Zero Hour was originally pretty hard when it was released - match game had a lot to do with it, but it was definitely more challenging than Whisper.
Since when was it hard???
The brig ruins the mission wish the boss didn't change
Nah it was easy
@@dzd__2216it was some of the hardest content destiny 2 had at the time. the boss single handedly brought whisper back into the meta, to the point where they nerfed it
@@Kizzster why? Save super for the brig, a needlestorm takes ~30% of its health, and then pepper it with dragon's breath while you deal with the adds around the arena, since the missile strikes keep you on the move.
Get a damaging special for extra damage, and use your primary to deal with the adds and generate more ammo. By the time you reach the brig phase, you should already have the arena littered with ammo bricks from the adds.
“Its too hard!” Dog, it’s on a 40 minute timer
Yeah legend timer is the only thing that’s really hard

Back when the original Zero Hour came out I only had 1 friend that played Destiny 2. We bashed our heads against a wall trying to beat the mission just the two of us, but we weren’t good enough yet. We had the platforming down to a science but couldn’t clear the last room in time. We finally found a third friend that played and one of the first things we ever did together in game was beat the mission
I would think the outcry would've been lessened had Bungie said that the power level was gonna be different than Whisper.
in 2019 was the same thing, no biggie diference
They should fix the power level to show it's 1830 instead of 1810
Exactly if the only difference is the route and the time limit. Then it should say 1830 for both.
this. i dont care if its harder, but please display the enemy level next to their name or something. 1830 enemys in 1810 activity, neomuna mobs being super tanky. this is so inconsistent.
The power level is meant to show the max power you need for the activity
Can agree with this.
@@Ratched64 you have a problem with it being hard lol be quiet .. i notice it was harder and didnt care ..man up
The jumping puzzles were literally harder than the combat encounters
That's a skill Issue
Strand grapple, mountaintop, eager edge, icarus dash, lion rampants, st0mp 3z
There are lots of options to help your movement once you get to the traversal section

I accidentally soloed Whisper when I went in to practice the route before looking for a team. I didn't plan on beating it when I went in.
So since when did destiny players forget that normally: the harder the challenge, the better the loot? I mean whisper has its place for certain raid bosses or missions, but Outbreak on the other hand you can literally use anywhere. Insane dps for a primary, insanely good against ads (and thats without talking about the insane upgrades that its now getting) and just always a great choice for builds without an exotic weapon yet.

@JstWiser From experience I can honestly say...very carefully😂😂
I think the difference we have to think about is Whisper and Zero came out at different times in D2, getting them back to back now we see the big gap. As a casual player, I went into Zero Hour solo and cleared it, not so bad. I appreciate when things are challenging. When i saw the brig come out and not the normal captain i laughed and said "Bungie you sons of beaches"

@@apollorushhh5421 see you get it, Whisper dropped July 2018, and Zero hour after Forsaken so we were different Guardians then and beefier
A buddy and me randomly jumped in there, no real prep was able to finish it first try with 3 seconds left 😅
Only thing I was confused about is why did Bungie make sure to let us know that if we already had the catalyst we wouldn't need to earn it again....but you need to do Legend anyway to get the crafting perks.
You don’t need to do legend to get to the catalyst, head to mars and you reshape outbreak to add the catalyst same for whisper
Ya, it’s kinda confusing….same with Whisper. I had the catalyst for both and thought you just needed normal mode and quest to unlock all Percs but had to run legend….
Just like whisper I will do all the things and legend on the last week and get all the percs unlocked…I guess😅
Just like with Revision Zero, Dead Messenger, and Dead Man's Tale, the extra intrinsic levels only add to how many columns of perks you're able to customize, while the Catalysts were a separate column altogether. It's not a bad system persay, it's just a little odd in this case since Whisper and Outbreak are weapons that have already been out with catalysts before they were made craftable.
What I don't like is that the mission tags it as 1810, then you're met with enemies at 1830.
Just be consistent about it. If it's 1830, then change the tag to 1830.

