The game isn't based on a creepypasta; it's actually based on an Italian Giallo film called "The New York Ripper," by Lucio Fulci, released in 1982. Which shows that the people who are in charge of Puppet Combo are bigtime horror fans. The killer in that film speaks with a Donald Duck-esque voice. So maybe that's where they got the idea for the duck mask?
Ryan, in order for you to escape when he sees you: keep the adrenaline bar up by repeatedly left-clicking. This will allow you to run and go faster until he loses track of you. Otherwise the panic bar fills up and you can't move or see clearly and he will kill you. Had the same issue the first time I played it. Like this so he can see!

The reason he kept dying was because when the panic/adrenaline metre shows up, you have to pacify yourself by clicking your mouse constantly which gets very tiring so I would suggest being more careful with your movement and not being seen by the enemy. This increases panic and decreases your adrenaline, which slows you down. It's a control that not a lot of people are familiar since it's inconspicuous. ALSO, very important!! There is a pistol in the subway bathroom. A lot of gamers always miss it because they run on the right side of the tracks instead of the left! The pistol is loaded with five bullets and this will stun the killer so that you can move around for longer and more freely.
