a hundred books on the tbr shelf and somehow ends up reading that one book thats on a random stack tucked inside the closet. this video is a summary of my reading life
When you got annoyed with your clothes in your closet was my favorite part 😂😂 I was so happy you figured out you were supposed to be looking for a five star read when looking at your tbr shelf 👌
This was a fun journey. Plus I love that you were like ‘it’s this or I lie to you… what do you think I’m going to do?’ Followed by you doing the thing ☺️ genuinely made me feel loved lol 😝
I busted out laughing when you kept finding flowers in your so. Your genuine confusion was hilarious! And i also loved that it felt like we were with you the entire time. Except when you kept leaving us bwhind from room to room lol! This video was gold
It's funny, I immediately thought of your copy of All's Well by Mona Awad for prompt 8. I know it's arrows and not darts but it has the same....punctured vibe haha.
I did my very first scavenger hunt and it was time consuming! I don’t have bookcases and closets of books, 😆, but I made my stack and ended up with my next book to read! Thanks for the inspiration. 🌱🌿🍂🌼
Just did this and am pretty damn proud of myself for a couple of connections I made, plus I ended up finding a word that's in the title of one of the books on my TBR cart I've been most eager to get to. Huzzah!
This is so fun - it’s actually the way I initially found your channel (!!!) and I do it with you every time! This time my final word ended up being “and” which I thought was kind of boring and I wasn’t excited about my options so I went to pick a new one… and got “and” again 😂 so I took it as a sign, reassessed my options, and am very excited to pick up Luisa Now and Then! 😁
Okay it was super fun to do this along with you! 1. The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See (fave of this year so far) 2. The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman (Anne was the name) 3. Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim (crimson color) 4. Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler (word was "sow") 5. Copenhagen by Michael Fray (same color scheme) 6. James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl (almost same number of pages, i didn't have an exact match) 7. Tales of the South Pacific by James A Michener (James was the name) 8. Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q Sutanto (22 letters) 9. Dial A For Aunties by Jesse Q Sutanto (yep, series hahaha) 10. All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (word was "we") So fun!!
Followed along with you and the prompts and ended up with “My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry” by Fredrik Backman! This was a lot of fun ❤️
I found The Mars Room difficult to read but it’s a book that has stayed with me and that I still think about. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
based on your reaction i thought the room book was gonna be a copy of a room of one’s own that you mainly bought because it was a special edition 😭 excited to see what you think of the book! i’ve had my eye on that one for a while but it’s not my usual thing so i’ve been a bit hesitant to pick it up!
I loved this video last time and decided to play along at home. I went from The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, to Vox Machina Origins Volume II by Matthew Mercer, to The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, to Dreams Lie Beneath by Rebecca Ross, to The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan, to A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas, to City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab, to The Bone Maker by Sarah Beth Durst, to Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, to The Second Bell by Gabriela Houston! I'm putting that on the top of my TBR after I finish my current book which is New Spring by Robert Jordan:) I hope we both love our picks! Thank you for the fun watch!
What perfect timing! I just finished my super boring bookclub book and I'm not quite in the mood to continue the duology I 've been reading, so let me pick an inbetween read! 1. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor(Decided to start my last 5 star read as well) 2. Time Cat by Loyd Alexander (the only name in the aknowledgements close to what I have on my shelf is Alexandra, so Alex sure) 3. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys (time cat has a super fun 90s illustration cover, and you can see the sea!) 4. Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray (air in the the 5th line, so l"air") 5. Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets by Evan Roskos (a lot of these books are teal) 6. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan (both books are 310 pages!) 7. The Transall Saga by Gary Paulson (took a while but there's a Gary in Will Grayson lol) 8. The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa (15 letters) 9. I got the word "no". I have no books with the word "no, so I have 4 options a. "NO"S4A2 by Joe Hill b. "No"cturnal by Scott Sigler c. More Happy Than "No"t by Adam Silvera d. This is "No"t a Test by Courtney Summers. Which should I choose? I have been wanting something horror/thriller, stand alone, and shorter, so maybe Nocturnal? If anyone has read this far what are your opinions haha Thanks!