@@daxsedgwick7562 no it's an unnecessarily short timer if they're going to make the base mode legendary. If they want to make it actually more challenging taking a cop out like reducing the amount of time you're allowed to use is again just a cop out, I do think the whole changing of the route is definitely a good start but they could have definitely done other things to make it more difficult without just taking a cheap answer like lowering the amount of time you have to do it before you get kicked out or just making everything a bullet sponge. Because being able to do it faster does not mean that you are a better player it just means that you can kill stuff a little faster, whereas if you had actual challenges that required actual brain power then that person who killed a bit slower might be the better player but will never know because they don't do that kind of thing. I feel that the only thing they need to do is fix the airstrikes lingering damage. Even the game doesnt process what you died to. I understand that this happens because of latency. You can literally stand next to another person and one can receive the damage. the other doesnt.

I enjoyed the challenge, me and my homie two-manned it and we both enjoyed tuning our loadouts for it, finished with 4 seconds left on the 20 min run.
Remember Whisper mission was introduced to us when we still had 2 primaries and the now special weapons were in the power slot!!(If I remember correctly)
Whisper came out in warmind which was around the change back to being able to run double special
And zero hour came out during season of the drifter
@@lightningjuniorsuper The special weapon change happened in Forsaken, Whisper came out at about the half-way mark of Warmind. The only cheese strat we had back then was sitting in the back of the room with Polaris.
This is true. Since then we've gotten the 3.0 subclasses, strand and stasis, tons of new weapons and exotic armors. This is a tough mission, but if you come at with a plan in place, you can clear it easy. Gotta communicate with your team and synergize your builds.
I don't know if there is another mission that equals the skill needed to finish whisper when it first came out. All three people had to hit almost every crit with their sniper while moving to finish in the time limit. I have the original ship and Whisper and was booted from many fireteams when I joined before we even loaded in while trying to run the new one. Those people have no idea. I ended up doing it solo. lol
@@xxJudgmentalxx would you say legend whisper was more difficult than the current legend zero hour? It's hard to really compare because our kits have changed so drastically. We have more movement abilities and we have entire subclasses that we didn't have then. We have special weapons and new supers like well of radiance and thunder crash and blade barrage and all the strand and stasis stuff. We have exotic weapons like g-horn and anarchy now. Dragons breath? I mean, we have so much more power compared to when whisper first launched. I'd say that has made the current whisper mission feel really easy in comparison, especially on normal mode with the 40 minute timer, but I think it's a good introduction to the concept of the time limited exotic mission for newer players. Zero hour is a challenge by comparison, and I think that makes it fun. It's hard, but it is doable if you approach it with a battle plan and a knowledge of the path you need to take. If someone can do it legend solo flawless with blink equipped, then the average player can do it in a team of three without limitations. If it's challenging, that's good! That makes it feel more rewarding when you finally get it.
Nice to see Bungie standing on business. I mean we literally have the time limit doubled and are way more powerful than we were before.
Straight BIDNESS
Well, let’s also ignore the fact that they’ve been making the game easier over the years forever feels like so definitely nice to see some actual hard Contant, especially with pantheon
@jackmcdonnell2269 they haven't made it easier. They have just given us increasingly more powerful stuff.
Bungies issues with difficulty is that when they try to artificially generate it, they just make things annoying, not hard.
Zero hour is actually a pretty good change, though
The problem many are having is beating LEGEND on 20 minutes. Stevie Wonder could do normal in 40 minutes.
Yea legend is the actual one thats hard.
The more and more I play this game and comments I see about difficulty make me feel above average in PVE. Love the transparency.
Legend ZH made me pull out Riskrunner from collections and i will stick by to using it on future runs.
A shank has more health than a whisper boss.😂
I like the frantic pace of the 20-minute timer. Its part of the story where the fallen are loading their stolen equipment, and you have to catch them before they escape.
My friend and i decided we would do the same thing we did for whisper for outbreak. We would get the gun and the intrinsics. Get all the trait to the "do legend difficulty zero hour" then get them all done at one time in one run of legend difficulty zero hour.
Same thing here, work smarter not harder. Would you rather go through hell three times or just once? 😉
@@FaceJah 100%
You need to do both the first two weeks now on Legend mode thanks to this glitch that does work. Once you kill the last enemy with One Second remaining wait in that room until the timer disappears then you will have unlimited time to complete it in. There's a good chance it will be patched this week so do it ASAP. Another thing you can do is have three different people load in separately and kill all the enemies leaving the last one alive like in the video. If one person doesn't get it to work then hopefully another will then join that person with the unlimited time glitch. I was worried my other two friends wouldn't get it completed at the end when opening the chest since they joined me later, but thankfully we all did.

