This is a really great video. I'm in the Desert Vista band, but even still I appreciate this fabulous show and Highland's win at state. Congrats on that. About the show: Masquerade was my favorite part, I loved "All I Ask Of You" -- the woodwinds sound great, and the soloists were awesome. Good job.
its in supposedly, it is true that Highland tied for first place. i go to that school and know like half of the Marching band, trust me, they tied for first place. and its not surprising that they did cause they are amazing :)
Oh, well then my bad mrhsband13. I thought mountain ridge was good this year. i saw their video from NAU band day, it was really impressive! I never even noticed how big their band was.... but man i was impressed.
The Director, Eric Haenfler, did this show with my high school back in the 1980's, The Spirit of Madison from Madison South Dakota, of course it is not the exact same show, and there are some DCI influences. Mr. Haenfler has successfully directed several bands in his career. Spirit of Madison Band was the first band he took to Macy's in 1986, I was a freshman and it was such an amazing trip and experience. He also took Sioux Falls SD Lincoln HS to Macy's, AND This band, Highland HS in 2004. He has influenced so many young musicians. I am very thankful for the opportunity to march for Mr H., I moved to Gilbert AZ in 2004 from WA and was so amazed and excited to hear that My HS director from SD was HERE in Gilbert taking another group of kids to Macy's. I went to one of their exhibition shows and had a chance to say hello and thank you to Mr. H. Hard to believe it is 30 years ago that we marched on Herald Square... amazing memories!
mountain ridge sucks. they just have a lot of people. this weekend they didn't deserve any of the captions that they won. highland is soo much better and i'm not even in that band
Nice! I'm a former HHS band/drumline alumn! Good to see the program with continued success...
i just loved doing this show!! it was the fun experience for me to do it my first year!
I miss this... great show, band, guard, and drums

Marshall yoes and gahh the girls name slips my mind
lol i don't think i'd go that far considering the level of performance bands in other states are at compared to arizona bands.