I’ve wanted to do this scavenger hunt since I first saw you do it… four years ago? But I don’t own a ton of unread books and I’m too scared to do it at the library and end up with something I have literally zero interest in. So I’ll just live vicariously through you!
I was in a reading slump, and all the books I have did not ispire me, for some reason. So, I let Amazon decide for me. I go on the outlet section, I set a max price of 5 euro, I tell Amazon to only show me hardback copies (for some reason, if I have a block a hardback copy usually helps), and choose among the things that come up, with the book having to be under 350 pages. I have to say I found mostly 3 stars, but I got back to reading, at the moment, and I got a couple of really good books (5 stars).
Decided to play along and these are the books I chose (all from my physical TBR except the last one): 1. The Fault in Our Stars (re-read) 2. An Anonymous Girl (re-read) 3. Alex Approximately (re-read) 4. The Girl on The Train 5. 10 Things I Can See from Here 6. Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking 7. To Kill a Mockingbird (technically A re-read but I last read it ~8 years ago so I remember nothing) 8. The Train to Crystal City 9. Paper Towns (re-read) 10. She Drives Me Crazy
I love it when you do this video. Also I feel like The One was on your last scavenger hunt but like you said it was 2 years ago so I very well could be wrong.. 😂
I played along, but I played much more slowly. I need to organize better… but I ended up with Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century and am about to start it! Fingers crossed!
Am I already in the middle of too many book? yes. Did I still do this? Also yes. 1. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (all-time favorite book) 2. The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver (name was Josephine) 3. A Woman is No Man by Etaf Rum (there is both a man & woman on the cover of Lydia Bird) 4. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins (Hall in 5th line) 5. Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson (5-star same color scheme) 6. The Lost Girl of Astor Street by Stephanie Morrill (349 pages exactly!) 7. Tweet Cute by Emma Lord (name was Emma) 8. Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend (9 letters in title) 9. My Most Excellent Year by Steve Kluger (3 kids and umbrellas on the cover) 10. My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray (dear was the word) Off to the library I go to find the ebook!
unrelated but could you do an anthologies video? i feel like you are the queen of anthologies and i want to get into them but i don't know where to start
I went from This Is How It Always Is > Darling Girl > The Goldfinch > The Giver quartet, and then I got stuck bc there are few characters with names in that series, and even fewer who share names of authors I have on my TBR. The closest I could find was Vladimir by Julia May ~Jonas~, but I'm currently on hold for that at my library, so couldn't progress any further.
This is such a fun concept! I'm not sure if you recently got new clothes but your spring floral top/dresses have been so cute! I love this green floral you are wearing and you had a yellow top on at the end of your last video that you looked amazing in as well! Where are they from?
I loved when you just kept finding flowers in the book, it felt very magical lol
I'm just wondering how they didn't fall out while I was filming the TBR series 😳
Watching your video while on live with you is the kind of inception I’ve been waiting for
I love how you talk to us as if we're with you in this video, it makes it super fun and casual!
a hundred books on the tbr shelf and somehow ends up reading that one book thats on a random stack tucked inside the closet. this video is a summary of my reading life

Oooooh that's a *good* one !!
I did my very first scavenger hunt and it was time consuming! I don’t have bookcases and closets of books, 😆, but I made my stack and ended up with my next book to read! Thanks for the inspiration. 🌱🌿🍂🌼
take a shot every time Kayla says "where's my phone?" 🤣
Depressed today, but what an awesome way to end my night
Just did this and am pretty damn proud of myself for a couple of connections I made, plus I ended up finding a word that's in the title of one of the books on my TBR cart I've been most eager to get to. Huzzah!
The side tangent with the spider is making me laugh, haha. This was fun!
Definitely going to be trying this concept the next time I’m in a slump! 🥰
Seeing your personality and spirit in this video was so cheering and made me feel like I was right there! Thanks for sharing!
This is so fun - it’s actually the way I initially found your channel (!!!) and I do it with you every time! Watching this while the live sprint is going on ❤️
Same
I literally gasped out loud when you got to the mars room bc I really liked that book when I read it omggg
oh to have bookshelves stocked enough to play along with you. thanks for letting me live vicariously through u xxx
The flowers were a lovely surprise 💐
Okay it was super fun to do this along with you!
