The solution for the raids schedule is : You send Ex raid pass to all the active player and you put a Mewtwo raid at 6 a.m, another at 12 p.m. and the last one at 6 p.m. Everyone will have the chance to catch it. Problem solve.
Simonsays48 I agree. It's very simple. It's another thing to make it harder for a legendary to get caught and another thing to just give random opportunities to random players to make it.
I know a lot of people with double accounts and the majority of the people work at day, so it will work perfectly!

Yeah won't it suck having less than 10 people show up at one of the times and the battle timer just runs out on you. I don't think giving people multiple time windows is the answer because that splits up the already low numbers of trainers down. I say do it after normal work hours.

I think the egg timer is great, but would be nice to have the Raid last more than an hour. Also, for the win, give us more rare candies and golden raz (we cannot get these any other way, but by raids, some people are out of golden raz for the catch, I don't need potions and that many revive, can get those from pokestops, alternatively, give us golden raz and rare candies from spins)

Thanks Nick! Great video as usual, and welcome home! I'm trying to think of any ideas on how to make the EX Raids more accessible for people that might have to work during the time the raid is going on, because it will inevitably happen that people won't be able to make it due to work or other commitments (I am probably one of those people myself). Realistically, I know I couldn't and other people couldn't just not go into work or like take a break and drive to some random location to play a game. The notion of doing something like that is silly. So that kind of makes it impossible for people in those scenarios to ever get a chance to catch Mewtwo and I am sure this will be the case for a lot of players.
Here's my idea, maybe when you get invited to the EX Raid, it gives you three potential locations and dates/times that vary from one or two weekdays during high activity times (day or evening), and one or two weekend days (day or evening) - with no repeating options. For example it would say: (1) Gym A - Thursday at 11:00 AM (2) Gym B - Friday at 6:00 PM (3) Gym C - Saturday 2:00 PM - That way you have three options, with the possibility that at least one might work for your schedule. You select the one you want and you're locked into that date/time slot (if you miss it, that's too bad). You can even have a "I can't make it to any of these raids" button and when you click it (+ Are you sure? Yes.) it gives your current invitation to another player (so the raid will have enough players) and puts you in a queue to get another chance later.
If anyone else has any ideas, feel free to reply below so we can get a running list. Thanks!
Sounds a bit complicated. I think the time since raiding should just be extended from 24-48 hours to about a week. Perhaps extending the wait time to allow people to group together as well would be good.
JamesyHerald I agree I have no set work schedule so I think allowing this option would make it accessible to more people and not miss out if you have work at the time you are invited
AceofSpades GD It's really not that complicated. It's three options lol. I do think an extended time between the initial invitation and the raid would be useful, but that alone wouldn't help someone that has to work at the actual time of the raid. They would just have more time to consider skipping work I guess, lol. Thanks for your idea though!
Tiffany Nevarez Thanks! Yeah, right now it's hard for me to Raid at all, much less with a set time and date. It would be super difficult to ever make it work if it were on a weekday during business hours.
I mentioned in previous videos as well that I think it could be a good idea to extend Raid hours in general into the evening a little for players that are 18 years and up. That way Niantic doesn't run into safety issues with kids being out super late, but adult players have some time to Raid after work if they like.
Your intro music is so epic when you play the version with the slow build up. Also, every time I see lightning, I just think of Pikachu off in the distance, haha.
Not sure if I'm the only one but I really enjoyed the long intro with Ember playing in the background. It was like a nice throwback to the start of Pokémon Go when you used Kubbi's music a lot more!
Maybe EX raids could take place at gyms where a trainer has earned silver or gold badges. (I feel exclusively gold may be a bit of a stretch). That way, it shows a trainer has participated in that gym many times and it's also quite likely that they reside in that area or at least nearby.
Yes! Gold is a stretch, but yes - silvet badge. This way trainers can also prepare for EX raid when ever they have time because gyms are open 24/7. Getting the invitation by raids is difficult too because we as trainers cannot control when the raids pop up - all the raids could be done by the time trainer gets from work/school/whatever.

1 days notice? That's not enough time to ask off for work if you work a normal 9 hour job. Imagine if you get an EX pass and the raid happens in the middle of the day while your at work, or, if your not at work and do make it to the raid, and live in a rural area and only 2 or 3 other people show up.

Level 39 (nearly 40) from UK , I love the raid system in general but I live in a rural place and work a lot and find these ex raid completely unnecessary and unfair. There is no need for them I would rather mewtwo have a lower catch rate but appear in normal raids
Craig Rowe agreed! This all seems so unnecessary. Just make them crazy hard to catch but give everyone equal chance. This system is too exclusive. People have work, school etc. Plus what happens if the hype dies or the majority already caught one then the left over people are kind of screwed. Hope I'm wrong.

