Thanks for watching!
#oralb #pro2000 #repair
This is exactly what was wrong with my brush. An easy repair to bring back my brush to life. Great video! You are the man…
Was avout to throw mine away as it had stopped charging for some time and finaly ran out of juice. Glad I decided to check yputube fpr fix before I did that. Seems that I have the excat same damage on mine and I am going to buy a hotiron tomorrow to fix it. You just saved me 90 bucks!
Hi Mark,
thank you for this video, helped me to fix my 3766, same failure. I managed to repair the broken solder joint after watching. To open the device I pushed a size 6 hex-plus allen key inside the bottom hole and slowly bent it backwards until the bottom came loose. No broken plastic and after repair it came back in like nothing happened.
O.K., it's great that we have this video to repair our Oral B; however Brau charges enough money that this shouldn't happen at all. This is done on purpose, of course, to maximize profit. Suggest you complain to company and/or not buy it ever again until they make it easy to repair or replace the battery.
Did it!!!!!!Build in a new battery and it wasnt charging afterwards, with your videos help i noticed that one of my soldering points were to wide and connecting with one of the copper wires of the lower coil.Fixed it and now its charging. Not bad for a blond 61 year operasinger hé😂😂😂😂Thanks so much
This just save me today. I was about to go online and buy me a new one. Thank you so much.
Great video, unfortunately all the soldering was fine in mine. I touched it up anyway and it still wouldn't charge.
Then I borrowed a charger off a friend and it worked... So it was the charger that was the issue.
put the top black ring on before you put the bottom white cap on, place guts back inside and stand it up , you can then press down slightly on the body maximizing how much the shaft collar protrudes. if you put the bottom white cap on first , it`s spring loaded and trying to push the black ring on will only press the workings further into the body.
This took some finessing but your technique worked. Thank you!
This video has now saved yet another Oral B toothbrush from ending up in landfill. Same problem here, repaired with these instructions. Thank you 🙌
Same here with my Braun Oral-B Genius/Smart type 3765. Great video. I just did the soldering to reconnect the wire. It works fine now.
I thought my toothbrush wasn’t working. I took the head of the toothbrush off and turned on toothbrush and I saw the metal part moving just fine. I cleaned up all the gunk around the metal part and inside the toothbrush head where it attacked to the metal part and once I reconnected the toothbrush head to the metal part it worked fine.
Top tip : to fit the black ring back into place around the top of the machine, use your sink hole! Bleach it first and then shove the pointy bit into one of the little plug holes which will apply even pressure around the ring!
Hi Thanks for tip. was struggling to get it to engage properly until I read your tip. Tried it and it worked a treat many thanks
Great tip. I was struggling with this for two days. 😂
And you sir too are the man!! I already broke a nail trying to get it in... awesome tip, thanks. Worked like a charm...
You saved my money. Thank you
Awesome! Managed to fix mine too! Exactly the same issue in the very same spot! Thank you! And I have not used a soldering iron in over 20 years.
Exactly the issue! Thank you for empowering all of us along with our toothbrushes!
I did scatch mine quite a bit but in the end I managed to fix it! Had the exact same issue yours had. Thank you for the video!
The battery structure is nearly the same as a regular battery. They've got some nerve to make us pay for another toothbrush. I can see if it was a lithium-ion battery. There should at least be a rebate for recycling your old electric brush like there is when you recycle a car battery. People are throwing electric components in the public trash.
It used to be that way since De’Longhi bought Braun. I used to exchange old vs new handpieces at the local Braun store for reasonable money but after the acquisition, buying a complete package when they were in the offer turned out to be less expensive. It´s a shame. Unfortunately this video did not solve the charging issue of my brush, but it was worth a try before having to throw it away.
@@Hurzinger the Braun designer Dietrich Rams left as he was disgusted with this policy.
Exactly the same problem with mine. You’re an absolute star! Saved me having to buy another one
I’ve got another issue now where the sensor light stays on whenever I switch it on. It’s an Oral B pro 3 3000. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Interesting, I'm not sure how the sensor itself works so can't be any help there
thank to your video i was able to get it open in like a few mins. I used head gun instead of soaking it in hot water, turn out one of the of the wire broke off, all i had to do was solder it back and good again.
