Flybywire A32NX Mod: flybywiresim.com/a32nx
I am a real world Airbus pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the new detailed simulation of the longest baby 'bus by Toliss as well as the new MSFS a320 NEO. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

This content is pure gold.
Thank you!
i realize I'm kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Zachary Dariel i watch on Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Zachary Dariel I watch on flixzone. You can find it by googling =)
@Felipe Brock Yup, I've been using flixzone for months myself :)
You can always go around!!
If you have the fuel! Haha.
Gliders be like: -_-
If it don’t look right coming down
21:28 @320 Sim Pilot dishing out love relationship advice. :)
Thank you .I'm learning lots from your videos
You are welcome Rob, glad to hear it!
I currently fly the Airbus, and I STILL come back and watch some of your videos. You should sell these to the airlines lol. My airline could really use them.
The mountains stress me out😂
As with all of your videos, another really informative and well-thought-out presentation of an all too often ignored area of the sim. Thanks again!
One thing that's not 100% clear - and several content creators have missed it - is whether you actually pull back on the stick or not on a Missed Approach? It's an instinctive reaction for beginners to do so, particularly if they've reached minimums and are manual.
It would be great a video with the process to go to the alternative airport if needed
Roger!
@@320SimPilot so there's a possibility?
Yet another fantastic video! Just want to add my many thanks for your channel and passion for flying. Happy New Year 320 Sim Pilot!
Your videos are an outstanding learning tool for the A320. I have learned so much, and wasn't sure how to configure go arounds in the mcdu. So, thx again for a great tutorial! Time to practice.
Thank you, really pleased to hear it has helped! I hope you get many happy hours with the bus!
Great video as always Captain 👍
Hey! Been loving your videos recently and I'm wondering if you could please do a tutorial on how to read various charts as I've been struggeling with understanding them for quite a long time.
Happy holidays!!! As always, awesome vid!!!. Thank you very much for taking some of your time to teach us something really important. Have a great day!. Cheers from Perú.
Excellent. Finally a Go Around Tutorial. Thank you very much!
Thank you. Your videos are the best. So helpful and intuitive.
Ive used the fslabs for a long time and I was surprised to see how well this mod is made !! Can’t wait to see more features coming
It has progressed incredibly fast, I am very excited for its future! Thanks for watching.
@@320SimPilot you should get P3d though and the fslabs ! You won’t regret it 😜
Hey man, thanks for the content hope you had a merry Christmas and wishing you a happy new year!
As always great and informative video Captain !
Very useful tuto. Things are getting clearer and clearer with your nice tutos. A question though : what is the difference between activating the approach in the MCDU and arming it through the APPR button ? Thank you so much ! Jean-Michel. France.
Amazing video, and channel in general. Keep up the awesome work 👏👏👏.
I really learn alot about the airbus, I find it fascinating.
One request, if I may, when you work on the MCDU, would it possible to bring it to front view (ctrl 8 I think} so it would be easier to see, rather then looking at it from the captain view?
Great tutorial
I may didn't watch some videos if you but i heard that you are the greatest tutor for real life A320
This was incredibly helpful! Doing a manual go-around into Jackson Hole is no fun. I'm going to try it again the correct way thanks to your tutorial.
Excellent, I hope it goes well!
great and helpful tutorial as usual, Thanks a lot !
Excellent tutorial! And hi again to your lovely cat as well!!!
Thanks for watching as always Joe!
Awesome video as usual. Sure would be nice if my sim didn't crash to desktop since the last update. I'd love to practice this procedure.
Wow... Amazing tutorial as always, Thank you!
You are welcome Harold!
Amazing video !
awesome video! please use ctrl+5 for a close up view on the FMS! it's easier when watching from a phone
Great video! The app is cool, but very exhausting :) Happy new year!
Great tutorial as usual, you’re my goto guy for the msfs a320.
I still struggle finding the right stars, working out ahead of time which runway will be in use and understanding the data on charts especially around dh heights and what happens at runways above sea level etc. Not sure if you’ve done a video for that yet.
get a 1 month subscription to navigraph and if your not using it use simbrief. Navigraph overlays the approach plates / sids and stars onto the routing map so you can actually follow what sid/star your would be flying, see the constraints etc. it help to understand immensely.
I just keep my computer open, and when i get landing clearance i just look at the map I pulled up earlier
great video and tutorial - thank you .
fantastic as always, thanks for the vid.
You are very welcome, thanks for watching!
always really helpful videos! you make it very interesting to actually learn the process. maybe you can make a tutorial of what it takes to be a real pilot :p
Really love your channel! Very good at explaining the Airbus, after watching your videos I much better understand the Airbus and it’s... oddness compared to Boeing!
Fantastic, thank you! It's great to hear they are useful, I do enjoy the 'bus but it is quite different indeed!
Omg amazing!! Exactly what I needed :)
Would also love to see set up and execution of a hold in the fbw!
Great tutorial, as ever!
