Dagupan residents see hope

Tzu Chi Eye Center in 2022 started working with Dagupan City government to provide eye consultations and surgeries for the city's disadvantaged patients. While Tzu Chi's volunteer doctors and nurses would go to Dagupan to screen residents for eye diseases, the local government would assist with the patients' pre-surgery laboratory requirements and provide vehicles to transport them, in batches, to Manila for the operation. As of March 2024, this cooperation has resulted in 240 surgeries for cataracts, pterygium, and retina.