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. One of the wires from the coil to the board was broken and just needed to be re-soldered. Problem solved, and the toothbrush is charging again.
Thank you kindly my good sir. I had the exact same problem, and i repaired it the same way you did, with next to no experience in soldering electronics. Very glad i found this video
Great video.
I wish i had seen it BEFORE i tried to pry open my toothbrush and messed it up beyond repair (i tried to open it the wrong way).
Since i bought a new one ever since, i decided to see what was wrong with my old (now broken) one, and it seems it was also the solder on the left (one of the 4 that are next to each other).
Next time i won't do the same mistake and i will be ready to do a proper DIY repair job.
Thank you for the tips on how to open it! In my case it was water penetration through the top ring, and the button started to trigger only after drying out the entire internals. The battery indeed was good at 3.65V in ~3 years old brush. I've applied food-safe silicone on the top around the ring, will see how it stands.
Fabulous. In spite of my cack-handed soldering, managed to fix mine. Exactly the same problem, though on the other side at the base. Thanks.
Fixed mine too. No loose wires, i did re-solder the big solderpoints. Stretched up the spring as well.
😊 Thanks, same problam!
Thank you very much for your video, i got exactly the same, now it works.
Thank you so much, mine did not charge also. I was looking how to open it, and it had exactly the same problem with the broken wire from the coil.
Now its working again 😁
Same here. Fixed same place.
That’s a good idea, using your phone to pan in. 👍👍👍
Thans you very much dude
Almost every comment here is of someone who had the same issue.
I'll join the line - thank you for posting as exact same issue for me. Makes one wonder about the e-trash of the world.
Same thing happened to mine. This was a different cheaper model, I noticed it had a NIMH battery. Top came off the same but lower wouldn’t wedge off the base. I think the base prong was too short. I had to use a chisel. Also had to bridge with a capacitor leg. At least if I want to swap the battery in the future it looks a lot easier than with the ion.
Thanks for the video. Another item not going to the landfill is a good thing.
Lol its hard putting back that top black ring isn't it 🤣its tough being who we are, thanks a lot,I fixed mine using super glue, couldn't wait till the next day to get the solider, I was anxious, I had to fix it now. My son actually dropped mine when reaching for his 🤕
Awesome! Fixed two of similar ones. Fished them out of the trash and it was exactly as you described. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for the video, I was successful with the repair. Thanks a lot ;-)
The same issue with mu unit - thank you for that video. Strange coincidence that so many users have the same problem just few weeks after warranty.
Thanks for the video. It was exactly the same failure with my toothbrush!
This helped me save 50$. The red wires were totally loose, so re-soldering that was the fix, and it charges again ! Btw was my first time soldering, luckily i had the tools available !
Hi. Had the same issue with mine. Soldered it,sorted. Thanks for your help.
Great, broken wire easily repaired, now finally in recharge! Thanks very much!😁
Mine's brand new and won't charge. Oh! For a flashing green light! Dentures beckon 😬
Just rectified the exact same broken solder joint on my Oral B Pro 3000 3766. Must be a design weakness? Thanks!
Thank you
has the same problem with mine! thank you very much!
Brilliant!!!. See you next time at starbucks coffee on me.
Thanks, there was a same wire broken on my 3766 professional and now its working well! Is this their weak spot..
Thanks
Thanks for a wonderful video
I think I've got the secret of not breaking the tab! Below the battery & charge indicator lights find a spot on the rubber that is softer. The tab is latched in a cutout behind the rubber here. Press a fingernail into the rubber to unlatch it when you use the stand to lever it open.
(Needless to say, this knowledge came to me after breaking my tab and seeing the structure from the inside.)
Thanks, fixed my brush to.
Exactly the same problem in mine... just saved me spending on a new one...
You sir are the man!!!
Thank you so much! Fixed my daughter's brush in minutes. Thanks again and all the best!
Thank you! My model with exact same inside and exact same problem as yours so I just added another blob of solder (although yours is definitely the better way to do it!) and it started accepting the charge. Has to be a manufacturing issue.
Have you ever seen a n oral b triumph 7000 v1 constantly display "aufladen" after a battery replacement? I can't seem to reset it or get it to begin charging. I tested the base and it's good. There is no display to show it with the battery Icon appearing and showing it charging as usual. Any thoughts?
