I am so happy that the reproduction of a masterpiece does not automatically involve classic music - it's like Vegemite and toast they may go together but you got to like it -
It taked a lot time, days, weeks to get this painting done to Vermeer. It's harder to make a painting, from the start to the end, then just reproduce it.
It is much easier to make a copy, and Vermeer used another process to paint that involves more time and work. it's more than what you see on the surface.
Maravilloso!
+tabitha wingler I am sure it is a tracing, using a projector or some other means. It was not drawn "freehand". However, I am also confident that this artist can draw well. He certainly shows considerable skill with paint. Still, drawing very accurately and with good style is the hardest thing imo.
Johannes Vermeer lived around 400 years ago, I think that to find the right paint and materials in that time was not easy ,he had also to take care of more then 10 children, due to all the suffering he died very young.
beautiful painting but you have one mistake or problem in the Right eye the white distance in the eye should be smaller ,I live in holland Delft city ,Delft is city of johannes vermeer who painted this painting, and now I am
Wow, well done, it is perfect and the music is sooo beautiful!I went to Delft in March and saw the Vermeer museum/exhibition but was pretty disappointed. No real paintings, just a few prints on wooden boards, a little movie on Delft, a wall displaying Vermeer's family and one room where they show painting utensils used, so that one was a total let down. Not worth visiting... But I saw a photographer where people can dress up as the girl with the pearl earring and other figures from Vermeer's time... that was a cool idea.
Yes, next time I will. Been to the Van Gogh Museum, but was on Amsterdam only four days so time was rather tight and I imagine given by the size from the outside the Rijksmuseum you'll need some time in there....
lamprete I didn;t quite know what was there, I thought it could be interesting, as Delft was Vermeer's hometown. Reading your comment now I should've rather gotten of the train earlier in Den Haag instead... :-)
Good copying, though it looks like it's basically all done with alla prima painting, whereas Vermeer worked by building up layers over a grisaille or dead paint layer. I've copied this painting too -- arguably with less success since I am worse at copying shapes, so it looks like a different girl -- but I tried to copy what's known of the technique and found certain subtleties of the color, like the gray in her turban, seem to be from the monochrome showing through.
Her left eye is not bigger. The size of her eyes are exactly as in the original painting. The camera is not located in front, but as you can see it is moved to the right, so there is a perspective optical distortion.
@@TOPofART The original almost looks as if she has a slight hint of an almost smile, as if Vermeer caught her in the moment as she was just at the very beginning of a smile, or perhaps unsure that she should? But that must be very difficult to duplicate, but very beautiful all the same. I love Vermeer’s work, had the opportunity to see a few of his paintings at the Rijksmuseum 🙂👍🏼
The first time I saw this painting by Vermeer, I fell in love with it. I now have a picture of her hanging in my room.

Amazing, brilliant, spectacular, no more words to define this work...
Johannes Vermeer would be proud you did justice to his famous painting ( Girl with the pearl earring) beautifully done
No:) we not used black for the background. We used raw umber. The camera gives high contrast to the painting and the background looks as black.
TOPofART Painting Reproductions brilliantly executed
I wish I had your ability- beautiful work.
The music is apposite, too.
It is a beautiful painting and one learns a lot of Vermeer during all the hours it takes to paint this nice painting.

I absolutely love this ! Gotta try it . Would like explanatory comments as to what colors were used , type of brush etc .
Amazing!!
TALENT
you made it seem easy :)
Probably took Vermeer months to do this and this guy does it in an hour. Wow

it looks as though the left eye is a bit big or off in someway almost like someone with a glass eye. Still a magnificent painting I would be proud of

Rất đẹp ❤
This almost made me cry, youre so good. I want to buy one!
What type of paint does he use? Oil? Acrylic etc?
완전좋아요 ㅎ
Where do you look to the original pictures while painting? Or do you study them before starting?
Amazing. If you can show how you mix the color, that will be more helpful.
can you tell me what's the music you are using

Beautiful painting ... and Can you plz tell me the music ... Where can I find ?
How long did it take
Please please tell me you didn't use black for the background...
Did you use lead white? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, i know little to none about painting...only history.)
How did you do the outline so well? I tried make it as close to the original one but I couldn't make it.
what is the colour that you use to make the skin darker?

The original paintings are in "het Mauritshuis" in Den Haag. Its not very far from Delft, but "het Mauritshuis" is quite expensive.
+Danny30011980 maybe you should go to "rijksmuseum" in amsterdam. there are alot masterpieces over there

Good work, but it would be better if u hadn't pencil sketch it first ....
Wtf how was he supposed to paint it without the base sketch
Her left eye is disproportionately larger and deformed than in the original painting.
