- Whatever you want call these things, they are easy to make and I don’t understand why they are so expensive to buy. They are mainly an exercise in sanding

These are absolutely beautiful and carry such cherished family ties! Briee and Michael are so blessed that you share your creative talents.
MemoryKeepersVideos thanks so much.
Simply beautiful ! Each one is a one of a kind and a part of their heritage! Very Nice!
Yes they are! Thank you for commenting. Happy holidays.
Love this video, Larry. And the sentimental value of these good looking boards for your family. I'm sure they went down well!
Thank you. Yes they loved them. Many fond memories of grandpa’s farm. Thanks for watching
I love family history. These board, made by dad/grandpa from a tree on great grandpa's land are absolute keepers!
I couldn't agree more. Thanks for watching
Great job! Appreciate the work and the information.
Thank you, your feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks a lot , Happy New Year to you as well.
Wow some of that cherry has some incredible figure. I'm sure your kids cherish those boards, I'm doing the same thing with some walnut my grandparents have had in their backyard since the 40's, most of it I'm building guitars with but the rest will be charcuterie boards for the family.
Thanks, they do love them. You’re building guitars? Wow, that’s beyond my skill set. I made a dulcimer from a kit several years ago. I love working with walnut, I’m sure your family will love those gifts. Happy New Years
Nice video. I made cutting boards (not as many recipients as you) so didn't have to work as hard. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I’m sure your recipients will love them. Happy holidays. Larry
love the boards, very inspiring, hope your ankle surgery went well and you're back on your feet
Thanks for watching. Ankle is doing great thanks. Glad you liked the video.
Good job dad
Thank you. Happy holidays
Hi Larry. Hope the ankle healed well and your back in the shop. Love these boards! I was wondering with your planer if you had that extra board in there to ensure flatness?
Thanks for watching. Ankle is doing great, changed my lifestyle. As for the board in the planer. It was to prevent snipe on the ends of the boards. I usually try to keep the stock a little long so I just cut it off but didn’t have any stock to spare on these. That was a piece of butcher block my daughter gave me from some remodeling they did. It has since warped.
Wishing you happy holidays. Larry
Beautiful work. 👍👍
Thank you. Feedback is much appreciated.
@@LSatch : I really love this stuff. Just building my shop right now. Spent a small fortune on “toys”.
@@thebobloblawshow8832 it’s easy to spend a ton of $$$ on big boy toys. I’ve been collecting and accumulating since 1973. My 1979 Sears table saw is on it’s last leg, the bearings are going out. Trying to decide what to replace it with. Do you have a table saw yet? If so, what did you go with?
@@LSatch I’ve got a Craftsman. It’s aging out though. I’m looking at a new Magnum table saw. Magnum is KMS Tools signature brand, but I don’t think they are in the US. I would definitely consider a Saw Stop if they weren’t twice the price. Wait till the wife sees the new saw. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@thebobloblawshow8832 For me it’s between saw stop and fushion 2.
Larry, nice presents.
Thank you Gyula. Happy New Year
Good job
Thanks and thanks for watching.
A great story about the wood source. I’ve made my first cheese/cracker & cutting boards. I’ve used mineral oil as you did. Do you see a need to wax them as well? Some do, seems some don’t.
I think waxing wouldn’t hurt. Kinda like belt and suspenders. After the first use the wax will be gone, at least most of it. I told my girls to renew the oil once or twice a year depending on use. A bottle of food grade mineral oil at my Kroger is less the $3.00 and will last for years. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy holidays.
Great video. And nice work. Subbed fo sho!
Cheers!
Thanks, you’ve got a great channel too! Subbed back at ya. Looks like we share similar things
@@LSatch Thanks, brother!
Beautiful!! What type of blade do you use with your jigsaw? I would like to try this but never used a jigsaw before.

I like these, Bosch T101AO 3-1/4 In. 20 TPI Clean for Wood T-Shank Jig Saw Blades. A jigsaw was one of my first power tools. A corded drill was first. Of course, battery powered tools were nonexistent back then 😄
Blessed children. I am wondering what you did to one of the boards with the wood burner. I thought it might be a branding tool but I only saw it on one board. (?) So nice ! What was the thickness of the boards once finished ?
Yes, it was a branding, I branded all of them.
ruclips.net/video/hGjj9rc6O8w/видео.html
The boards were just over 3/4” when finished. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciate your feedback.
@@LSatch Thank you for responding. Glad your ankle is doing well. I came across your videos while I was looking on you tube for some unique rustic cutting boards. I have 5 regular angle.corner ones that I display on my wall using a plate rack to hold them. I really like the off set curve style the best too.
Hey, quick question. What keeps these cutting boards from warping and/or twisting with time?
There is no guarantee that they won’t. The key is starting with kiln dried wood or in the case here, air dried for 20+ years. The other is proper care. They should only be wash or cleaned with as little warm water as it takes to clean it. NEVER in the dishwasher! They are such an easy project you can make with just a drill, jig saw and sandpaper. I can’t believe the prices I people are getting for them. Hope this helps,
You need to get yourself a draw knife for removing that bark. It’ll make the job so much easier.
I have a draw knife but thought it was easier the way I did it.
Do you sell any of the things you make
Sorry Lori but I just make them for family. Thanks for asking.
Dems purty!!
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback
