I have a silly little headcanon that he has a bit of ADHD. He's aleays jumping around, streching, playfighting with Wakka, or being a bit of an impatient kid at times. It makes me smile :)
I was in a coffee shop, running away from home when I heard the news. Our hero, Jecht, gone. Vanished into thin air! My dad must have been his biggest fan. I knew how sad he’d be. Heck, we all were that day. “Zanar,” I says to myself, “What are you thinking?” I went running straight back home. We sat up talking ’bout Jecht all night. My dad and I never talked so much. Whoa… Didn’t mean to reminisce, folks. Anyway… Ten years later, the Jecht Memorial Cup tournament is today! The two teams that have won through to the finals are…of course, the Abes from A-East, and the Duggles from C-South. I know there’s a lot of people out there today to see the star of the Abes! In just one year, he’s become the team’s number one player! He’s Jecht’s blood, and the new hope of blitzball! What kind of super play will he show us today? Will we see his father’s legendary shot? I don’t think I’m the only one excited here, folks!
You know, reading this little monologue made me realize that they were from the very beginning trying to establish that Tidus was taking the wrong approach with his feelings for his father.
Lulu: Well? Say something. You’ll take responsibility? Wakka: Relax! He’s bound to know someone in Luca. Lulu: And if not? Wakka: He could always join a blitz team. Anyhow, it’s better than just leaving him in Besaid! Lulu: What? Just leaving him in Luca? Wakka: What do you want me to do? Lulu: Yuna wants to make him a guardian. Wakka: Oh, yeah, geez…There’s that too, eh? Lulu: And whose fault is that? Wakka: Not mine! Lulu: (glares) Wakka: (slumps) It is mine, huh? Wakka: Why do you think she wants to make him a guardian, anyway? Lulu: Because he’s Sir Jecht’s son. Wakka: Oh, right. Wakka: Wait, you sure ’bout that? He’s really Sir Jecht’s son? Lulu: It’s hard to say, but Yuna seems to believe so. Wakka: Okay. Lulu: “Okay?” “Okay?” That’s all you have to say? Wakka: Well, yeah, I mean…He’s gotta decide for himself, ya? Well, him and Yuna, I guess. Lulu: You’re right, for once. Wakka: Ahem! Lulu: I wonder which is best… Lulu: Why don’t you tell him he should? Wakka: Should what? Lulu: Become Yuna’s guardian. Wakka: Why me? Lulu: Because Yuna can’t. Wakka: Why not? Lulu: He hates his father- what he was, what he did. Do you really think she can possibly say to him… “I want you to be my guardian, like your father was to mine?” Wakka: Aren’t you being over-sensitive? Lulu: (Huff!) Wakka: All right, all right. I’ll try talking to him after the tournament. Lulu: Be discreet. Wakka: I know. It’s his decision. Wakka: He doesn’t like his father? Lulu: Apparently. He told Yuna as much. Wakka: Hating your own father, huh? Sounds like a luxury to me. I don’t even remember my parents. Can’t say how I feel about ’em. Lulu: I…I was five then, so I remember mine a little. Wakka: Dammit! (slams fist on deck) Lulu: Hm? Wakka: Sin just takes everything away from us.
I love this song; it really takes me back to when I first played FFX and listening to the Blitzball announcer telling a story about Jecht. So relaxing. Man, I really want to play it again now. After this song, maybe.
This really takes me back to when me and my brother would sit around and play FFX, need less to say i havent cried that much in awhile i sure do miss him.
Thank you! Someone who understands this! While most gamers are used to/want a "badass" character that doesnt change at all throughout the game, some get enjoyment out of watching characters grow or mature into true heroes... You just cant find real character development in games anymore...
You get your badass in auron, your character development through tidus, yuna, and rikku. They all become something special in my heart. I want to replay ffx so bad but my copy was stolen:( I really need a new one.
Its funny, the first time i played it when i was extremely young i was all like Man tidus is so lame! This that. Every rerun i do of this game and im like Man tidus had it rough and hes actually a cool guy. I like him more and more :D
The few beginnings seconds sounds like a part of the Klonoa soundtrack hell, maybe even, the whole Tidus's story is similiar to Klonoa's Klonoa saved a dream world only to be getting kicked and thrown to another world, whereas Tidus saved the world only to reincarnated to the afterlife.
Didn't you just say you had no interest in continuing this conversation? Also, you spelled it as ''existance'', yet now you quote yourself as ''existence'', that's being inconsistent
Always optimistic? ... HAH! A lot of the game is his whining about his 'daddy issues.' I grew up with the game, but Tidus is probably one of the least inspiring FF heroes.
The main thing I liked about Tidus was that regardless of any difficult circumstances, he was always optimistic and anticipated positve outcomes.

When my baby boy listens to this he relaxes and then falls asleep. I can see some peace in his face everyday I get him to sleep listening to this.
"Zanar," I says to myself, "What are you thinking?"" "I went running straight back home. We sat up talking 'bout Jecht all night.
I can’t explain, but this song is just so hard to listen to, it’s so sad

1:07 this is what makes me prefer the original overall, this part is completely missing from the remaster; man the nostalgia hits immediately!
Indeed, the remaster is good, but this is the best part in the original one.
This really takes me back to when me and my brother would sit around and play FFX, need less to say i havent cried that much in awhile i sure do miss him.

2024... it got worse. 😢
You get your badass in auron, your character development through tidus, yuna, and rikku. They all become something special in my heart. I want to replay ffx so bad but my copy was stolen:( I really need a new one.
Love this song! Sounds good to me :)
Bravo, Dimbark! It must be a great feeling having said your 2 cents worth!
I already did three weeks ago, so there was absolutley point to making that comment you just did
Its funny, the first time i played it when i was extremely young i was all like Man tidus is so lame! This that. Every rerun i do of this game and im like Man tidus had it rough and hes actually a cool guy. I like him more and more :D
Tidus is Tidus. He's a lot cooler in the Japanese version, btw. He's kind of like a bro.
Amen, To You. o-o xD...
The few beginnings seconds sounds like a part of the Klonoa soundtrack
hell, maybe even, the whole Tidus's story is similiar to Klonoa's
Klonoa saved a dream world only to be getting kicked and thrown to another world,

Holy Shit!!! I just realized that Tidus was Jesus! They both sacrificed themselves to save the world from their sins!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats great
@MrMarinebioguy Except zelda which has that in every game.
Running away I see. Works better than just admitting defeat for some people, I guess
Well you obviously cared enough to write me back, so I think that you could concievably care less, even if you say you can't.
Didn't you just say you had no interest in continuing this conversation? Also, you spelled it as ''existance'', yet now you quote yourself as ''existence'', that's being inconsistent
My point still stands and now you're not making any sense
Calm down, and please stop bothering me
Isn't English your first language? You should know when not to use ''...'', it's not when you're making a long pause, you know
Yeah the ps2 version is better and i didnt even play this as a kid.
Always optimistic?
...
HAH!
