Instead of completing the e-wrap stitches, I leave them on so when I get to the next row, I have the pattern right on the loom and I never need to use rubber bands.
I just knitted this pattern - i don't use any markers when I am only using K1, P1 patterns - what I do is wrap the knit stitch, but I don't knit it off - then I go to the purl stitch and purl, then wrap the next knit stitch without knitting it off then do the purl - do this for the entire row then go back and knit off all the knit stitches
This video was pretty easy to follow until the part about how to secure the brim to the hat. I had to slow it down and re-watch a few times. I think that was mainly because the instructions only said to use the initial tail of yarn. From what it looked like to me, you used what was left from the top of the hat (after closing it) on the one side, and then you used the initial tail on the other side. Oh! I was also curious as to why we weren't shown how to attach the pom-pom. I've never done that before, so I didn't know how. I am very happy with how my hat turned out though, so thank you for your instruction. For my hat, I used a 40 peg loom, and I only needed one skein of Yarn Bee acrylic yarn (76 yards) super bulky size 6. I actually didn't need the whole skein, but pretty close! My hat will fit a grown man. :-)
Hi! Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment 🥰 the part about how to secure the brim to the hat is optional and super simple…. And if you want I can make a video about how to attach the Pom Pom… I haven’t shown it in this video because I’ve made it in other videos, and if you want, you can watch my other videos to see how to do it!
@@LanaPark thank you so much for your reply! I have actually made a second hat now because I absolutely LOVE this pattern! I have figured out how to secure the brim, and I will definitely go back to see how to attach a pom-pom! I am looking forward to checking out more of your videos!
This is actually called the Alternate Long Rib Stitch. It is the same principle as rib stitching only alternating the ribs. It can be any length of rib that you like, as little as three or as big as 5-6 or more. Makes a very nice hat. Good job!
I think I prefer what Lana used. It's shorter & sounds more cute/pleasant & less intimidating,lol. It's good however 2 learn/know the technical names 2,so thanx 4 the info!
You’re welcome. I made ur hat for the rice stitch oh my goodness it’s so beautiful. So I’m definitely trying this one, love the music too it’s so uplifting ❤❤
If I'm using a loom with an odd number of pegs, does that last peg match the previous peg or or should I use the alternate stitch (this matching the first peg of the next row)?
I came here to ask this and I'm still confused. If I have an odd number of pegs, do I skip a peg?.. this is only the 2nd pattern ive ever learned on a loom
I loved making the smaller version of this!! I want to make another one of these for my friend and I have yarn I would love to use but it is 7 jumbo- do I need to adjust the pattern? when i make the rows of 4, should i just do rows of 2, if that makes sense? Or still do rows of 4, but fewer rows total? Thank you! Love your videos! :)
This video has been out for a while, but I love the pattern. How much yarn did you use for the whole beanie? Would 180m/100g at needle size 7.0-8.0 be enough?
There are several different free apps you can download to your Smartphone to keep track. I use paper and pen personally. I write out the number of rows I want then when I start the row I put a / symbol next to it. That way I know what row I'm on if I get interrupted. When I finish the row I cross off the / making it look like X. Then I know to start the next row. Hope this helps.
@@LanaPark Thank you, total noob...just got a loom today, so wanted to make sure there wasn't some kind of rule about more pegs, even if it was still an even amount, lol
There are several very good videos on RUclips that compare the various stitches used in loom knitting. Just do a search on Ewrap vs Uwrap and you'll find them.
I made the brim at 9-10 cm, then I didn't understand . It says continue with the e wrap an purl stitch, How does that make the raindrop stitch. I couldn't see the difference inn the brim and the hat part. Did I miss something.? I am confused!! Help.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one that uses rubber bands for stitch markers!
Yes they’re very useful! 🥰
I always use mine, so I mark my pegs with dry erase markers in a pinch! Lol

Is the brim folded over to double thickness?
Yes it’s folded over
Nice video!
Thank you!
What weight yarn do you use? If loom is 5/8 spacing is #4 weight yarn to thin? Just saw this RUclips video and like the look of the hat.
Thank you! I've used yarn for hooks number 5
Hi , will this work flat as well as in the round ? Thank you
Yes
Can I do this on a 41 peg loom? How would this work for a scarf also?
You need a loom with an even number of pegs.
Yes it would work for a scarf working on flat
Could just skip 41st peg…. Just make sure to stretch work when finished to massage skipped stitch into place
@deadinteresting8905
Hi
I also have an uneven loom. I was also thinking for skipping one
Could I fold the brim over?
Yes of course! 🙂

hello can i use for 32 peg?

Hello how many rows to make the brim?
Hi, I've made 20-24 rows to make the brim (cant' remember right now)
I'm new to Loom Knitting. Can anyone tell me the difference between an eWrap and unWrap

you a need a loom with an even number of pegs. 4 rows 1ewrap-1purl and 4 rows 1purl-1ewrap, it's simple
@@LanaPark I get it. Thanks, Will this hat fit an adult woman?

Can you please say what size yarn??
This is 5
Why didn't you show us how to connect the pom pom to the bennie
Because I’ve already shown that in a lot of my other videos 🙂
How many is "several more rows"?
I think I've made 40. You have to reach about 28-30 cm including the brim
How would you make this work for a toddler/child?
it's the same, but the loom must have an even number pegs

Hi, in this video I've used yarn for hook n. 4,5-5
I am so frustrated.
Same here..kinda confusing
what is there so confusing?
@@jmcgory4850 Do an ewrap cast on row and then do four rows of ewrap purl and four rows of purl ewrap. Continue this until the end of the hat.

Why not? 🙂
How many rows are needed to make the beanie
36-40 rows. it’s more important to reach the length of 28 cm including the brim than the rows you make. It depends on the gauge of the yarn
How many total rows to make the hat?
I’ve measured the length of the hat (26-28 cm including the brim). By the way I think I’ve made 30 rows