No, Nick, setting time in the middle of the day during weekday is not difficulty setting. Its inconvenient. If Niantic wants to make it difficult to catch, then make it ingame difficult, not outside world difficult. If you give someone a chance to catch a legendary exclusive, then at least don't rob him/her from actually making to the raid. I would laugh my arse off if I received an error when showing up to the raid :D :D

No, no they don't, it makes little difference anyway. Especially with Legendary Raid eggs, there's only one Legendary accessible at the moment depending on where you live, so it's still technically 2 hours. Also, stops you from being kicked out of a gym while fighting it by a raid boss, which was pointless and annoying...

I deslike it cause now spoofers take down the gym to get the type bonus, and we can't defend them anymore since there is a lack of golden berries.
Are you daft? The most annoying thing about No Eggs was that when I was battling a gym, it kicks me out. I'd rather know that a raid boss is coming than just randomly showing up. Maybe they should make the eggs pop up for 30 min until it hatches, and give 1h30mins for raiding.
I hate the Raid eggs. I'd much rather have a 2 hour timer on Ttar, than an hour egg just to find it's a blastoise or something useless.

I got my first Raikou in your country for my first visit and guess what?? I caught it 100% IV on second throw !!!!!!!!! Talking about Safari event, it sounds like a remake of what was done in August. I went oftenly to Les Quatres temps and could catch bunches of Uknow and Kangaskhan. Hope there will be something more than that.
One thing I don't get is that the EX raid symbols are Lugia heads
Nightfury 23 Rhydon was the first Pokémon ever created. In the main-series games, there are Rhydon statues in gyms and other important places. It's always been a little special.
Probably has to do with the fact that Lugia was the “first” legendary released in PoGo, technically.

For smaller communities that have to organise raid groups the eggs are a nightmare. It’s difficult enough to get numbers for raids when people know what the raid boss is but literally nobody will commit to a raid egg under Lv 5.
Also, I feel that either everyone will get an EX invite or barely anyone. The blind luck aspect of the invite process has completely disinterested me with raids. When the Mewtwo info first dropped I literally raided every gym in my area, and neighbouring areas to increase my chances. I’d be about 95% confident I won’t get Mewtwo at this stage though and I think a lot of daily players won’t either.
Level one to three raids are soloable and people will commit for legendaries. So you are calling eggs a nightmare only for level 4 raids?
Dominik Schmalstieg not all Lv 3 raids are soloable (and before you say you can solo jolteon, you can’t). Plus most people who play where I live aren’t at a high enough level to even solo the easier ones like Machamp/Gengar.
That still leaves a few questions:
How many players do you need for the lvl 3 raid which can't be soloed? Maybe finding another player to go raiding with will help. And why do you have to go for specifically those raids? Aren't there enough other raids that can be considered instead?
You might want to make many raids once mewtwo is definitely launched. But at some point, you might also have a limit of raid passes per day. I agree that there is a random factor in the EX invites at the moment, which will hopefully be tweaked in time (I don't like it either). But I fail to see the correlation to the eggs - unless you want to really go for every raid... but is that really worth the investment at the moment?

All the changes they have made to the gym lately is really kickin rural players in the face. I live over an hour away from the gyms that have good raids with this latest change I am screwd. Again.

You've been inspiring me to go out these past two weeks and catch Pokémon. So far I'm almost at level 23. I still can't catch Raikou, but I'm not giving up. It's hard when I'm the only person raiding. However someone jumped in today and helped me catch my first Electabuzz. I also hatched my first Scyther. Anyway I just want to say thanks. Keep creating great content. I hope someday I'll be as big as you.

Niantic, GET RID OF THE EGGS! If I see it, it means I'm there NOW. It doesn't mean I'm going to be there for hours! Many gyms have nothing to do around them to waste time for that long even if you want to...
yeah, they changed something server side, I'm getting error when starting raid battle again :( This time error message is longer with (33) at the end :(
muziqaz if I get that I have to clear app data and sign into Pokemon go as if it was freshly installed. After that relaunch right before every raid
chance the clock on you phone to automatic or server-time. this will help you sync with the other players. error 33 means your phone wants to start the raid too late or too early and the server will kick you
my phones are all on automatic network time, so that Niantic BS does not fly with me. I had around a month of problem free raids, and now suddenly I am getting out of sync errors?
What did help was deleting game data and cache. Now this kind of solution tells me that there is more to this error than out of sync clocks. How Niantic manages to fix the issue and suddenly break it again is beyond me. I have a suspicion they are doing it on purpose, since I lost countless premium raid passes, and with Niantics silent treatment policy good luck getting your money back. Yet they have an audacity to send me feedback email asking how did they do resolving my issue :D GG Niantic, well played

I saw that thunder storm in the beginning, I was playing with my band at the October fest in Calella at that time (a town a bit north from Barcelona) In the beginning it was so weird because you could see and hear the lightning but it was not raining. Then my band started playing just when the rain started, and half way through our last number the power went out because the rain had toasted one of the sockets.
I actually like the egg raids a lot better. Gives you enough time to gather up your friends, get your Pokémon ready, and to stock up on items. 👍

As far as the eggs, I don't like the egg concept. I prefer to have the 2 hour slots which lets me relay info to my groups via WhatsApp or Discord to coordinate a group raid.
The Mewtwo Invitation Raid is great. I do agree with making the Legendaries hard to catch and this helps you value them more (if the invites are coordinated correctly).
I strongly recommend that the raid invites are sent out primarily on weekends since a lot more people could join since their schedules would be more flexible...
I also tweeted to Niantic to not send Mewtwo invites to Florida over the next few days since most, if not all of us trainers are going to be bombarded with Hurricane Irma, so it wouldn't be fair to us.
I do hope they take this into account.

