First Local Cruise Night

For many years as I slowly worked on my car we would see the weekly cruise nights at the local Canadian Tire store.
Finally I have my car done enough to participate!
It feels great to check one more item off my list of firsts.

I like to take my K car convert. to local car shows. I don't stop, I just drive through so they can gawk in envy.

Hey great little car. What happened with the high oil pressure and smoking?

Thanks for asking. I have taken some of the advice from a few of the comments left so far. Most of the time the smoke is less if I get it good and warm before any hard acceleration. So far I have reduced the idle, I leave the choke out for a much shorter time, and I think since it’s warmer now the car heats up faster.
Still a bit odd that the oil pressure stays up for the first 5 minutes or so, but then it drops down to 50-60 and no longer an issue while warm. Hopefully when the engine is more fully broken in and rings seated the smoke will continue to be reduced.

An update if you didn’t already see it. I installed an oil catch can. This has made a big difference.
