Speaking of emissions, EU should let manufacturers build this type of car (sports cars) without taking into account their overall emissions. Because sports cars are not sold in high numbers and are driven few km a year. So the impact on the environment is insignificant
EU should start to wisen up that the CO2 produced by the cars or any vehicle on the surface of Earth i.e. ground level is not the cause for the Global warming and it can be remedied easily by increasing the forests. However, it is the CO2 that is pumped in the higher atmosphere by those airplanes is the real culprit since there are no green plants at that altitude to turn that CO2 into Oxygen, and at that altitude the CO2 will remain about 500 years.
You re wrong...because this assumption would require some sort of common sense which these clowns dont have...luckily there are a few people like you or me out there that have common sense and some sort of IQ.
Also they should factor in that emissions do jack sht to environment...

Not many cars are made like this.This just got everything! The exterior design and the colour of interior which makes its so gorgeous.I can’t ignore such gorgeous interior with those great seats and it’s Lexus! I hope I could review such car someday.
And toyota/lexus reliability. This engine will not break down on you, even if you beat it daily. Just so long as you change fluids often.

Every engine in present days are the same reliability, but the electric part is not so sure. Degrades over time is substance of electronic, but its bring convenient, comfortable, worth is it ?
Driving a car without any options, electronic its like brick phone, only basic functions.

Suffice it to say, japanese engines like toyota or honda cannot be compared to VAG engines. For examples, technology like D4-S that clean the intake ports, you will not find that on any other modern car.

Simple as that. Lexus is a highe end luxury brand and it is one of the most reliable brands in the world. European luxury brands are worst reliable. These are facts gathered from the consumers statsitics. The question you should ask though, why this makes you uncomfortable? If, you can give an honest answer to this question, then you may have a better understanding why Japanese brands are more reliable than Euroean brans.
Nothing has more soul than a Naturally aspirated petrol engine...this is one hell of a V8 with a soul...those turbo V8’s are fast and torquey for sure...but this, this is something else!
No one captures the sheer joy and fun of driving the LC like you, Max. And no one comes close to coining terms like car porn and wet farts to describe features. I’ve had a coupe for 2+ years and everything you say is spot on. I bought it as a daily driver - great, but find it’s a great GT getting about 30 miles per gallon on a 500 mile trip, and a fun performance car - have taken it close to top speed. The active rear steering, auto rear wing and carbon fiber roof make a noticeable improvement in handling. Even an amateur driver like me could tell. The induction sound and exhaust note are completely addictive making it hard not to rev it out all the time. The infotainment system is no big deal. Just set it all up and use voice commands for just about everything. However, the back seats are a joke. I tortured a teenager by making him sit back there for 20 miles. As one sarcastic reviewer put it, “They’re perfectly comfortable for people with no legs!” If I could suggest one improvement it would be to have a camera up front or a 360 one. Thanks, Max. Keep those reviews coming.

Every reviewer trash talks the infotainment system, specifically the trackpad interface. I came close to not buying this car because of these reviews though the many other positive aspects, particularly the drive train, overcame my hesitancy. Having owned the car for 3 months and compared it to my current and previous cars (MB s class 560), BMW (650i and z40i), Tesla S, Volvo XC90) all of which have touchscreens and/or rotary dials, I can honestly say that the Lexus interface is comparable in to all, with the exception of Tesla which is in a class by itself.
The key to using the Lexus touchpad interface is to a) read the directions (something most reviewers don't seem to do) and b) go into setup to adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad to your liking which for me is to make it much less sensitive to movement than the factory setting. I also use Apple CarPlay exclusively for my entertainment and find the touchpad works great (I got a wireless CarPlay adapter which works perfectly). I would agree that Lexus needs to improve the interface for the radio and for every car's navigation system the best interface is still voice command. The navigation voice command works well in the Lexus though no where as good as Tesla.
Reviewers also don't like the fact that there are no buttons to adjust the seat heater/ventilation or steering wheel heat. This was another major drawback in my opinion. However, the Climate Concierge feature works great. Simply dial up the temperature slightly and the seats and steering wheel automatically gets warm. Lexus seems to have perfected how to keep the car's temperature just right and minimize the number of buttons I have to click; just adjust the temperature and the car does everything else.
Needless to say, the best part of this car is the drive experience and its looks both exterior and interior. This car compares to others cost 50-100% more. This is a classic car that I hope to keep for many, many years.
i never had a problem with my Lexus input and i dont like fatty fingerprints on screens in a luxurious car !

I brought the LC500 last Saturday and today is my pick up date at the dealer. It's a gray colour with black/red interior. I put my down payment right after testdrive. It's absolutely amazing!

I would say a mix between an Aston Martin and an American Muscle Car for the big V8 sound.