Maybe a really short Video to show the Soft Go Around funktion, when they got the bugs fixed on that feature?
I will be investigating the soft GA as soon as it is fully implemented, absolutely! Thanks for watching as ever.
It's a great day for flying
Thanks for this !
Great video!
Thank you!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS your go around video!!! ive needed this (my landings sometimes a bit* off of the center line)
*a lot but i get away with it because of the thick runway width BUT 40% of the time I get it bang on the glide slope
Do you land with the keyboard?
@@nickde6339 No I use either a joystick or a yoke but I'm new to flight simming in general (hoping to improve my knowledge... Etc. On aviation)
Thank you so much for another insightful video. I was wondering if you had an opinion on the A320 Cadet Training that came out today?
thanks for the tutorial :D
perfect video! Can you please do an in-depth video about fuel? How do we calculate block or reserve, what do we do when we're low on fuel? I guess it would be an emergency, which can be a video in and of itself too!
Perhaps a new "Emergency" series, and talk about failures sim provides and how to handle them properly :)
excellent, thank you.
can you cover a single-engine go around at some point that would be lovely. cheers
Mega appreciated, thank you. Have the best New Year you can., with best wishes from NZCH.
You are welcome, Happy New Year to you too!
just got msfs, this bro is the nost helpful
I know what you meant, but when you said the runway is 780 feet in the air, it sounds like it’s not on earth, but actually floating in the sky!
14:29 weird glitches in the background lol
anyways nice tutorial , helped me with my vatsim
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and yes they were some impressive mountains!
Don't forget to lower GEAR when you again prepare to land after GA... Had CAT III landing, too much speed, overshoot G/S, executed GA. Circled around, tried to do everything according to checklist, fog low as hell - finally saw the runway, and landed without gears -.- Also a23nx will issue oral warning - TOO LOW (or TERRAIN - PULL UP) which I totally ignored ... Lesson learned :D
That's the reason, why there are checklists for all phases of flight. Makes it so easy to NOT FORGET essential things!
Just caught this video. Excellent! Quick question though. If you manually did the TOGA, is that preferred? I mean, what's the purpose of what appears to be a TOGA button on the throttle?
Would you ever use that? I'm browsing through your videos now, so if you've covered this in a different video of yours, I might find it, but in any case a link to it would be appreciated if it exists!
Thank you so much! 😎
Very good explanation. i have a problem that when i set TOGA the auto pilot disengages and it doesn't even turn to heading mood. i have to fly manually to the approach and the connect the auto pilot again.
Nice video. I still need to try to use the MCDU. I'll probably search for an MCDU for dummies video so I can understand the basis of it.
Thank you very very much for your really informative content!
Hi, thank you for watching and your kind message! It’s an interesting question you have. You will of course tell ATC you are going around, they may then use radar vectors to guide you for another approach instead of following the full missed approach. This depends on the airport of course! I have a video on this topic a bit here: ruclips.net/video/BNtAPMBvd-k/видео.html
These are good - but to learn it would be nice to put the departure/arrival info into your description. I find to learn is to copy the video/approach/flight exactly so you know whats happening. took my a while to work out to get a flight plan like yours. In the end i did IFR low altitude airways, LSGG > LFLL , Arrivals (AMVA5S 17L) Approach (ILS 17L) . I hope it was right
I did notice the flight plan again once in purple text on the vid after. so all good.
Thank you so much for your series of videos on the A320 neo in msfs. I’m just back into flight simming after a long break after ms pulled many years ago. I’m using the Xbox option as it’s kinder on my budget now I’m retired !! I notice there are a lot of differences in what I see and what you are showing, is this purely down to the aircraft choice I have in Xbox ?
Any video on missed approach and then to a holding pattern followed by another attempt at the ILS?
Thanks for your vids again! It seems that you have everything that I want to know in an A320! Do you know how to have a better offline ATC, other than using VATSIM? It seems that the default ATC always gives late clearance for descent..and it becomes a missed approach as a result. In real life we need to have clearance to descend? Thanks!
Your videos are very helpful, thanks for that! What about a go around just before touchdown, due to heavy crosswind for instance? I suppose the same rules apply?
Thank you Hans! Great questions, I have covered this a bit before but will also make a new video on it soon in MSFS. Here is my original video: ruclips.net/video/4Xoktqrq_yU/видео.html
Thanks.
LOL, what are the Menhir on the right at 14:20??? This game is really funny!
Excellent video, very well explained and useful as always! Thank you for doing this, I'm learning a lot!
You are welcome, thanks for watching!
Thank you for your great videos! How do you like the A320mod? How do you compare it to the Aerosoft A320 or the FF or toliss? Keep it up!
Hi, thanks for watching. The mod is great but is not at the level of the ToLiss of FF aircraft yet. However in some areas it has more features! As MSFS matures I think the mod team will do an amazing job and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it reach a similar level.
Could you make a Manual Holding tutorial in the A32nx ? :D
Thanks! I had no clue as to what needed to be entered into the FMC for the GO AROUND phase, nor how to "tell" the aircraft that I was no longer in the APPR phase.
