I think we just need to assume that most growers use those synthetic sleeves (death plugs)to root cuttings.
I’ve purchased succulent plants from IKEA that were rooted in small plastic baskets, presumably in nutrient-rich water.

What are the plant care arrangements? You take care of your plants and I'll take care of mine?? Do they argue over plant care? how does it work? I'm genuinely curious. Lol.
