But the worst part, is that this trauma is NOT unto death, no no. The headcrab needs that host alive they overpower you and rewire your brain, even with the loss of limb or such. The headcrab has the capability to just re-vamp that old portion of your brain during your developments inside the womb to grow you back another one. Only the hands it will give you are gnarled and mutated beyond recognition of any mortal hands, even the ligaments which would have once been the palms are now committed to these terrible claws. Before Half Life: Alyx nerfed the ever living shit out of them these zombies were so dangerous. In the first game they casually broke down huge wooden doors and busted through concrete walls to try. And shove you into their chest-mouth, a maw made of the muscles around the chest being revamped. Using fangs of ribs and teeth of bone, the host is forced to endure all of this affliction. And to feel themselves being used to ruthlessly tear apart then consume their friends and coworkers. Pure horror.
Pretty sure it was Half Life: Alyx that showed the basic zombie tear down concrete walls. Around the time you first get the shotgun was when that happened.
Terrible animation, sound design, lighting, rendering, and not even remotely funny or interesting. Yet, this is what the Half-Life fanbase seems to enjoy most. What a shame.
