Perhaps you could demonstrate creating melodies using diminished sounds that start on the half-step below the root of the diminished scale (half-whole diminished scale). It can be done using the minor 3rd principle of diminished scales.
Thanks for another great lesson Nathan! You really deserve a bigger audience. If I can make one suggestion (that would be good for me and maybe others)... when you display the score and tab it would be great if there was a way we could see your fretboard to observe fingering and other aspects of technique while you are playing the lines. I don't mean to nit-pick - everything about your lessons are already excellent!
Thanks for your good lesson. It's new to me that you can substitute a Cmaj7 chord for a Cdim7 chord. It's simular to a C6 chord. If I play Dm7, G7 and Cdim7 than the diminished chord sounds not completely resolved to me.
Hi ARTI! Thanks for your comment! The Cdim7 will need to resolve to the Cmaj7 eventually. It's used to delay the resolution to the I chord. Sounds "Out" but, when it's resolved it makes it all work. Just another tool to have in your tool bag!
Nathan, you don’t need tabs so often. Simply show the cord play the cord. Your audience will grasp it faster. I’m an intermediate player with good knowledge of my fretboard. Sorry but didn’t like this particular video.
Hi Rob. Thanks for your comment and I appreciate your support of this channel! That's always tricky... often times in my videos I want to provide information for many levels of players. I do always try and stack information on top of each other in the videos, so skipping ahead (after I explain how to build diminished chords) could be the way to go for you. I understand how that can be frustrating though :/ I'll continue to try and think about things like this while editing future videos!
I like your channel. The reason RUclips doesn't promote your channel is because you're a White male talking about high art/cultured music. They are philosophically and politically against everything that you represent, even if in your personal life you repeat the elite's morality and their establishment slogans about diversity being great, when it's clearly about harming White people. It's the same in all of our European countries. Notice how with all of the corporate promotion of BLM there's never any mention of the greatest black people of the last century, Parker, Miles, Coltrane, Barry Harris etc. You'd think those sort of people would be icons of the astro-turfed mainstream media fawning over black people, but nope, they ignore them and promote only the black people who serve the anti-White agenda.
You are a good teacher..
Thank you! 😃
Thanks again for excellent content!
Glad you enjoy it!

You couldn't keep your bigotry to yourself.
