Good vid! Were you fishing the canal to the right of boat launch or the bayou to the left? And did you fish before or after the cabins? Ive fished there 3 times in my kayak and only fished the canal to the right up until the cabins then turned back around. Let me know where the better areas are, thanks!
@ Brandon Johnson - Thanks for watching. I went under the bridge down the main Segnette Bayou in the direction of Lafitte. From there they have a canal that runs back towards Ames Blvd. Its loaded with Cypress trees along its bank.
That place is funny the way the fish act! I've learned that if you don't see bait fish around neither are the bass and I guess because of how many people fish there the bass are hard to get to bite! My last time there I kept seeing and hearing things hitting neither the base of the trees and I used my top water Bill Dance X caliber bass popper and caught a few one and two pounders but I caught a 4 and a half and a 3 lbs!!! That was my best day there!!!!
15 years ago, I used to fish from a camp out there and we would catch them 1 after another in the morning by watching the bait running and throwing a crank bait in the middle. Definitely not as easy these days, but their out there, just gotta work for them!
Nice mixed catch launch is closed now with Coronavirus have to run down to lafitte been catching a few in harvey cut going into little lake. Tight lines
504 Lousiana outdoors is free and me and my dad launch there and he has a really nice truck and nothing happens they have police rolling up there like every hour
Beautiful place. Nice and peaceful.
Yes, it certainly is!