I'm glad it was challenging. I had a fun time yesterday working through it with my friends and working through the different portions while learning. It's one of the best primaries in the game, it's good that it feels like a triumph to beat.
I think it comes down to there being much more to do in Zero Hour compared to Whisper. Whisper is a few brief platforming sections, one of which (the Green Room) can be completely bypassed by a shortcut, then it has a few combat sections before the boss fight. Zero Hour has 3 combat section immediately at the start, the third of which being very enemy dense with the shanks, servitors, marauders, vandals sniping from a far, and the Fallen Walker. Then even after that you're still fighting through more Fallen as you progress through the Tower. Then after that, the platforming sections are a bit more challenging than Whisper, there's more of them, and they're not skippable lile Whisper. Then there's of course TR3VR to get through, more platforming after that, then the boss fight. Zero Hour is just more dense and more combat intensive than Whisper.
TR3VR is also a major bottleneck in terms of speed because each time you pull one of the levers, the electric wall locks you into that corner for a few seconds. And the only way to really go faster is eager edge boosting. It just slows you down so much.
@@snottytoe6957mactics didn't do any of that ...

Too many casuals whining about zero hour because the whisper mission was way too easy. I soloed it my first time and was surprised at how easy it was.
just a question are we scaled down in the mission or no?
I had a blast I enjoyed the difficulty normal and legend. But understanding both sides.
I think the difficulty is largely from the final arena being so much more punishing than Whisper
It basically is a kill box with high damage turrets, a shit ton of servitors and shanks that all surround you so cover is hard to find and maintain, and when you FINALLY deal with all of those and the walkers that show up and are out of ammo
Then a massive Brig that you can't crit shows up lmao
It really does stretch you to your limits/become a battle of attrition as an encounter.
There are still options. Polaris is a very good choice. Constant damage and if you make use of your artifact mods you can put it huge numbers. You have Deconstruct as well, this is a top pick for dealing damage to the Brig and Walkers. Dragons Breath will literally one shot the walkers.
I use an Edge Transit with Envious + Bait Switch.
You stack a Solar burn on the Brig to make it weak and lay in on that GL you can take the Brig down to almost 25% health.
If you're worried about anything else, use the Mountain Top. This is a very good GL as well. It can one shot the shanks on direct impacts.
@@SeizeHerSalad I was wondering how people were 1-shotting the tanks as I was running some legends. Good info
I beat it on legend with literally 2 seconds left😅 after you kill the final boss you still have to clear out the rest of the ads before it finishes.
@@SeizeHerSalad All of the options you listed (except for Dragon's Breath) are getting nerfed in 3 weeks.
But the Zero Hour mission's difficulty won't go down.
This is the problem with developing challenging content that can only be solved by a current sandbox: If that sandbox gets gutted and no equally-powerful alternatives exist, player power is going down, but the activities aren't adjusting to match.
If you don't get all of the perks from Zero Hour NOW, you are FUCKED later. And there are a LOT of people returning to the game that can't reliably clear Zero Hour Legend in time.
This is proof of shoddy design with poor developer foresight. It's the same reason every Raid encounter is about to get way worse when Well gets nerfed.
That's not to say the nerfs aren't deserved or important. They are. The issue is that players have power taken away from them, but enemies don't get easier to compensate. This in turn increases player reliance on cheese strategies and glitches and game-breaking bugs to get the edge that Bungie refuses to let players have.
@JeanneDGames These weapons are used primarily because of Artifacts. I have other options I can use too. I also don't remember deconstruct getting nerfed. This is an amazing benefit to fit the Brig and Walkers. You have to use the tools given to you to clear the way. It is possible, I assure you.
Yeah, some things make the game easier but it's always learning to adapt and using those skills to overcome those obstacles.
Regular wasn't hard but I am not a fan of the time limits. I like opportunities to explore the environments they make.
Me too. Often times it makes me want to speed run things

