have any Name of company where I can find parts for them?
Thanks for your videos
Zack: the MX-6 is sportier than the 626.
Mariusz: Hold my beer
Oh that so eighties burgundy interior... I wonder what interior color of today's era will be remembered as so very much of this era
You should try to drive the turbo version or find an 89 ford probe gt which had the same motor transmission and basically the same chassis
I have a Mazda MX-6 1990 I’m 18, he’s running good, from Puerto Rico.
I have a 91 MX-6 and i’m 19! she’s running good and i’m from Florida!
haven’t drove it in months and finally took it to a shop a week ago and today I Just got it back from the shop! after getting worked on:)
looking at another one to purchase atm too!
Does this one have auto seatbelts? Cuz my 88 626 has auto seatbelts
you should do a review on a mazda 929 (hd)
I had two of these. The non turbo is a ton more fun.
This was my first car. I wish I could find one today.
I love my 89 MX6 GT 🔥
I had the turbo version. Heaps of fun but it was a turd. Torque steer would send you across the road when the boost kicked in, had leaky seals everywhere and most of the gauges failed. Wish I still had it though.
Review the MK2 mx6 & mx3!
you must do an episode on a ford probe :D especially second gen
I live the grey interior!
This was my first car. 1988, 5 speed. drove it from 2001-2009. it has 255K miles on it when i drove it, and drove it to 300K miles when i sold it to a friend
My first car. Turbo GT. It went through mufflers every year.
Do the automatic versions hold up? Looking into one
The automatic is a weak spot of these cars, but I had one with about 239k on it before it went out. It was my first car and I wish it was a manual. The engine is very reliable.
Hey I just got the MX-6 GT and I'm in Chicago if you would like to review it!

I had this car
yeah this is a hot car. now I want one.
I agree. It looks Australian.
Speaking from a local.
These cars are probably more common with the F2 and F2T
You should try to drive the turbo version
I like these cars.
in australia this car is also called the mx6
In col is call mazda 626 glx asahi and the tachometer is digital

And the back seats let down
Looks like a baby R34 GTR.
Lol
This Is a Mazda 626 🤣👌
its a capella
