    Welcome dear scene walker
I filmed with 2 different cameras, which will come as a separate walk, this scene marks PART 1.
I decided to go to a beautiful Finnish residential area.
To the village-like complex of Kartanonranta, which translates to "Manor's Beach".
It is located in the area of Sundsberg near the town of Masala in Kirkkonummi, Finland.
The area also has a beautiful nature trail and a small beach on the shores of Espoo Gulf, it is a long sea bay that juts inland and connects to the Gulf of Finland.
According to a competition organized by 'Business Finland', the residential area was the fourth best in Finland in 2009.
According to the agency 'Statistics Finland', in 2016 more than half of the inhabitants belonged to the highest income category.
The construction of Kartanonranta began in 2002, a village-like complex of small houses for families and versatile hobby opportunities.
The idea of the village is community and closeness to nature.
    HISTORICAL INFORMATION:
Kartanonranta or Manor's beach is a reference to a mansion that used to be in the area.
The oldest information about the Sundsberg region dates back to the 16th century, when the estates of the region sailed to Tallinn (Estonia) to sell timber and hops.
By the early 18th century, the estates had merged into the Sundsberg manor, built in 1829.
A daily steamboat connection to Helsinki from the mid-19th century brought many nobility to the area in summer.
The Soviet Union leased the area of which Sundsberg manor was part of, and after the return of the area, the main building in poor condition was demolished.
However, you can still feel the spirit of the old manor culture.
In addition to the numerous noble trees, the caretaker's house and the stone stable building were also restored.
I hope you enjoyed reading and i wish you a pleasant walk.
Thanks for watching and hope to see you in PART 2.

Thanks for the educational video. Really beautiful but I see that you would almost have to be born in this type of environment to deal with it. Where to put all of this snow, ladders on bldgs(to get snow off?), didn't see any snow blowers; just hand type 3ft. wide tools to move snow around? I guess people have a lot of snow day credit when they can't get to work? Sorry for my ignorance, I just don't know. Happy New Year to all of you Finnish people!! Thank you!!! Illinois, USA

Good day Larry, glad you could enjoy the snowy landscape, you will get used to working in the snow, do it once, do it all the time 😊
Roof ladders are regulated by law to allow safe access to roofs, in small village-like complexes such as this one snow blowers are not used, in the following video shot in the same area several snow clearing vehicles will pass us along the way.
Being late for work because of snow is not a valid excuse in Finland, no matter how cold or how much there is 😁
Happy New Year and greetings from Finland!

@@ScenesBySevy Thank you for your reply. The internet is great as it allows people like you to educate people like me (71 y.y.),as I haven't traveled much outside of the U.S..I've never been to Europe. I am looking forward to your videos to learn more about your country. Question: as I view yours & a Swedish youtuber I have notice that most people are reserved in saying hello as they pass by one another. Is this common? Illinois, USA

    • @ScenesBySevy
      @ScenesBySevy  Год назад +1

The internet has made the world feel closer to home, just a few clicks away from entering a completely different continent, seeing new places and learning about its history.
It is also the way for me to see known or unknown places.
Finland is a country that is not often in the news.
You've correctly observed the "Scandinavian greeting", it's the way it goes here, it's not meant to be rude to each other, it's a matter of respecting one's private space.
Some more compact community areas greet each other outside.
It's the same as snow clearing, you get used to it. 😉

In snow piles like this i almost constantly look at the ground, it's a more challenging walk compared to summer. 😋
However, the cold on my hands is what i'm most 'worried' about 😅
Thanks for tuning in again, have a nice day!

"Otherworldly" beauty. What would the annual income need to be of these folks?

    • @ScenesBySevy
      @ScenesBySevy  Год назад +1

In Statistics Finland's publicly accessible database, the average income of residents in 2016 was 37,485 and of a total of 1,173 over the age of 18, 673 belonged to the highest income category.
Glad you liked it Lee, see you in part 2 😉

I think it is also interesting to mention that if you want to buy a house in this area, prices start from €300,000 to €1,000,000.

I bet the audio is very quiet on that one too

Yes i filmed 2 walks in this neighborhood but with different cameras, the binaural recording on this video turned out to be a bit quiet, the other video should have stronger audio.