Original zero hour had a secret emblem for clearing it with 5 mins left on master difficulty, the speed run aspect has always been part of it

i'm just not a fan of having to do "legend or legendary" versions of stuff just to unlock a perk, like i have all other versions of outbreak across both games but i can't get this one with one fuckass perk? that's just dogshit
I’m gonna put it like this , run risk runner or wardcliff coil with a pretty decent loadout , you’ll be AMAZED
To be honest, I have a feeling a lot people get stuck on the traversal and jumping puzzles, which is like 70% of the mission. In all of my runs whether it was normal or legend, the traversal is what people had trouble with the most. On my first normal run when I LFG'd, it was me, a warlock, and a hunter. Me and the warlock were completely fine, but our hunter STRUGGLED during the jumping to the point where me and the warlock killed the boss and all enemies before our hunter even got to the boss room.
On legend it was the same situation but instead I did it with a friend and his wife. We failed our first legend run due to the traversal as we were getting used to alternate route you had to take. On our second legend run, the same thing happened like my first normal run where me and my friend killed the final boss and all the enemies while my friends wife never got to the boss room as she was still getting used to the jumping.
That hunter must just be too stubborn to change their build at all. Strand and stompees makes the jumping part easy
I wouldn't complain if they just showed what it was. If it's 1830 across the board, say it's 1830 on normal too. Shanks have shields, put that in the mission moodiers. Etc etc, Bungie just needs to update the description to match and I think a lot of complaints would disappear cause at least they'll be accurate when saying it'll be difficult regardless
Who cares 🤷♂️
I didn’t even notice the enemy levels..
just play the game 🤨 if it’s hard.. play harder, focus up, and git good
Hint: Spam indebted kindness sidearm in the first few areas and heavy on the brig & walker. Have your fireteam split up to do Trevor. Only hit the switch to lift lid #3. If you’re on warlock, use weavewalk to get past the sniper area and the end captain. For the boss room ALWAYS prioritize the vandals -> servitors -> shanks -> dregs -> boss -> turrets. Use dragon’s breath on the boss. Stay in the back of the area during the brig phase. Golden gun helps massively once the brig’s face is blown off.
Trying to do the mission in legend with a friend we had a random from a LFG to complete the team of 3, me and friend reached the boss with 5 minutes left... random kept falling on the jumping part up to the last second...
My only complaint about Zero Hour is that the legend version chose to make the tile puzzle at the end require trial and error to solve without looking up the patterns online. It's just frustrating trying to do the mission blind and have a good run end right in front of the finish line because of bad guessing.
The combat and navigation in that mission are otherwise pretty great in my opinion.
The tile pattern is scribbled on the wall in the room just before the tile room. It changes daily. It's on the back wall of one of the smaller sections of the room.
@@PhatBoyFresh That's only in normal mode. In Legend the drawing is gone and the only way to find the solution is by either guessing or looking it up online.

They should clarify that there is a -15 or so power cap. This is it. This is the reason normal zero hour is harder than every other activity in the game with a listed "normal" difficulty.
In addition I find it crazy just how little people even understand the difficulty system of Destiny 2 these days. I blame bungie, and hope they follow through on the updated power system and making the power grind actually matter again.
The hardest part of Zero Hour to me, was the area with the 6 vents. I got through the maze w/o dying on my first run. However that one room had me stuck because I was an idiot, and had my team almost at the boss by the time I caught up.
The difficulty really comes down to the timer, 20 minutes, in most run, isn't enough and gives you little to no head room for mistakes. For a group of veterans, it really isn't that big of a problem. But for solo players, it really is frustrating to throw away your entire run each time you make mistake like die to the spinning fan and you spawn where you dropped off from the slide. Especially if you're already at the end of it. These mistakes happens in all activities in the game but most people just ignore it and continue moving on since it's part of the game, but in this case, since you entire run is on a timer, those small mistake turn into a dead run. That's almost 15 minutes of your time thrown away just because of the timer alone each run. The encounter isn't really hard nor the final boss with a right loadout, it just really takes time that you don't have. There's even one time where I still have 10 minutes left for the boss fight but died to puzzle room cause I didn't realize it reset daily, so I threw an entire run to figure out what is the correct pannels to step on. The activity isn't that hard in terms of difficulty, it's just that not everyone have that much time to invest in a 20 minutes activity just to get a slighty better gun compare to the one you already have.
The problem is not the enemy level. It’s the timer.
you have 40 minutes...