1. The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See (fave of this year so far)

So fun!!
I love that you keep putting out unique content!
Followed along with you and the prompts and ended up with “My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry” by Fredrik Backman! This was a lot of fun ❤️
I lost count how many times the words "Where's my phone?" was said LOL! Sounds like me looking through my shelves...
I don't know why but I *constantly* leave it on a bookshelf for some reason. And then can't find the right bookshelf 🤯
I LOVE how creative you are with books!!!! So inspiring!!!!
Your hair looks amazing~! Watching you rescue that spider from your cieling was scary!
Fun and unique as always, Kayla! And I love that you took the spider out. I do that too! 😊
Kayla talking to us is so cute i feel so loved
I found The Mars Room difficult to read but it’s a book that has stayed with me and that I still think about. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
I love how many times you talk to us like we’re physically there with you in this video. 🤣 “can you help me reach it?” Lolol
Omggg can we please have that be the theme song for the tbr closet from now on??? 🤣🤣🤣 like EVERY TIME from now on lol
Yelling at you to pick up House of Leaves for the 5⭐️ with black, white, green and yellow on the cover! 😂
Thanks for the fun video Lala!
Came for the book journey, stayed for your breaking the fourth wall moments. 👌🏻
My cat's name is Minerva, and every time you said her name she was like "It's me, I'm the winner" 🤣🤣
My favorite parts of this video were every time you asked “do you wanna come with me?” and casually dragged us along. 🥹
I’m soooo jealous of your copy of Dowry of Blood. They’re not selling it with that cover anymore and I LOVE that cover!! 😭😭💔
This was so fun ! Going through the books on your shelf in such a fun way 🤗
The best Scavenger Hunt I ever watched! 😃
Thank you for saving the spider! That’s exactly the method I use.
Same! 🖤
based on your reaction i thought the room book was gonna be a copy of a room of one’s own that you mainly bought because it was a special edition 😭
excited to see what you think of the book! i’ve had my eye on that one for a while but it’s not my usual thing so i’ve been a bit hesitant to pick it up!
that's what I thought as soon as she had her "...oh" reaction! 😂
This was so fun! Ima have to do it to pick my next read
This was so funny 😂 and this scavenger hunt seems like so much fun! Might just have to do it to choose my next read :)
This is actually so fun , trying to find the next book to read is always sooo overwhelming so this is sooo fun
thank you for blessing us with a video to curve our sunday scaries
“The spider was summoning me” 😂😂😂
I love the Nan Goldin photograph on the cover! Studied her photography in school
I think this is such a fun way to find your next read.. sometimes the right book just falls into your lap at the right time :)
This video was so fun to watch!!! And I love this scavenger hunt idea!!!! Def gonna try it !!
this is so much fun, maybe I am gonna try that as well
with a very limited physical tbr... we'll see how that works out
I loved this video last time and decided to play along at home. I went from The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, to Vox Machina Origins Volume II by Matthew Mercer, to The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, to Dreams Lie Beneath by Rebecca Ross, to The Great Hunt by Robert Jordan, to A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. i really liked The Mars Room! its dark and strange. for that reason, i feel like you might like it haha.
I love this idea! I’m very interested in doing this once I get all of my library books caught up
It’s a good book, I had to read it because of the book tube spin. I was completely non excited about it, and I ended up liking it so much.
You made me laugh 😂 finding all the flowers between the pages of your 📖 book.
What perfect timing! I just finished my super boring bookclub book and I'm not quite in the mood to continue the duology I 've been reading, so let me pick an inbetween read!
1. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor(Decided to start my last 5 star read as well)

9. I got the word "no". I have no books with the word "no, so I have 4 options
a. "NO"S4A2 by Joe Hill
b. "No"cturnal by Scott Sigler
c. More Happy Than "No"t by Adam Silvera
d. This is "No"t a Test by Courtney Summers.
Which should I choose? I have been wanting something horror/thriller, stand alone, and shorter, so maybe Nocturnal? If anyone has read this far what are your opinions haha Thanks!
Jumping in while the sprints is happening
🤗🤗🤗
My scavenger hunt picked The Hacienda by Isabel Canas which I was planning to read next but was on the fence about. Thanks for the fun time!
