My very first quilt was a log cabin. I love it. I hand quilted it and learned to sew in it. There are so many mistakes in it but I don’t care it’s mine. Oh and it took me 15 years to complete it. Lol
Great tutorial! I am especially pleased to learn the “add to the side with 2 seams” rule of thumb! But most of all I loved seeing you go from inspiration photo to a whole quilt!
An absolutely gorgeous quilt and so easily made - thank you Mabel! There's something clean and fresh about interior design using blue and white. A wedding gift to be treasured for life ❤
It just so happens that a scrappy log cabin is on my to-do list after I am finished with a couple more projects (complete with scraps to add to what I have), so this terrific video came right on time for me to start mentally planning. 😊 I adore how yours turned out! What a beautiful heirloom gift!
This is gorgeous. I love your relaxed approach to quilting. It has been an inspiration as I've started my own quilting journey. First quilt is about half done...
This is a beautiful quilt!! Thank you for showing fabric selection! I love seeing your "stash"!! And SO appreciate the tip about making center blocks the same fabric or color, it makes the whole quilt cohesive!! Love it!!
Thank you for this tutorial. It's a beautiful quilt. I've made improv log cabins before but wondered how to make a wonky log cabin look "even" the way you made this one.
I'm about to embark on a blue & white log cabin quilt, so the timing of your vid is perfect. I love your method....and the finished quilt is beautiful. Thanks for the video 😊
I love the way you go about making quilts. It feels casual, and very much "you do you" and it makes my heart happy and makes me more confident because I am self taught and still a beginner and I very much just do what makes me happy.
this is such a beautiful quilt and I like how you don't have to have perfect squares! the choosing of colors at first was a little overwhelming but only because I tend to overthink all my choices. thanks for the great tutorial!!
Beautiful, my favorite colors too. I like the tip of sewing on the side with two seams, much easier to remember than to got to To the right... Or left, I never remember.
Once again - a fun and informative tutorial! Beautifully done. Another thing I am excited to try. I am still working my way through your longarm quilting tutorials and am pleased to have used several things I learned recently in grandchild and charity quilts. Feathers still elude me. But some day I will get there! Thank you!
Feathers took me awhile too. That is actually when I designed the wonky feathers. Regular feathers were tricky to learn for me. I did learn them and love to do them now. But, the wonky feathers are just so happy and free, that I do them often.
For the centers, red is for the heart of the home, and yellow is for the light of the home. I love it! I struggle with wonky and also with scrappy. It’s my OCD!😂
Lightbulb moment. Look for side with TWO SEAMS! I always get confused and put a clip on the side I should sew next. Hopefully your tip with eliminate the need. Great video. Thank you.
