      As badass as this is, him using gentrys song really shows how elite gentry was with his routine construction. His tricks flowed with the tempo of the music, he had certain music queus, like the "whats up" part, it really all just felt like the song was made around the routine, and vice versa. This routine is still a banger, but in my opinion, using gentrys song really shows how good he was 💯

    The only thing that surprised me is that he didn't win all divisions this year, his style is pure efficiency in every division.

    It’s not hard just to compare his play with the winners of 2012 and 2013 who also did hops elements, but didn’t base their whole performance on them and that’s looked more and more professional, even the fact that he almost run away from scene in the left corner makes the right judgment on his style 👎
    Talking about the creative part and owning his unique technique of freestyle we need to look at Paul Kerbel’s play of 2014 EYYC and Worlds who did much more than only horizontal jumps and cap-plays but he could form the whole performance on them , but even this would be too boring in the opening of whole potential of the player as for me. Saying about this video it is similar with the: 1)oh I can do hop above my head, 2)right hop, left hop 3)hop behind my back, 4)beginner-based hops with my neck? I will revenge to Perfect Elements for not taking my tricks in their list (lol guy lucky for not suicide yourself with string in this decision comparing with your “pro”-level, 5)maybe hop between my legs? Oh that’s too difficult for me, let’s just run away with my hops from the scene! Sorry-sorry I need to stay here for 3 minutes and piss later
    That’s not the only crashing of EYYC level of 2022, look at the winner of opening competition in 1a, style is rather good, but so many mistakes, but suddenly he won the opening! Petr Kavka got the bad place in one year(something like 2018 I don’t remember right) with his REALLY perfect style and less mistakes (the performance when he felt of on the scene), Janos and Augie from the past could be the winners getting drunk with their eyes closed in competing with the 1a winners of this year, that’s not a way too professional at all ✌🏼🫠

    He showed absolutely nothing in comparing with 2011-2014 years, this is really the top of Europe play??? Nothing creative, no interesting combos, just catching in intermediate Eli-Hops modernisation and that’s all! Yo-yoing will die with such level of international champions, so fuckin bad!

    • @JYee
      @JYee 2 года назад +19

      I'll say as someone who's been in the competition yoyo scene for about 20 years now whos seen everything through the years, this is far from intermediate Eli hops. The tricks that he lands here are extremely difficult and incredibly high risk to land in a freestyle setting. Jakubs approach to tricks is incredibly refreshing as he takes the idea of the current meta of tricks and creates a higher amplitude variant with very original and ideas. I think he is very much deserving of the title just as winners of EYYC past have done as well.

      i respect your opinion, but i want you to hear mine as well sir. His freestyle kinda reminds me of Naoto Onishi's 2015 winning 4a freestyle, yet some people complained about his style(a lot of repeating elements and yoyo doesn't leave the string). However I think Jakub and Naoto just suggested another style of yoyoing, and they are actually fairly, or even highly risky to execute unlike how simple the trick looks. It's true that some freestyles bring bunch of unfamiliar moves that makes their whole act more interesting. But that's not only matters for a Good freestyles. GOOD freestyle is really subjective matter and definitely it's not Good in your perspective. But for me, Jakub showed bunches of various ways of use of hop elements and applications on the freestyles. This freestyle would remembered differently to everyone, but i think trick them selves might not really new, but the way he put them together was pretty unique and memorable.
