Funny how this event quest fits more as her character's story quest than some character's story quests (where we focus on some random NPC while being accompanied by the respective character)

Flame-chasers were dead from the start, everyone died on Salt Lake city were revived, and so far the deaths on Mars were merely on a simulator, with Coralie's status still unconfirmed. Just my conspiracy thoughts playing but i'd like to think that devs regretted killing Himeko that they had to bring her back on HSR and designed an archon based on her. Also being saved by someone called "Captain" was too much of a coincidence
The Traveler is already an oddity from the beginning: Can use elemental power without vision; can purify abyss corruption, an ability introduced in the prologue and Natlan quest remind players of. And this quest reminds players that the Traveler is also not registered by Irminsul. A loophole they used to save Hutao.
I mean he is meant to be this kind of hero for story purposes, because without him they couldn't pull out this tear jerker, it proves that you can have an almost perfect hero and still write a compelling story, I mean it was still a mostly mental struggle for the Traveler as well and it does kinda put his experience he was taught during the journey and interactions with different kind of individuals including the Fatui and Abyss to learn how to creatively bend the rules 😂
She's been my fav since even before she was released. I was like no way hoyo was bout to off my fav char after 4 yrs 😭. But this was so great. This was the type of Hu Tao content I was waiting for. 10/10 latern rite for sure!
the great thing to this year lantern rite is the story, what happen to natlan night kingdom is parallel to liyue life and death border, and ningguang and beidou talking about it in the last part that they may also happen in other nation, i think its a hint from hoyo
wait... next event is in inazuma and remember the domain where ei used to stay were all dark and creepy in the trailer .. and somehow the traveler and ei were there to fight something too so maybe natlan have broken something and causing all these little chaos hhhhhh

So far: -Mondstadt - Nothing yet -Liyue - Sacrificed Liyue Tree God and Butterfly to mend the afterlife. Then repeated it but unsacrificed the butterfly by Descender. -Inazuma - We already cleansed Inazuma thrice. Makoto's gift, the Thunder Sakura cleansing, and the sidequest where you help the Ferryman collect all the time-lost ghosts and take them to the afterlife. -Sumeru - We helped Nahida burn Ruhkdevata's remains clean. Nobody remembers. -Fontaine - Didn't need one, Fontainians were Oceanids, they return to the sea. -Natlan - Sacrificed an Angel and Capitano to mend the afterlife. Had to burn the afterlife clean a bunch.
6:29 After the nod of relief, her eyes, and the shading underneath really sells the emoting of this scene perfectly. One of the best in the game to date.
quality animation Improved, story is really good not gonna lie, I really like how the interaction between the visitor of Lantern like Candace and added rewards is also okay. + I need more Voice Dialogue for Lumine and Aether(I thought there will stop using it after Natlan 5.3 Quest) So far this my favorite lantern rite
Lets all request to Mihoyo to add all these quest cutscenes into 1 folder or on the adventure handbook for us to watch those incredible scenes without re-doing the whole quest. Absolute cinema imo.

Great Cutscene 8/10. They could have made this even better though by making Traveler use his newfound pyro powers to save Hu Tao to show the growth he had with this journey plus you know, Hu Tao is pyro so yeah would have been more cool but this one is alright.

The main character finally using their powers to move the plot forward isn't fanservice, it's just good writing, for once. If you prefer the punching bag & good for nothing cameraman type of writing, you'd probably want to stick with Fontaine.

@@leonakalionking Well you can see this quest has some parallel with Natlan's AQ. The guardians of the torches : Yelan, Baizhu, Xianyun, Xiao, Keqing, Beidou. Except for Xianyun (but has similar role with Xilonen) they can be compared to Natlan's 6 heroes. Also Qiqi is doing Kachina's role while Lanyan is doing Citlali's role. It's not new thing when they write Inazuma's AQ a bit messy so Liyue is still getting better writings and Chinese Pride in Genshin's developer. Natlan is not bad story per se but they get better writing for Chinese Lantern as well.
No they didn’t, Natlan’s finally was just fine, using the “Mavuika is too perfect” argument is a weak excuse. Her ongoing struggle is forgetting that she is still human and can’t solve absolutely everything on her own. Not every character has to have the copy/paste of them struggling mentally and physically in order for them to be a great character.

Not every people (also a woman) that needs to be damsel in distress to have char development. She is already developed far before Traveler meets her.
