I mean just listen to him now, sounds like sand paper gentally rubbing the inside of my asshole. I haven't sleppepetit in over a decade. Now you may think I was up on just adderalls, but you are wrong. I did get drain bamblage from listening to noisia though.
This is actually great advice, and it boils down to arrangement, but I like how you came up with this "energy levels" term, it's cool and accessible. Man arrangement is so so so overlooked by most modern-day producers. Especially those who started out with eJay and things like this, most of us think in terms of loops and bars, and eventually end up in a dreaded loop syndrome. Hell, after 12 years of making music I'd say that constructing a coherent musical narrative a.k.a. good arrangement is the most difficult thing in making music. And I haven't come up with a proper solution to it yet that would always work. I guess the gist here is - CHANGE your tracks, and yes it's good if you change the dynamics along the way too. Hey Underbelly. I discovered your channel last night, and boy did i find a treasure. I think it's incredible how you manage to entertain- while sharing legitimate, helpful knowledge and WIZDOM about producing. 'Cause believe it or not, i have actually managed to pick up a trick or two during my "You Suck At Producing" marathon last night. Sometimes the other, more in-depth, lessons/tutorials on YT are too overwhelming for me in a sense, because there's still a lot of technical terms and things i don't know about yet, so i think it's cool that you're keeping it more simple. Love the comedy too, makes me feel like im back in kindergarden (which i think i should be skill-wise). I'm applying at the Conservatory this year, to study Electronic Music and Sound Art, and to get accepted, i'll have to pass an exam. One part of the exam, is a live perfomance- and i have no experience whatsoever. Which is why i've also been watching some of your live peformances, which helped me a great deal, seeing how it's done. Anyways, great videos! Looking forward to the next one :)!

That remron kinda like benadryl deleriant stuff. Well, making music on the stuff yields really weird results with no structure but instead a ton of creativity. You lose your motivation during a trip though almost indefinitely. That stuff sucks. So like justin beibers baby played so loud that your vision and hearing start to get a mind of their own. Maybe like loud enuph to like rattle your brain and also make you sleepy all at the same time or something. Such amazing visuals though, so damn interesting. Plus specific experiences. Dont try this if you have not already, but just about anyone on the internet knows deleriants mostly suck. As for its psychedelic effects, they really just seem to be caused by delirium, but the antiserotonergic effects can give it some lsd like visuals, portrayed from an artist more into abstract art. "Just put this whole thing into text to speach engine and layer it on top of this song and there you go." You can get the same effect by putting that whole song with the text to speach on top of "moody good - nightshade" I think it is.

Anand Ram search up jazz piano sample on RUclips yt2mp3 that shit loop a second of it, add some anime dialogue and vinyl crackle, put a kick on one and a snare on two and four and loop that shit for two minutes you're officially a producer

I know so many people with such a great taste for music and wonderfull ideas and listening skill. And they do not have any idea about composing and fundamentals about producing, that you already learn somewhere in your life. But they want to learn more for same reason as you came to watch this video. So there is no difference between you and manufactured producers. Its just reason to complain.
It is not about what you know or dont know, it is about efford you put in to not suck at producing.
honza kofiii don't agree, everything you said at the start about taste for music wonderful ideas etc - these are traits of a producer so you're kinda contradicting your own point :) , secondly I'm referring to this video in particular, nothing else and nothing against the creator, I'm simply saying the concept that you're producing and you don't realise you need to create energy or compose means you have a lot to learn.. Which is fine, but to have to TELL people that is indeed manufacturing a producer. An analogy - a boxer you need to teach how to punch, will never be as great as one with innate ability.
I love that you mentioned MGMT. But tell me, are the only songs you know by them titled "Kids," "Time To Pretend," and "Electric Feel?" Because every other song they've made is significantly better.
I'd even argue that Congratulations is a Psych Rock classic, MGMT (self-titled) is a perfect masterpiece especially on great headphones, and Little Dark Age is yet another masterpiece. These guys are amazing and we'd do best to appreciate and study their incredibly phenomenal music. I know they've changed how I listen to and create music. Peace
