  • BBC's response to criticism of handling 'Due Impartiality' on Question Time and its news programmes. Their response complies with Ofcom's Broadcasting Code, 'Section five: Due impartiality and due accuracy'. The Code and the word 'Due' enables the BBC to use its own judgement of what impartiality is in its programme, ie they can base their impartiality on, to quote part of the code's criteria, 'the likely expectation of the audience as to content'.

What is worse that we have to pay for this propaganda.

All the BBC has to do is show one example since June 2016 where Question Time has had a majority of Leave voters on the panel. They actually can't do it - watch and see that they won't.

See what a soft ride the interviewee gets when it's one EU-funded BBC employee questioning another.

Recently I have seen two programmes where the presenter tells the viewing audience that the clapping sounded louder for a pro brexit comment and did not reflect the number of people clapping - in effect becoming a clapometer for pro brexit comments. I have not heard her comment on pro remain clapping at all.

What can "due impartiality" mean except "we will be impartial when WE think we should be? " I.e. the "due" bit cancels out the "impartiality" bit.

The reality is. It's hard to find educated people who think Brexit is a good idea. Anyone who has any knowledge of economics, trade, the island of Ireland, Knows that it's a disaster for everyone involved. Most Brexiters are either ignorant or are wealthy and stand to gain from it.

It's not actually hard Suzuka. Those of us with an awareness of the world outside Brussels see independent countries that manage just fine without a foreign government or court. It can be done, and the idea that a vast bureaucracy that we pay billions for actually improves free trade is preposterous. It is a protectionist bloc.

Sorry Suzuka but the drivel you have aired shows you to be the ignoramus.

I’m educated. I’ve got an MSc in Economics from Manchester university (which is consistently in the top 50 global universities on the Wharton and Shanghai index’s). I studied European economics as one of the 8 modules of that course. I can tell you that I voted to leave because fiscally the Eu doesn’t work, it also fails to be considered an OCA (read up about it). Further there is an ethos difference in decision making between the uk (who make decisions on a fiscal basis) and Germany/France (who make decisions on a socio-political basis). I could go on. But to put it simply - you are totally incorrect in your assumption.