I briefly thought that Zero hour was surprisingly difficult on Tuesday reset….because I didn’t see the Arc threat modifier and thus was getting mauled by the lowliest dreg. I found it far easier on any other day.
My only issue with it is that it's an exotic for an exotic people already unlocked. If you're going to do it do it for a new exotic mission with a really good exotic as the reward, not one a lot of us already have and just need the craftable version of lol
Sadly, the issue I've seen most "casual" players struggling with in ZH isn't the combat. I had forgotten how bad a lot of players are at jumping puzzles, and no amount of light level is gonna get them through it faster. This could be 1600 content and some folks I've gotten in LFGs still wouldn't make it.
Also Whisper was designed back during Year1 with double-primary and pre-"Go Fast-update". You can't really bring it back into this sandbox without major changes to the fights/platforming without it being pretty easy. Heck just by starting you closer to the opening blight, and making you able to fight each boss one-at-a-time alone made it easier than the original.
People don’t mind difficulty, but about the inconsistency between „normal“ modes and „legend“ modes. There is no mention of contest mode in the mission mods.

Even the game didn't know what killed me as 10 of those deaths were to the Architect. I don't mind difficulty, but Brigs are just poorly designed, especially with no flag and little ammo dropping.
Normal is ez but legend is a pain and the biggest issue is that it’s mandatory for the quest
I love the urgency but the original felt better cuz it’s its own thing (not some mission for a perk) the lore was interesting too but the lore for the new version is that it’s a simulation
Idk ig my point is that it shouldn’t be required to do legendary just for freaken rapid hit
This is the problem I've got with it.
I enjoyed Zero hour the first iteration, there wasn't a single point playing this new iteration that I enjoyed. It was artificial difficulty all around that felt like shit. The Brig was shit to fight. Sniper galore just all around felt dumb to play against. But beat it on Legend anyways will never play that mission again
@@dntseehow is any of the difficulty artificial 💀
My only problem was the jumping section. I hate jumping puzzles. Haha!
Another way of looking at normal mode is that you get to work it out with the extra time against the same enemy levels to then do legend with time pressure on
Only problem for me is by the time you get to the 1 million phase boss you have 1 min
Its a good hard though. The deep exotic scout rifle is way way harder. I cant even get close solo.
The only difficulty in for the Deep scout is the boss' HP imo
Yeah season of the deep was fkn wilding when it came to boss health
Ghost of the deep boss has more health than oryx
I also never bothered with the scout because from what ik it’s mid af and I’m not wasting time catching fish
It does look cool but imo not worth the bother
If I recall, you only need one person in your party with all the fish... And that boss practically requires a div since tormentors have insane damage if you aren't getting your crits (and they move around too much to just land your hits with how much people scramble)
@@tryel298 yeah it's not that hard just a very short time limit. Nobody I know has divinity so we barely got the boss to a quarter with a 3 man. I solod it and barely got any damage plus it takes 40 minutes just to get to the hard part which is very annoying.
We just never took the time to go back and try with the right setup. Whisper and zero hour doesn't need anything special. Polaris lance is helpful but not needed
I hope all OG destiny players have fun with the finale shape definitely will be watching destiny community deserves a grand finale
Might be wrong but it sounds like you won't be playing it yourself and in that case I appreciate you a hell of a lot. Might genuinely be the only person I have seen to jump ship and not start needlessly trash talking about something you no longer take part in
I’m excited my fellow guardians I pre ordered final shape this week
@@valdemarsimonsen9612 yeah your right I was eight years in and just had enough but definitely want to see people get there fun out of the destiny franchise and it’s end of the light and dark saga it’s been a bumpy road but the fans deserve it there’s no need to trash a game that brought people together GG