The moment when you realized it was supposed to be a 5-star read. I knew it was coming but gave me such a good laugh.
I'm going to do the scavenger hunt looks fun. Thank you.
I followed along with the prompts and got Wicked like a Wildfire 😊 that was fun!
This was fun, I’m going to go do it now too!!
needed to pick a new book this morning so this was perfect timing! I ended up with the weight of feathers.
I love when you do these types of videos!
I loved this book! It's one of my favourites of all time. Hope you enjoy it.
The closet that brought me to your channel many years ago made an appearance!
okay i LOVE that dress!!
Been dying to check out The Flamethrowers by Rachel Kushner, so very excited to see what you think of this one by her!
I am actually dying at the flowers and leaves 😂🤣
I’ve wanted to do this scavenger hunt since I first saw you do it… four years ago? But I don’t own a ton of unread books and I’m too scared to do it at the library and end up with something I have literally zero interest in. So I’ll just live vicariously through you!
I really want to do this now. This seems like a fun way to pick a book when I have no idea what I want to read.
Enjoyed The Mars Room! The payoff is good!
I loved this video! Just finished a book and no idea what to read so did it too 😁
I was in a reading slump, and all the books I have did not ispire me, for some reason. So, I let Amazon decide for me. I have to say I found mostly 3 stars, but I got back to reading, at the moment, and I got a couple of really good books (5 stars).
I gave The Mars Room 1 star...rare for me. Cannot wait to know what you think.
Decided to play along and these are the books I chose (all from my physical TBR except the last one):
1. The Fault in Our Stars (re-read)
2. An Anonymous Girl (re-read)
3. Alex Approximately (re-read)
4. The Girl on The Train
5. 10 Things I Can See from Here

7. To Kill a Mockingbird (technically A re-read but I last read it ~8 years ago so I remember nothing)
8. The Train to Crystal City
9. Paper Towns (re-read)
10. She Drives Me Crazy
I'm happy to see IWWV was not harmed during the spider transport.
This video was so much fun!!
This is such fun! I'm gonna do it as well to find my next read.
Wonderful challenge. Im happy to experience this 😍😄
Always love watching you do these. I am curious on what you think about the book.
I love this, and I did this at the same time as you did and I don't wanna read the book that got chosen in the end 🤣
This is such a fun way to pick a book! Really trying to read down my owned TBR, so I might be trying this soon
I'm obsessed! I wanna do this now
Am I crazy?? I can't find the April 2020 scavenger hunt video at all... Regardless, love this as a spring semi-tradition!
You know, you might be my book nemesis but I do love Peter, so maybe we don’t have to do mortal combat, after all. Yay!
I mean, I’ve been training for it but never mind, I guess
Great video
This is such a fun video!
Watching this vlog was so entertaining
I did the hunt along with your and the Mars Room was in my hunt, not sure that means anything but interesting.
I love it when you do this video. Also I feel like The One was on your last scavenger hunt but like you said it was 2 years ago so I very well could be wrong.. 😂
I have a book recommendation for you. A really pretty book lol. Mammoth by Brian McBride. It would look stunning in your shelf 😂😂
I played along, but I played much more slowly. I need to organize better… but I ended up with Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century and am about to start it! Fingers crossed!
Ohh I have been curious about the book you ended up with!
Am I already in the middle of too many book? yes. Did I still do this? Also yes.
1. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (all-time favorite book)
2. The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver (name was Josephine)

10. My Dear Hamilton by Stephanie Dray (dear was the word)
Off to the library I go to find the ebook!
unrelated but could you do an anthologies video? i feel like you are the queen of anthologies and i want to get into them but i don't know where to start
I started with The Galaxy and The Ground Within (favorite book) and ended up with One For All by Lillie Lainoff! This was fun!
Lillie’s book is so good, but I’m also very biased! I hope you enjoy it!

I mean… I remember your first scavenger hunt video… HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN HERE? IT’S BEEN AT LEAST 5 YEARS KAYLA… WHAT
And how beautiful was finding the pressed flowers inside the book 🥺 it happened to me once, I was very emotional hahag
hahaha the way you spelled out 'The One' killed me!