This car is one the most reliable cars in the world. it is a high end GT car. Until Europeans start to make such a high end car with similar reliability, they should not be offended by this car's presence in the market. Such an underrated car for its superior quality.
I can't help myself commenting but I just hate it when cars have those kinds of rear seats.
Either make the the passenger area a bit longer so a person can actually sit in the rear seat,
Or remove the rear seats entirely. They are not mandatory. It's not a damn checkbox you need to tick.
I have never ever seen a new Best sounding, Best looking, Average Performing and Shit entertainment screen on a car before. It is awesome!!! No car can beat this GLORIOUS cabriolét.
And it's not targeted to Hoonigan people and that is AWESOME indeed! It should be seen as a luxury item not a Toyota Supra

C'mon, you're a smart guy. I can tell. Do you really think Lexus wants us to use that trackpad? That means we have to take our eyes off the road and fiddle around while traveling at over 100 feet per second. That's really dangerous. As for a touch screen, same thing. The second you take your eyes off the road, bad things can happen and they often do. Sometimes it is necessary to do this but the less time you spend looking at buttons or screens, the safer you are. Therefore, Lexus came up with the most perfect way possible in this day and age. All we have to do is talk to the car. It's called VOICE COMMAND and you're much too smart not to know about this. The trackpad is only there to input your personal preferences when you run MENU/SETUP. After that, it is very rare that you'll use the trackpad. My 2018 is an awesome car and I haven't used the trackpad more than ten times in four years. I can call wife or any of my contacts. I can text them. I can find an address. I can find any kind of restaurant. I can listen to any music or radio station. I can check on traffic. I can control the climate in the car. There isn't much I can't do. One of the few things is warm or cool the seats but by saying "Show Seat Warming Screen", the infotainment system gets me directly to that screen and then I look down for a split second and slide my fingers up or down the trackpad. Using CLIMATE CONCIERGE, I've never had to change a thing. So, wouldn't this have been a much better video...and certainly more fair to Lexus...to demonstrate just how wonderful the infotainment system really is and how simple it is to use? It's certainly not a bad feature of this car but if you don't read THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS because you think you know it all, then you haven't been fair to Lexus.
We got 6 cars in our Garage, 1. Porsche 911, BMW M4 cabriolet, Audi R8 V10 , nissan GTR, S63 AMG cabriolet....but when I drive our Lexus LC 500 Cabriolet it is much different it gives you much fun it's one of the best cars which I ever driven....love LC 500
It's only when i saw one of these on the road, i realized just how awesome they look. " I thought it was a half million pound car" (Doug Demuro said it was one of the only cars he had ever given a 10 for quality )

This and the IS500 are the only new cars I'd ever want to buy. Absolutely love the styling, interior and the sounds. Truly amazing.

I absolutely love this car! There are so many supercool cars out there but this masterpiece has got something special. A LC500 for every day driving, a LFA for the weekend and Nismo GT R for trackdays - that would be really cool...
I'm 20 years old from Japan and a person who dreams of owning cars like Bentley Continental. Basically GT car. I am not even started anything to be successful, so maybe not something to worry about yet. I always think "well I could never be an English gentleman that rides Bentley. I wish there are world-class Japanese Grand Tour." Then, Lexus decided to introduce this beauty. Porsche 911, Bentley Continental GT, Merc SL, are all stunning in their own ways. But, Lexus LC is at the top. Hopefully, I will experience the life of owning it in 10 years.
p.s. Toyota makes a popular but hideous-looking car called Alphard/Vellfire for the Japanese market. The luxury mini-van is very popular here. I know Toyota makes that car because it's very profitable and there are needs to it. But thank you Toyota for making cars like LC500 and Landcruiser as well:) You guys are amazing!

Seriously underrated car. It's my all time favorite car right now. agreed the nav/control/touch pad system is crap but at least it has Apple CarPlay. And I love the tan leather interior. It's the only color to get IMO. The Green or Blue exterior with the tan is perfect.

An electric car will never compare
That 5 liter V8 is one of the most reliable engines. Built like a tank, and using D4-S, meaning it doesn't carb up the intake valves. Lexus builds sportscars/supercars that last.

ME: 193cm / 100kg (6'4"/220) and the side seat bolsters dig into my legs. Not good. Otherwise... a GREAT car. In the right color... its soooo good looking. If you are actually writing a check for a daily driving Grand Touring sport car, the 3/4 sec slower versus a super car does NOT matter. It is fast! It is comfortable. And Lexus IS the MOST reliable car in the world.
SOMEONE ANSWER WHY Lexus can not get rid of the VACUUM CLEANER BUMPER? NO it's not classy or advanced. Love everything about the car otherwise. It is an amazing car to drive. It's almost too smooth that why driving without cruise control is dangerous. I looked down I was doing 167kph in a 110. Timeless car.

I own a Lexus nx. I heard this thing fire up in a dealership. It’s a head turner. You said it, more special than fast. I want a cabrio and this is top choice. Reminds me a lot of my friend’s 928. I also own a Boxster S… but I’ve gotten old. I need comfort.

Who really need a 620hp tri-turbo, triple clutch, hybrid, whatever car ? This LC500 is sleek to the essential : the best sounding v8 engine (better than AMG OM156 ??), reliabilty (by Toyota inventors of quality), and a fantastic look, outside and inside (better than much more expensive "super cars")...
