She is certainly versatile in quite a few languages. Srimathi Vishaka Hari's high standard of explanation is the same in whichever language she expresses herself in. She is special in the way she puts together her selection in the Shloka, music and explanations.
Vishaka Hari switches beautifully from Kalayani to Ataana, to Brindava Saranga to Varaali....without the slightest sign of hesitation or even an expected pause (to switch one's focus to the new Raga). Height of professionalism as natural talent is sharpened through love for Culture and Sanatana Dharma.
Kaapi...to Shanmukhapriya..... great Ragam, Thaanam, Pallavi with the excellent Violin and Mridangam.... Our Universe of Culture and Music is second to NONE in depth of edification... even if we don't get reviewed in the New Yorker...!!!
Am I the only one who finds this borderline insulting for it to be conducted in English? To the NRIs in the US, I wish you all the best, but please do not try to Americanize this art form. History will not remember you well if this continues.
As long as the Carnatic Music and Sanskrit survive in the traditional form, the language of communication may be Tamizh, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam or even English or French. Language of the Carnatic Music compositions can be in Telugu, Sanskrit, Tamizh, Kannada, Hindi or Malayalam. We all regret that many NRI children lose touch with Tamizh because the language at their schools and the wider world is English.