Very helpful!!
Great video's! I tried landing at Lanzarote GCRR RWY 03 but the approach was pretty weird going from FL200 to 4300ft in about 6 miles. Can you check that out? If that is right, or am i missing something. I had to go around a few times :P
Great video and thanks again for your time for doing these videos I do have one question what sensitivity would you recommend for this aircraft so it's realistic. Thank you
Hi Reece, you are very welcome and thank you for your kind message. I have not yet found sensitivity settings that I am happy with, especially as the sensitivity seems to change a lot dependent on the stage of flight. I will do a video once I figure out what I like!
@@320SimPilot thanks for your reply really appreciate it. Yeah completly understand it does seem that way especially landing, takeoff sensitivity is fine but landing it's a bit less sensitive. Thanks Again
So, in the legacy MSFS one could fly the MAP and actually see the MAP track depicted on the PFD and on the MCDU. Is FBW not yet up to that? Currently, it appears that after cleaning up the aircraft after the MA and calling ATC we're just getting clearance for another approach or whatever...and even that seems to be messed up.
At 12:37 , did you accomplish this view by using free drone camera? or is there a new fixed mode where you can move the camera from that view?
Hey, not sure if you still monitor old videos, but here we are. After attempting a go around the flight plan is no longer in the mcdu. Is that a new version problem or does it not work if you do it too early or late? I'm using the newest development version since experimental is not a thing anymore.
Can you explain why you put 980 DA in the spot for an MDA?
I have installed the latest FLYBYWIRE 5.1 but the autopilot heading and lateral navigation are still not working for me. How did you get it to work?
How do you have a different liverie for it? For me to use the flybywire mod, it forces me to use the liverie for it...
I can't see any waypoints in the Flight plan page in the MCDU! They all disappear after going around. (A waypoint disappears when I've passed it in my flight)
Please help
my a32nx version has not got the Terr on ND, which version A32NX?
Thank you for this detailed video.
After go around , once flaps are retracted , do we need to put CRZ ALT in PROG page ?
You’re welcome! No normally we would not unless you are planning to divert a long distance!
@@320SimPilot okk... Understood. Thank you.
thank you, if you had to divert, how do you then activate that phase of the flight plan? I have it all pulled in from simbrief just intrigued how to activate diversion route
I think most would pre-emptively put the alternative airport into the secondary flight plan and activate that if needed. So when that feature is added it'll be pretty easy.
there is no alternative routing atm in the a320, so you would need to reprogramme waypoints in the existing.
my flight plan clearly shows the alternate waypoints and destination under the primary destination line though
Isn’t it that after 2 missed approaches that you divert? Or is it 3?
Please how to landing at EGLC London 5.5 degree my plane always jumping when landing
How do you get the engine view from inside the cabin, also do you use any video capturing device? I always use Nvidea software to record screen but suffers from game stuttering if on high graphics setting.
It’s from one of the drone fixed views.
I tried to go around to one of the locations starting with R. it wouldnt do it. I had to choose any location with a DMExx and it went to that. I will make a video on my attempt.
When do you put on the appr button
Is it possible to use this app on Xbox since MFSM is on console too?
If anybody sees this, how do you set up for a Missed Approach that has waypoints specified during the ascent, or a holding pattern? Is it automatically inputted when you select which approach you want to make in the MCDU?
Thanks
Yeah! I was wondering the same too, as it is implemented in the Fenix A320
What happens when the flight plan vanishes
My waypoints on the MCDU disappear as I pass through them so essentially by the time I get to the go around there aren't any previous way points to fly direct to. I have to manually enter them again into the MCDU.
@@butterypotato7984 unfortunately not.
@007markymark007 Did you find a solution to this?
@@osmovallo I don't know if this has been rectified but I use the Fenix A320 now
"Graphics Simulator 2020" - A320SimPilot
It certainly wins that title!
Full flaps, Gear down, 22% Thrust and not slowing down due to any drag. That can not be right, shouldn't it be abut 40-45% thrust for that configuration for landing. That is probably why this plane feels like a cessna and i can do a 360 degree turn in less than 30 seconds haha
the autopilot in A320 seems broken. just doesnt navigate, flies in circles and goes into suicide dives. i have no problem with the 747 or any other plane, just the A320. any ideas whats going wrong?
Use the FBW mod, not the stock plane.
@@hjr2000 i dont know what that is, have you got a link?
Hi, it can be found here: flybywiresim.com/a32nx
@@320SimPilot thanks!
May I ask, what airline do you fly for?
It's confidential
My plane won’t let me re-enter my approach into the F-PLN page
Edit: never mind, I got it in the FMC. Now it just won’t go to the first waypoint (it’s in NAV mode)
That camera makes it hard to concentrate on what you are doing.
First! 😋
Haha well done Matteo! Hope you are well
@@320SimPilot Very well thanks, I hope you had a nice Xmas.
