- Take your embossing to a new level with the blackout technique! This is a fun and simple way to use the debossed side of embossed cardstock. And I have two different ways you can use this technique in your card making.
The cards feature the Layered Florals 3D embossing folder and the Simply Said stamp set from Stampin’ Up! However, keep in mind you can use any supplies you have on hand with this technique.

Lynn, you are a spectacular teacher! You accomplished, in 7:55 minutes, what another You Tube video took nearly 40 minutes to accomplish! I don't have the time or patience to sit through a 40 minute video. You are always concise and give such great directions. This was a wonderful reminder video for me and I appreciate your work very much!

Love this. I have to have this embossing folder. Thanks Lynn for sharing this technique.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful cards. Had to sit down and try it. Just so you know cheap ink pads do not work for the drawing . Had to use a stamping up ink pad to make it work . Thank you for the video.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you sharing about the other ink pads
Very nice. Thank you
You're welcome
Lynn, another wonderful technique and idea for card making. Agreed! your videos are always the best at instructing and keeping things succinct. I am wondering how heavily inked your Early Espresso pad was to get such even coverage on the paper. Do you recommend a well-inked pad or is it still ok to go over the area if your ink pad is lower in ink. Thank you for your videos and tutorials!
Thanks so much Margie. I actually re-inked my pad prior to recording video...so it's well inked :) You can definitely go over an area several times if needed
So stunning! Does this work with markers as well? I’d try, but don’t have a 3D embossing folder?
Yes, you should be able to color the embossed images with markers too. I haven't tried it with regular embossing folders. It may work as well
Can I use the Stamp & Write markers for this as well?
Yes, of course!
Can you use black ink instead of the brown?
Yes, of course! I use my brown ink because it glides on smoother than my black ink
Gorgeous! I’m going to try this.
Super! Have fun with this technique
