@@catjazzhappycat7273 Best way to put it, I think. There’s a lot of Tarn energy in the overall aesthetic, with a lot of Animated Lockdown’s proportions and personal effects.
Wow. That Transformation is NOT what I was expecting. Though I didn’t know how it was gonna work to begin with but holy crap! My only nitpick is he seems a little long in truck mode but whatever. He looks so cool and I can’t wait to get him!
I REALLY wish the head sculpt was done a little bit more accurately but it doesn’t look bad at all (hopefully a third party company puts out an upgrade kit)
I think I actually prefer it to the final movie design, the long neck with the helmet skirt makes him really look like Durge from Star Wars, who is one of the coolest looking characters ever created lol
9 months and multiple upgrade kits later, I still like the stock head / neck best. Im done being overly concerned with movie accuracy for characters that appear on screen for less than 10 minutes each lol
HIS WHEELS FWOOP OUT? I’ve been annoyed for days because they wouldn’t all touch the ground. That’s such a small thing but I’m glad the designers found a solution, even if I didn’t.
great review! one thing to note, im fairly certain you actually can see the transparent molded faction symbols in his chest by removing the grill in his bot mode
One thing i noticed in Scourges claw is that the claw is very irregular like every finger is not touching each other perfectly kinda makes it look like a rusty junk transformer stealing stuff as weapons and armor which i like just like Animated Lockdown
Freezer looks better on his arm upside down using the blade as a support going between freezers legs, also in truck mode you can leave the cannon on freezers back tucked the way it is in robot mode facing forward with the truck making it a mobile artillery cannon.
Can't Wait to get this Figure My Birthday Next Month and Amazing Review be watching your Channel for YEARS since like the Revenge of the Fallen leader Optimus Review
This studio series design is surprisingly practical, I assumed he'd be a shell former with that minor backpack he has: but surprisingly everything on him serves a purpose for the alt mode. I especially love the fact his chest grill IS the actual grill on the truck, and not an aesthetic grill like other transformers. Very smart Hasbro, and I'm excited for a third part version to improve on this.
3:09 I just noticed this recently and thought it was broken but why dose one side have of the back have a L shaped panel but the the other is just a rectangular shaped panel were the smoke stack ports are
This figure would look INSANELY better, a million times better in my opinion, if at 3:52, if they found a way to engineer the backpack so that the smokestack could separate from that panel on his side so that that panel could fold in to the side of the torso and disappear from behind his arm. That would make the toy INFINITELY better looking. Don't HATE it, I just don't necessarily love it. Either way, this Scourge design is FANTASTIC and HE was FANTASTIC in the movie, so I dig it indeed.
Scourge looks cool but I was hoping he would look like movie-fied G1 scourge with that mad max truck around his body making g1 scourge look more threatening and scary. But I do like what we got here I can't wait to see him in action. Also nice review Emgo!
@@pillarsofsnow7940 Me too. RID 2001 is my all time favorite Transformers series, and I love how they carried that over to this new movie. And I also love how they are keeping Scourge a Herald of Unicron, a callback to the G1 movie (1986)
@@TheRisingStorm316 best detail is that on the studio series figure, while the grill forms the chest the sides of the truck’s nose do in fact split and form his shoulder pads
I sometimes like to have it holding the cannon in his claw hand, even though my copy can’t hold it too well like that. Other times I just have him wielding Freezer in his normal hand and holding Bee in the claw hand
I kinda wish he looked more like this in the film. His silhouette is a bit generic compared to this design where there's a lot of noticeable things. His smokestacks, his neck, his shoulders, his sword arm
This is honestly one of the most solid and well put together SS figures in a while! Really, the whole of the ROTB line, very good so far, really enjoy em. The only 2 things are, first like yours, the neck/head likes to pop off pretty easily, second, my smokestacks are super loose and flop around for whatever reason, if anyone knows a way to fix that kind of issue, would be much appreciated. It's the specific type of connection, happens on many figures but have never had it this bad.
I know this toy isn't 100% accurate to how he looks in the film, but i still dig the design, especially how his neck looks like he's wearing chainmail armor

The fact that Freezer is compatible with most ROTB figures makes me wonder if he is going to be the Terrorcon's minicon, a bit like Frenzy in the 07 movie.
Literally the first Transformer I've preordered from anywhere. Studio series I feel has really upped the quality with Scourge in how detailed, well engineered and articulated he is. My first impression after the reveal was always aesthetically he felt more like a Dark Souls boss than any known Transformers villain. Really hope the film does the character/design justice, and makes him a serious threat to the Autobots/earth. And Prime better not rip off his face as funny as that would be to see again.
Other thing I wish is that they could find a way to straighten out the cage for truck mode because that’s the only thing that’s not accurate (besides the smokestacks being too long but who cares about that)
The only question I have about this character is, why would he chose a earth alt mode? I mean, he works for a giant robotic planet. I think it's safe to say the whole "Robots in disguise" thing has been thrown out the window by this point. And if Unicron is going to eat Earth anyway, why does Scourge care about blending in?
*It’s obvious.* Scourge has to get the jump on unsuspecting humans, Autobots and Maximals, doesn’t he? From what the trailers have shown us, the Terrorcons are most likely waiting for Unicron to come, so scanning Earth modes and fighting Autobots and Maximals would be a way to kill time before Unicron arrives.
@@TheRisingStorm316 uh oh, Buzzkill has joined the party. I know why he has an Earth alt mode for story purposes. No one is ever going suspect him. And I'm sure they'll ignore the Many Autobot and Maximal insignia decorating his front grill.
Looks like a great figure but I'm unsure of how I would feel paying Leader Class price for it. First they downsize the Leaders and say that it's based off of accessories, and over the last year or two Leaders have gradually come with less accessories and maintained the smaller size.
