Grant, Cole, Yared, Hobbs,…it is a great time for fans of men’s American middle distance running.
@@billbrazeal9888 And so many others coming through.
It takes a special kind of athlete to be dissapointed with the 2nd fastest indoor 3000 and the 6th fastest all time 😂
@iansiegler1036 we're never satisfied with our accomplishments lol.thats the curse
interviews like this show me why cole is one of my favorite runners, every time he steps on the track you know its gonna be lights out! Incredible race between him and Grant, what a time for distance running in America!
The is a champion spirit. When you run your best but pissed you lost. Cole Hocker has that dog in him.
@@ReunionThereToCare This reminds me of a scene from the movie 'Indiana Jones and the last Crusade ' when the man told Indiana ' You lost today kid, but it doesn't mean you have to like it. ' Cole will be back.
@@mauricepointer9555 amazing
This is why running is beautiful
Cole Hocker is one of the classiest young men to have ever donned a singlet. He has been this way since a child in Indianapolis.
Hell yeah, Cole Hocker. You a real one.
Hocker has officially left Teare in the dust. I hope teare can rise to the occasion and run with him, they are both so fun to root for
Elite mentality. Cole will come back even stronger.
Great run by Hocker. It shows the heart of a champion. You have to lay it on the line. The emotion is the extreme disappointment for not winning from a maximum effort.
You bounce back after a short time and move forward to better things.
That is being truthful to yourself.
This guy is epic!!! Can’t wait to see what else he does this year!
Nothing but respect for this guy. Represents what athletics means for me 100%. I'm a fan.
A class act. Impressive effort.
Cole and Grant are both absolute class, and the fact that Cole took the lead from further out than anyone expected deserves a lot of respect
Thanks to both runners for putting on an epic show
I love Cole's interviews, such an authentic guy.
Love his attitude, he is an amazing inspiration for so many runners out there.
The great American middle distance runner of the 1970’s Steve Prefontaine said, “To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.”
Hocker gave his best in that race.
Love the emotion! Shows he is still hungry regardless of the success he’s achieved. 2025 is going to be a great year for him.
Love his drive to compete. What a champion never satisfied
Heart of a champion
What an excellent representative of U.S Distance running. Obviously incredibly pissed that he lost, but immense respect for his opponent Fischer.
Cole made that race what it was. If he'd waited, he might of won, but they might not have the world record. I hope he can still take some pride in second. Bravo to both of them!!
Hocker is a baller. ballsy move to take the lead early and showed insane confidence. Can definitely build on this race and become even better
You have nothing to be disappointed about but losing stinks. You ran hard and you both were amazing. I am glad you had each other to push each other to the best. Great job!
Cole ran a heck of a race, nothing to be disappointed with, other than being right on the heels of Grant Fisher at the finish line, which is mass respect
Special athlete, proud of both Grant and Cole for running with such bravery on both ends! Amazing performance
After seeing this Jakob really has to think about how to win tactical 1500m championship final, this 3000m race shows that Cole has been building great aerobic base and will be very hard to beat.
Been a fan for a LONG time. Your humility is touching, but really should be damn proud of this race.
Gosh darn how can you not root for this man!?
Such a fierce and respectful competitor.
This will motivate him like no other im sure. All love Cole!
this guy is a winner, I love his passion
Never thought I'd be able to that claim US distance running is the best in the world
Was obsessed with Jim Ryun and his accomplishments when I was in HS when Centro was our top guy. I knew maybe we could get a medal, but never a WR.
I’m so glad the US is becoming stacked in talent.
Cole, you made Grant hurt, made him pay, made him Earn the world record ⏺! Your best days and racing are still to come. All the best.
This race would not have had an electric finish if it weren’t for that move you made. It takes balls to do what you did and the fitness is phenomenal. Can’t wait to see what else you have lined up this year
Cole was gutsy AF, loved watching this race.
Great runner. Great competitor. Worthy successor of Steve Prefontaine.
US running is so fun right now. Cole, Grant, Goose, et al pushing the limits and inspiring a generation. 👏 🇺🇸
Hobbs Kessler ran pretty fast today as well. just behind Naguse.
Even better yet they are all such great humble guys. As an Australian I normally find American athletes quite arrogant but these guys are such legends
@@nickbloomfield4236 You must be talking about the US sprinters! They could learn humility from our distance guys for sure.
Cole is a class guy. If I could bottle his competitiveness, I’d be a gazillionaire. Better things to come for Cole and Grant.
Hard to be disappointed with running faster than anyone else had ever run before today. Got to just give Grant Fisher his respect and be joyful in the ability to be a part of history. The season is young, so much to look forward to. With Naguse also breaking a record, great things are in store this season.
Cole Hocker is my hero.
Proud of you, Cole! You should be proud, too! Only up!