So you need to basically play every day (fight raids every day). And not only that, but you need to be lucky and fight the right gym. And not only that, you need at least 12 or so people in your area that do so too.. And not only that but you need to have time when the raid is going to happen.. and you must be lucky that all people that also are invited actually come..
What do they think the world outside of the US looks like?😅 Don't think that this will even have a chance to work, except in a few cities around the world. Rare is good, but damn this is way too rare.
I imagine someone investing so much time, and then waiting at the raid for 2 hours for someone to come, but only 2-4 people show up and they fail miserably. This would be such an ultimate kick in the balls/placenta.

So what happens if you get an invite and can't make the raid? Does that mean you get banned from the raids cause you couldn't make it? I mean, people work during the day, go to school, etc. It kind seems like they are encouraging kids to skip school. This system kinda sucks.

Keep in mind that in gen 3 games like Emerald moves are physical and special based on type. Dragon, Fire, Water, Electric, Psychic, Dark, Ice, and Grass are all special. So basically all eevee evolutions plus dragon are special.
So they give 50 balls for a 100% catch rate mewtwo, but only give a certain amount to a 6% catch rate one? Lol

Steven Gonzalez It would be consistent, too. All of the other raid bosses spawn in the wild. I'd make them incredibly rare (like unown outside of special events rare, it even rarer) but at least give people hope that it *could* happen to them!

actually, when the raid boss just appeared and stayed for 2h you could've just went for what you needed/wanted. Bringing back the eggs is, in my opinion, a serious nerf, for example, a lvl4 raid most want to be in are ttar/snorlax/lapras, but with the eggs you can waste your time and use the pass(free/paid) on something you don't need/want, which i just realised it's also a money grab move
Todd, if you SEE the Pokemon and can battle the entire time, how is it harder to coordinate? If you are getting a team together and you see the Pokemon you want, the team has about 1.5 hours to show up. With the eggs, you see the random egg and the team has the same amount of time to show up (not knowing what's inside) or they wait to see what's inside and have less than an hour to get there. So, no, the egg doesn't make it easier at all...

Agree, with the 2-hour raid, everyone would just pick battling Tyranitar, the other raids are ignored, which is not a good thing for new players and players who want variety. If the raid thing is predictable, people would get raid fatigue from it, because of chasing for Tyranitar every day.
Makes it harder to get a group in my area... that's one hour less to communicate and gather a group. (If it's not a legendary beast)

Lila DiMasi no. It's not. I'm a meteorologist. There is no such thing. It's just a thunderstorm too far in the distance to hear the thunder. The closest you get is lightning produced by a thunderstorm that forms over volcanic eruptions or intense forest fires.

I live in a north rural area, fall is making it difficult to raid, school/work is making it difficult to raid, and the few gyms far apart in my rural town. A solution could be to be invited to an ex raid if u did a raid in the past week.

The eggs make it harder to coordinate raids in rural areas. Nobody wants to head out to a level 4 boss without knowing if it is something special like a tyranitar or not.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying this to be rude or argumentative. I watch every one of your videos and you are my favorite Pokemon Go RUclipsr, but I click over to a different tab for all of the cinematics. I'm just letting you know there is a group (no idea of the percentage) of us that are just here for the info and it would save you a lot of work. Again, I'm sure there is a large group that love the drone shots and whatnot, and I'm not here to argue with them.

I agree Nick, I'm glad they brought the egg back as if you're in the area and it drops more people might be willing to wait, just not for an hour maybe, 30 minutes is fine. But before it just drops and if you already left most wouldn't be willing to turn around if they even knew one started. It also lets you see what kind of raid level it will be, if you see all low level, you don't have to wait or worry about sticking around to see if a legendary raid boss drops or a decent 4 star like T-tar. I do think they need to extend it from 1 hour raid time though. Like you said at least one and a half hours if not back to two, but keep the egg, but only for 30 minutes, an hours is way too long.
I like when the theme song starts like this it's more epic. Sorry I haven't been watching as much been working on stuff

Raid eggs give you the ability to get gym control bonus before the hatch, so its really useful in that manner but 100% agree a 30 min timer on the egg would be more than enough time

I GOT HIM!!!! 12 ball awarded, caught on fourth ball, Golden Raspberry, thrown just after the arm swing with the ball landing in the "Excellent" zone! Only 2 of our group of 10 trainers caught him. Those were about the usual "stats" for what were probably seven or eight groups. Thanks again!