I haven't seen hardly any complaints about the difficulty of the actual mission, but just complaints that the locked power level isn't mentioned. Even the basic Vanguard playlist tells you that your power is capped and Seasonal activities do the same.
People forget how hard this mission was especially with its old modifiers and the limited kit we had to tackle it. Match game was terrible, you had to use Hardlight, Borealis, or an osmosis build.
the legend sprint to the boss to fight the boss bullet sponge on a time crunch even with optimized builds and teams is fkn insane tho, like God damn can't even get to the boss room before time runs out even with quick ad clear and sprinting through puzzles
You have to be dying constantly to not make it in time. We 2 manned legend and on our first attempt we had the final boss at a sliver of health before running out of time. On that run we did maze blind and the jump puzzle. On subsequent run we had plenty of time to spare
Get good
It's not a bullet sponge, what are you talking about? You can kill it only using polaris lance! Through all the comments it seems people rather die a thousand times before they put down their favorite weapons instead of using not even the meta but good rolled weapos
@@emmanuelmares4251 you're full of shit. You can't do the final brig on legendary with Polaris alone. There's no crit spot for 3/4 of its health pool. You would far exceed 20 min plinking with a primary scout.
@@pirate135246 some people play it solo, bro. it's very much easier with a team but the majority of those complaining have to be solo players
My complaint is how many times you have to redo the missions for the quest. the 20 minute timer is pretty brutal, especially with a boss room with such little cover, random things spawning on you, and tripmines just popping up on you. But having to do the levers inbetween aswell just sucks up too much time. So you launch the mission, do the first ad clear rooms, get all the way to the levers, then go back to orbit and redo it again so you actually have time to plink away at the boss.
Normal mode is pretty useless to play other than I guess the vault puzzle for the ships, but it's also very easy. Legend is just a bit too tight for me to easily solo just because of the pressure from the timer. Usually I manage to get the boss into his second phase as the timer runs out because of just lack of ammo to deal with a boss with no crit spot.
Also why the fuck do shanks still not count for weapon kills for things like sunshot and graviton lance?
My Fireteam was running it pretty casually and were goofin around a bunch in the normal. Got lost a few times because back in the day we almost exclusively ran the legend version, so nobody knew the normal way and we still had 10 min spare.
As someone who cleared ZH solo on normal and tackling it solo again on Legend, I personally love the challenge because it keeps you motivated to improve your loadouts, etc. Much like Cross stated too, it could very well be a preparation for what TFS will provide, a much more enriching and challenging experience which I'm 100% down for!
It's kinda wild that I can solo The Whisper mission with ease but can't do Zero Hour
Honest question: where are you struggling? I’m a really casual player and can do it on normal difficulty with the right loadout with at least 5min left. Currently trying to get better with the route to the boss and will attempt legendary as soon as I’m able to reach the boss in 15min or less
Just keep going in and tweeking your loadout. You'll learn from your mistakes. You can speed through enemies with thunder lord or another good heavy then arrive at boss with little heavy ammo or you can conserve heavy and get to the boss with little time. I find with Prometheus lense and a sniper the need for ammo at the boss isn't high.
That’s the point they said whisper was too easy 😂 so they made zero hour harder honestly it’s still not very difficult my first time doing legend we still had 5 minutes left when we completed it takes 13 minutes to get to the boss and like 2 to kill the boss 😂
Shit humbled me, i usally just banner titan everything for an enjoyable gaming experience, but i actually had to lock in and get off my lazy ass and play for once🤣
right? im so used to going around and punchpunchpunch
It's the appropriate level of difficulty given how strong we have become. I think this better emulates the feel of when it first came out, which was difficult for the time but would absolutely be a walk in the park today. I was honestly surprised at how easy Whisper was even compared to its first release, so I think this change is warranted.
I never ran zero hour when it was first around but my fire team jumped in all for the first time. We were able to run around and explore the place and still got it done. The boss room is a little much, but it's easily doable.
Nobody said it should be easy. They are saying 1810 should be 1810 not 1830 because of the incompetence of the Bungie devs that put the wrong level cap. FYI this year as been the worst for Destiny player count and they missed revenue by 45% all of this while Bungie catered to streamers nerfing everything to the ground and making patrol scale to power with you. When it's all said and done the video to describe Destiny/Bungie will be "the game/studio that streamers destroyed".
I absolutely hate neomuna for that reason
“We want it to feel like a war zone”
The enemy density is subpar all this does is make hobgoblin one shot for no reason
Not to mention the “city” is completely barren and the “protectors” (cloudstriders) do next to nothing
Hell one of them even died
Zero hour isn’t super hard the only challenge is the platforming and the fact you have 20 mins
Not everyone is a pve elitist I mostly do PvP going flawless is a better challenge and the pressure is real and not some artificial pressure from a timer
Ig I just have a different perspective on what difficulty is
👍
@@SepticEmpireTo be fair, only 2 cloudstriders can exist at once
@@thunderchief7256 true but I wish they actually did more
And it also could have been a good opportunity to add a new class/subclass/or some ability since there is now one left
Like nimbus could make us the second cloudstrider or even make Osiris one
They could have even made skimmers part of it too literally anything besides corny dialogue
Imo it would have been cool to have to fight them THEN gain their trust
Especially considering the lore and how they view guardians all in saying is it’s a missed opportunity
My only issue with the mission is that the air strikes are bugged and sometimes insta kill you from full health/woven mail/100 resil/triple solar resist, even though you're out of range of them. It even says the Architects killed you while highlighting a dreg/vandal. That's obviously a bug.
That's not difficulty. Thats a bug.
Zero is based on using the correct strategy to complete the legend, while Whisper allows for more mistakes