You can guess why I'm here. I suppose I need to get a soldering kit now...
Top - thanks a lot - was exactly the same problem!
Yep, same issue here on the other leg. Nice video thanks. Although, how on earth did you get the black ring back on at the end? I’m still struggling with the damn thing…
Such rip off . This is my last time I am buying oral B products. They should give us new ones . Didn’t even last 6 months
Hi, please help. My toothbrush just blinking. It's not completely die just sometimes it works sometimes not. Is it about the battery issue or should I disassembly mine like you do?
thanks i managed to fix mine too
ارجو تعرفني كيف اصلح فرجه اسنان fairy will
HELP i have this exct issue but dont own any metal or a souldering iron to fixx what can i do? will the thin spring from a pen work?
My model is different no washer at top - intermittent charging. Mine is called oral b pro timer .🤷♀️
Thank you this is exactly what was wrong with mine!!
Grazie, era proprio il problema del mio spazzolino. Grazie al tuo video riparazione facilissima.
Ha, my wire has broke off at that very same point! I shall report back!
Thanks for your video just what I'm looking for top man
On all electric tooth brushes these are a pain, that wire is a common fault and the tiny fuse,
if its the outer coil that`s broke you can un wrap a coil to get extra wire,to re solder.
Another repair replicator here - thank you!
I am **** with a soldering iron so it now has a looong run of solder. Fingers crossed it lasts.
😎👍
la qualité de la soudure refaite est : parfaite !!! rien a dire . quelle marque pour le fer a souder ???
Огромное спасибо за видео ! Видимо это дефект заводской. или специально заложенная поломка
Soldered the wireless charging coil, and it works again! I put some silicone on the top to avoid water going in as I don't know how well it will seal after opening it, didn't put any on the bottom as there seems to be a silicone like o-ring and it wasn't in too bad of a shape, hope it holds
Same issue now fixed thank you
use a little bit of a what? can't hear what that little silver rod is called. thanks. new to soldering, obvs.
Same exact issue with mine, same wire, will get the soldering iron out, cheers mate 👍🏻
the place i work in sells it for £25 which is like 44 aus😭
Thanks! Worked for me.
Same issue here. I am comfortable now to open it and try to repair it.
My non charging Oral B must literally be the one you’re featuring in the video. Absolutely genius to use the phone camera. Grabbed the soldering iron and had it fixed in ten minutes. I had a replacement in my Amazon basket ready to be ordered before I watched your video. Thanks bro…you saved me £60. x
(Kinda criminal that the charging components are so delicate. It’s almost as though they want them to fail after a few years so you have to buy a new one. Pah…don’t be so cynical)
THANK YOU! Same exact issue!
Thanks bud for the video
I’ve had my toothbrush for about 15yrs. It just now packed up. The blue silicone exterior, over time, turned black. Any ideas?
Thank you very much I like your video I really enjoyed this will come in future use if I have a drop my electric toothbrush now I know what to do, 👍👏🎈🎈🏴🙂
Very helpful thank you
God bless. I had the same issue and now it's fixed.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar!
how to pack top ring at last step. its very hard 😢
Great video mate, thanks. mine looks snapped on the + and -
Great! I was able to reair mine. Thanks a lot!
Thank you same problem when you are in Uk 🇬🇧 call me I will definitely buy you a coffee
Went and bought a soldering iron and was able to fix two broken toothbrushes. All thanks to you! 🙌
Hey, great fix. Will try on my Oral-B brush. Sane model too, not charging.
Great, same issue here, easy fix! most tricky is opening the bottom and putting back the top retaining ring :)
Great video. Thanks
What a voice! 😍
So it seems it is bad engineering in Braun company. I have exactly the same problem.
my toothbrush had exactly same break in soldered wire position. Now it is re-soldered and working again. Thanks for the very helpful video.
Thank you so much! My costco purchased oral-b couldn't charge and this video made it so easy to fin the problem. Great tip using the phone to find the faulty connection. Soldered just like you and the toothbrush is charging again! Saved myself $100.
Thanks I managed to repare mine it no only has some scratches from my knife when I was trying to open it but it works
