Very informative !, I've been struggling with interference for so long even though I'm a mechatronics engineer i never studied this topic and never heard of it and only faced it while designing devices, my solutions so far where using another power supply and coaxial cables for signals (coaxial cables didn't always work).
Hi Dr Ali Shirsavar, why the noise is coming from the direction of the line and neutral, rather than from the PSU? As I know when we test the conducted emission, the LISN is analysing the noise from the DUT. Then why we design the EMI filter in an opposite way? Thanks.
Power supplies always have noise in them or transient voltage present in them caused due to inductive switching or other reasons...line filters provide constant voltage to your PSU
Thank you for these insightful filter design videos. I have a question why some manufactures omit some components and what are the values of the inductors and capacitors.
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. Question: When adding a CM filter to a device using a prepackaged SMode PS, should the CM filter be incorporated before or after the SMode PS? That is, should it be between the AC wall outlet and SMode PS, or between the SMode PS DC output and the device? This question assumes that whatever filter may already be inside the manufactured SMode PS is inadequate. My particular application is in trying to eliminate noise from a cooling fan in RF circuits without using two seperate power supplies.
I love the Video Sir. Very clear and informative. I have a question; since the line inductors for the differential and common mode chokes are in series, can’t we just use a single inductor? Same for the neutral inductors
Thank you for these insightful filter design videos!

I love you so much right now! If you ever write a book please let me know!!

What to do if i dont have earth connection ?? Only line and neutral then where to connect common mode capacitors ?
My new Favorite RUclips channel

Sir how we will chose a right value of these components???
Can these filter be applied to your pen to attenuate the noise when your writing on your board?. Great video!
😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for your teaching. Please introduce a video about the extra capacitor between P and N.

Same for the neutral inductors
Which path does the common mode current take, if there is no conductive chassis?
Wouldn't the return wire be connected to the chassis? If not, why not connect it to effectively 'short out' the red capacitor
I have a smps(in audio amp) which has all these components and I still have interference on fm band(mhz).
thank you, can I ask what type of capacitors are used to connect to chassis? please
None polarized capacitors
Thanks Ali jan!
Thank you Sir
so great sir
hi !
I like it , Can you share document in videos to help me ?
thanks you
i love your video, but i am sorry to tell this that scratchy marker thru paper much annoying
Sir,what are the value of capacitors? Thanks for the video
The noise of pen in irritating 😅
Your maker voice very irritating . Any nice video..