Ran it twice the other day with my clanmates on Legend. We failed it once only because we couldn't remember the routes during the exploration/jumping puzzles and made it to the boss room with little time left.
Cleared it with time to spare on the 2nd attempt. Like I said on reddit, mileage may vary for everyone else, but I didn't think it was overly hard at all.
I think what they are trying to say is that 75% of players can’t even find a team for raids and GM’s. They will probably never be able to experience the end of the light and Darkness saga. It does take a lot of time to find groups that have the drive to get better. I have had groups then they leave and it takes a while to find another. Do I want it to be easier? No, but they do need to offer lower level players that do not have the time to opportunity to experience the game even if it means you only get the weapon with limited perks. If we are concerned with sales that’s what I would do. Division was just like that. If players did not have time to invest then they just would never play on world tier 5 but they still got to experience the game as a whole.
The fact that to experience the end of the campaign you have to do the raid is ridiculous
@@KelgorothTheFinalShape You won't have to do the raid, they said multiple times that World's First will unlock the final mission for everybody.
@@gav9808 which means most players will miss out on a huge context of the "saga" for how the ending came to be because of the inaccessibility to the final fight and also majority are not players that would have the time to watch FS world first for said missing context.
@@lunadead Probably not, considering that Bungie uses cutscenes every time the world’s first happens for every story involved raid since DSC
Back in my day, it was on Heroic. For the "hard mode"
It’s tough solo for sure. I ran quite a few times to get the route down. Also, once I put on Polaris Lance and used vorpal and a adept big ones mod on my heavy it was no problem. Run double damage resist for the daily burn and you’re golden. You can also hit a public event rally banner with triple heavy reserves and load straight in from there. You keep the extra heavy. Switch your chest back the daily damage resist mods right when you load in. Didn’t even realize the light level was 1830 til I watched this. Knew something seemed a bit more difficult.
As someone who soloed ZH yesterday and was super frustrated by it and figuring it all out…it’s perfectly fine where it’s at.
The timer is the problem not the difficulty. I don’t mind it being hard just kill the timer.
It is easy for Cross to say that. He has access to really great group of players and can get through the challenging content without any problems or issues.
Get a better team then
Probably because Cross is also a hardcore player who participates in Day 1 contest mode and challenge mode raids. Players like that would get extremely bored if the game was too easy and its the players like him that bring in new players that keep the game alive
He has all the raid and dungeon weapons and it is his full time job to be good.
@@emilianonuke I have a better suggestion. Make all things pay to win so that I can just buy it.
i ran the mission as a average player with a average team and i still finished it on normal difficulty. It is challenging yes and lfg can be really annoying but it is still very possible
I think they tried to make Whisper harder than before, but with Zero it was already one of the hardest so I think they retained that as if it were easier, it wouldn’t hold up the same
I just want like an extra two or three minutes on the legend timer
I’m good at moving fast, but my friends aren’t, and we ended up running out of time on brig phase like three times before getting it done. A couple extra minutes would still provide a sense of urgency and require some speed, but wouldn’t make it so agonizingly close for people who seem to have anti-platform magnet boots.
Considering it takes like 15 minutes to even get to the boss yeah that’s fair (assuming you take the intended route and not OOB or skip)
I am still debating on purchasing Final Shape because the Pantheon raid event is showing me that what's coming in Final Shape isn't for casual players and to not purchase it if you are one.
Yeah pantheon is already not for casuals lmao. I think that’s a terrible excuse to not buy final shape, there is zero way they won’t still cater to casuals. If you don’t wanna buy it just don’t buy it
Exactly the same, im likely going to wait for it to be on sale.
I already have one job, im not looking for a 'game' i have to prep to be able to do the activities in the game.
Prepare who? The elitist ? The 1%?
Casuals will just quit earlier and D2 will die faster.
That's what you have to understand. The Elitists want the casuals to quit. They feel they can keep the game going on their own.
That said, Zero Hour isn't bad (outside of the buggy Brig boss). It's definitely something a newer player would need to be carried through.
I still haven't played zero hour but in the whisper mission the main issue I had on normal difficulty solo was bad internet connection that booted me out multiple times, I had to actually restart the mission due to time only once.
Btw I started playing Destiny 2 that the original whisper was sunset.
I think there's opportunities for difficulties to vary, instead of just being the same modifiers every time. Zero hour normal is negative light level, but there also are no darkness zones, no champions, a short respawn timer, and 2x time.
The issue with them saying "it's not meant to be easy" is they've just opened the floodgates for everyone who's not played before - to now play by making the previous expansions free. They've invited so many new or returning people in, given them a big task on a time limit for availability - and it's fairly challenging. I can get the complaint. I'm struggling to beat it on legend within the timer but have beaten it (in a group) on normal.
Those same players will be greeted by difficulty when they try legend lost sectors for exotics and gms for adept weapons. In other words, your point has no validity. Theres plenty of content u can sleep through with no gear or build. Play that if this is too hard.
Legend lost sector's aren't hard at all if you just take your time, agree with the gm part tho.
@@arkyree legend lost sectors are the exact same power delta tho. Yes theres an added timer to zero hr but its the same kind of pain. Players need to accept that their should always be both easy and harder difficulty activities at a game and stop babying the player base when something is hard. Get good. Focus on your gear and build and then focus on not dying before anything else. U will get better if u actually try.
@@eliedaniel1083 You're right, everything shouldn't be easy. But at the very last they should just go ahead and change it from saying 1810 power to correct number.

