  • In my last store update, I showed you some shiny metal brackets I had added to my shelves. I mentioned that I didn't like them and that I wanted to rust them. Well, I did just that, and I love the way they turned out! Then I needed to cover the electric stove top, so I made a noodle board for it. I love it too! And I have another peek at the store. I hope you enjoy the video!

Sandy Awesome. Love the video. The stove cover sure looks so much better. WOW. The shelf brackets look so much better. Nice job. Store looking so nice. But you do need lots more. Then have stuff there to continue to make things. Both of you are working so hard and it shows. Tell Hubby he does great building work. OH yeah, he painted too.

@@sandyscountrycrafts That's the hardest part about handmade! You have to actually make it all. I want to start a small booth here at our base BX but the idea of having to (hopefully) make stuff everyday to refill is daunting. Hope you're able to supplement with either consignment things or stuff you can resell maybe.

I just did a stocking like you just showed in your Christmas in July post. I have a few of them, they are small and will be making a swag for my door for next Christmas. TFS

I love how the noodle board tured out. The brackets look much better rusted. All your projects turn out looking great! I always wanted a noodle board but the prices were a bit much. My mother in law got me one for Christmas last year but it is black and just has my kitchen on it so this gave me inspiration to redo mine and i think i will do mine like yours! Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh Sandy, your little store is looking great. I wish I could visit it.
The stove board with the chickens turned out really nice, a perfect idea. I love using the IOD transfers. Yes, you really have to work hard in rubbing them on but that depends on the object you’re working on. Glass it sticks real good. The way you can tell if it’s going down, you’ll see your transfer look somewhat change a little lighter. They just brought out their summer ones. They look beautiful especially the gold.
Here’s a little secret I do when using the Dixie Bell rust. When putting on the paint you don’t have to wait for it to dry just spray it on. Also have you tried the blue patina spray? You can use them both on your item. By the way that was a great idea rusting up those brackets. They look super n it’s perfect for your decor in the store.
    ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍🌟

Sandy I love the burner cover. If you put a coat of sealer (like polycrylic) on the paint or stain before applying transfer it transfers much easier. (at least it does for me) But don't use wax as the sealer. You can wax over transfer to seal it in but not under transfer.

    • @sandyscountrycrafts

Thank you so much for the tip! I keep a gallon of polycrylic in my craft room.

Well Sandy I watch to do this with the clear wax and the brown now I'm doing my bed. My bed is white I don't like the way it looks lthink I'm going to paint it green. Then I'm going to put the clear wax on it and then I'm going to use the brown to like age it and hopefully it'll turn out good. I wish I lived near you I would definitely be your helper. I've been making primative decor for years. When I was really selling I would do like five things at a time. And I would do it like a conveyor belt. My problem was is I did everything and I would get caught up in making a lot of different things and I should have stuck to 10 things that I liked the best.

Thank you! I feel the same way. I wouldn't have a place to set it aside. Although I watched Angie from Our Rustic Homestead and she has a much smaller one that would be perfect. I told her I would probably be doing one for my stove here at home. The video she did was 3 Simple Ways to Style a Stove Top Tray.