He's the next gen superstar. All love to Cole. He puts in the work and this will only make him more hungry. He and Grant are the next duo to own the track. 3000m is such a hard race between 1500 and 5000m. Awesome race Cole.. Excited to see what you'll do in 2025!
Hey Cole, that is an unbelievable time for the start of the season - you are many steps closer to running the fastest 3000 in the world. 🥇
Great race Cole. It is fine to show emotion after such a fight. You have to care in order to achieve greatness 🙌
Can't beat the authenticity of track athletes.
Prediction: This 2nd will spur Hocker onto a insanely good rest of the season!
Great honesty and desire.
love this guy, keep being you cole!!! 🐐
SUPER race! World record time! Neck and neck - two great competitors!
Great to see Cole running from the front 👏💙
Incredible race by Cole and Grant!
Great interview - so impressed with Cole, he said all the right things.
We love you dude
He shouldn’t hang his head man Grant Fisher is one of the worlds best distance runners forget just the US. Grant is also looking like he’s at his best fitness. So bro take solace in knowing who you lost to
Cole, you are the greatest!👏
Love this guy ❤. True competitor.
Great champion, go get them again man!
Cole Hocker has NOTHING to feel bad about. He broke the existing WR.
Congrats for him!
This is what champions look like-- pour everything into those "A" races and expect to hit the tape. Any other result is a gut punch
I think it’s just a huge relief of pressure lifted off his shoulders. You see Centro run a great race to win Gold but was never a factor on the world stage. Cole wins Gold and proves he BELONGS and will be a factor moving forward. Those tears are just relief, I feel, in him just showing the world Paris wasn’t a fluke and he’s here to stay.
Not competitive on the world stage?! Give Centro much more respect. He has an Oly gold and Worlds silver and bronze
@@lukadad5921 Oly gold in a time slower than the top 8 mile times at the Millrose Games this year
That time is one massive consolation prize!
Cole, your time broke the previous world record.
People in the comments calling him a cry baby have never been passionate about something... Different emotions can evoke tears...
You ran an outstanding race. 3 seconds faster than you planned. You’ll get him next time.
Terrific interview.
Great guy. Great race.
Hocker is already a legend.
You fought for it Cole. Nothing to be ashamed of. It was a great race. More opportunities to come. Keep rolling with head held high.
To be the best you must always see room for improvement.
I can appreciate how he feels and that he shows it. Great race Cole Hooker!
still love your race in the olympics in paris - that one is ALL yours
What an amazing athlete.
That 25k might be choking him up a little :/
Awesome race
You only get emotional if you care. CH you're the 1500m GOAT and don't forget it
@@HotShot_13 He's certainly up there but he's still behind HEG and JI in my books.
As someone who only recently started watch T&F, I find it so strange that the winner doesn't immediately go congratulate the second place person, especially when it's this close
The women do.
@@MMichiganSalveRegina Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. I wouldn’t read too much into it with Hocker and Fisher. They both seem to have a lot of respect for their competition.
There are only positive takeaways for him. He set a PB, he broke the previous world record and he barely got beaten. He's on the right trajectory and I think the Olympic gold medal is just further confirmation that he's been doing the right things for a while now. You can't win them all!
Good thing this wasn’t the Olympics or the World Championships. You won’t win them all!
It was a spectacular race and only one guy goes across the line first. It will be you again soon.
BIG CHAMP!
Shoresy and Nat would be proud of you, bud! You really hate to lose!
Ballsy move at 2400m. It was a race for the ages.
❤️
100 percent
Not only did he lose but he missed the WR and AR by just a tiny bit.. that’s a tough loss
But he still broke the old WR. So he still did so well.
Absolutely superb performance and it's easy to criticise from the sofa but even when he made the move at 600 I thought "This is a really bad plan". Why help Fisher out like that?
I thought the same but in retrospect that absolutely made this race a classic. Both Hocker and Fisher are legends.
@rm1387 Yeah, it was great for the viewers. Just not a smart choice tactically. Still, respect to them both.
It made it far more interesting to watch.
Next time wait for the final 300m to make your move.
@@Tommasini9 He wanted it to be historic, and it would've been slower had he not made the move. Credit for giving it a go. Not like he'll do that in US or World Champs. That's what this kind of race is for, just to see what you can do.
@@Pianoman1234321 Cole's strength is his kick over the final 200-300m, plus he was moving up in distance? Better to play your strength vs trying to kick... with 600m to go, against 5km stud.
Why is bro crying abt this im so confused
came second by a fraction of a second and lost out on the world record when hes been targeting this race since the olympics
nanners
Great run
Melrose is better than Olympics
@@robertwatsonsr.3744 Given the choice between the Wanamaker Trophy 🏆 or the Olympic Games 🥇, I'd take the Olympic gold 🥇.