I came in at beyond light - so this was my first experience of Zero Hour. First run got to the boss with 3 mins on the clock. Second run got there with 20 mins on the clock. This was a 2 man fire team, and on the first run I was surprised at the durability of the ads. but still doable. I was running bombardiers stasis hunter with wish ender (not exactly meta) for the second run. Team mate using solar titan slam build. I don't think we can do legendary the same way. but the base is very doable.
The only issue I have with Zero hour, Is newer players (and there are A LOT right now) seeing 1810 and thinking it should be doable. I'm fine with a challenge, completed my run with 5-6min left my first go around. But to my friend who just returned after years away there was no indication that this was not solo friendly, that it was 1830 etc and I can understand that being frustrating.
My first run I only finished with 4 seconds to spare, was not expecting to get my ass kicked this much and I absolutely love it
Me soloing zero hour (normal) it was hard, and I had ruffley 2 ish minutes left on the clock. (Was sling hunter)
The only thing that makes legendary zero hour hard is the jump "puzzle" on the out side wall. My solution? Stasis walls or strand grapple. You get a rally flag before the boss.
It's a Legendary Mission, at a fixed difficulty. Legendary has a meaning people. That said, it still wipes the floor with me on solo more times than I care to admit here.
I think whisper is not as difficult compared to zero hour because not only is there not three to four rooms worth of ads BEFORE the jumping puzzle , but whisper basically puts you on parkour rails for the first 3-4 minutes , zero hour does not care , YOU have to find the answers , not look for red platforms
Scrubs are the only ones complaining. This new gen wouldn't survive the old era
I never played Zero Hour or The Whisper when they first came out. I've played the re-release, and dawg... that sh is not difficult at all
😂 I've played both... The new one is easier imo I've solo'd it twice
I agree with you, I think if you don’t have some friends to play with tho solo is hard
They were much harder then (no special weapons/slow movement). This is super easy
Yea like Whisper is a shell of itself... try it in a shit double primary system with more than Famine modifiers of heavy ammo draught and you get an impossible Whisper
I think “alienating” is a strong word because we literally have fireteam finder so you could easily find people to carry you regardless. If you like to solo then you better be prepared or good at it then. Like if you want to be stubborn and never complete zero hour or get help to beat it then that’s on you. I beat it on normal solo just fine but I’m preparing to get help on legend if it poses too much pressure for me.
Zero Hour has always been my favorite exotic mission. I love how it feels on Legendary.
