Greg Wrubell, what a guy! My first career plan was to become a sports commentator all because I was so inspired by listening to this guy do his job. He is the GOAT. Even though I've decided to go on a different path, I will always be grateful for him, because he has gave me some of my favorite memories as a BYU fan. Possibly my favorite call of all time was when Wisconsin missed that field goal in 2018. I was sitting in my room listening to the game (since I couldn't watch it) and then Greg is like "It is going.... LEFT OF THE UPRIGHTS ITS NO GOOD!!!!", and I went CRAZY!!!! He really knows how to create a great experience!
All I have to see: put all of the Nike gear you guys are wearing in the bookstore and online. You will make a lot of money. Beck to Harline is an insane play, always will be a top highlight.
Love those cougars. These “Cuts” are polished and skillful but for those of us looking for game highlights, they are overproduced and celebratory-not recapturing the experience of the game. Maybe the latter can be provided as well.
If Greg did it for free, I would think the cougs were getting what they paid for. The guys who do Friday ch14 high school games are better. People who think Greg does well have never listened to sport casting outside of Utah County. On a positive note, his interviews and program knowledge for post-game recaps are excellent.
Lol that’s a cap. Wrubell gives in depth knowledge on each team BYU plays & their stats along with quality information on BYU. I’ve heard plenty of other radio broadcasts to know Wrubell is good at what he does
I always watch the games on ESPN and I wish there was a way I could dub Wrubell over top of the ESPN video without a lag between audio and video. Wrubell is infinitely better. I understand if you aren't a cougar fan, you'd rather have an unbiased announcer, but if you're a cougar fan, why wouldn't you want to watch the broadcast with someone who actually knows the players and puts some real emotion into it.
Don't you dare come at Wrubell, son. You'll be lucky if Wrubell doesn't back-hand slap you into yesterday. Wrubell is the king of radio. The dude's a legend.
