Easily my favorite out of all the Omega characters. Really liked how they improved upon his weaknesses throughout SF4 and how they incorporated some of these concepts into 5.
If ur taking requests, I'd love to see Gen. I felt any discussion about him upon release was completely overtaken with his infinite and I know literally nothing about him outside that.
Hey Baf, dope series. As one of many that played 4 to death and back during its heyday, its really cool to see full breakdowns of the Omega variants. Just to get SOME meaning to the changes, you need to understand contextually what the character's all about in the first place, and most people in my scene only had like 2 characters. The way you focus on the way the specials interact with the game and follow it up with sample bnbs really makes me feel like you're peeling away at the obnoxious parts of relearning characters
@@miscellaneouscam953 The English naming gives us a clearly North American black boxer named Balrog and a megalomaniacal wanna be dictator named Mike Bison.
@@Phos9 I don't mind it being different across regions, but I wish it was canonically retconned in rather than "Eh, we didnt want to step on toes 3 decades ago and now we're here"
This really does a good job of reminding me of why I loathed SF4's design and balance direction. All good damage is meter dependent (unless you're Akuma maybe). All combos rely on difficult low frame links, with wildly varying reward (lol Vega). The game was for most of its life a fireball fest, which they tried to fix by adding absurdly damaging fireball punishes as ultras, while also making any other type of ultra near useless by making them harder and harder to confirm into.
@Blue Ruki Most of the combos in Street Fighter 4 rely on you timing a button, or often a series of buttons, within 1/30th or 1/60th of a second. Vega was particularly egregious, as he had the latter, known as one frame links, on his most basic combos... And they did garbage damage despite being absurdly hard to do.
What about them? You can parry it low or high. With one or a few parries you can potentially throw urien out of his meaty or his unblockable setup. It's overly risky for corner stuff but you don't have much alternative for the midscreen unblockables so it's always worth going for there.
@@machineheadslump Not tight for the first one, second is easy but variable. If Urien hits you during a parry you might never get the window to input a throw, so if that happens it meant you had to parry more before throwing to cover urien's normal too.
I think the reason is because here we have Bison as Dictator, Balrog as Boxer and Vega as Claw, but in Japan the names are different. Vega is Dictator, Bison is Boxer and Balrog is Claw. It's a name change that happened years ago because Balrog was originally called Mike Bison, being a reference to Mike Tyson but they changed it here and not in Japan for some reason. So he put there in case a Japanese that also understands English can see the title and not get confused.

It had been a while at the time lol

To be absolutely clear, ex scissors > st.mp > ex scissors is possible, it's just very very tight.
He can be a meter hungry dude but Im noticing some ABSURD meter build from his combos, some 3 bars effectively become 2 bars combos
My personal favorite Omega character, just because of his meterless damage.
This is also one of the MANY reasons I am a Q main in 3s.

I forgot. Thank goodness these are back.
Nice. He does do really good damage even in the context of omega
I really wish capcom had just put their foot down and matched the names between regions with SF4

Whats with the dual names?
To remove ambiguity from the name swap
Just came to ask if I’m the only one playing this or am I still valid for wanting to play this over sfv?
From what I see in multiple comment sections of SF4 content, you are definitely not the only one.
Personally I never played it
SF4 a truely skill based game, unlike SF5.
