isn't it amazing how quiet people used to live? just birdsong and the people talking. no TVs, no music (especially not in a downstairs quarter like this one) and no phones. seems nice
I can imagine everyone working around each other, getting the meals out ready to go. And in the midst of it the butler is ironing the newspaper before it goes upstairs. This is my favorite one you have made. Amazing work.
exactly the type of videos I've been looking for! and I love that there are people in the background but it's not overpowering. I also really appreciate that you write out what sounds are in the video in the description, it's really nice!
I'm so glad to hear that you like what I've made; it always delights me when the things I enjoy can make other people happy, too. I love hearing human voices but find them distracting if they are too loud or distinct -- I'm glad you agree. :) And it's good to know that the description is helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind thoughts with me.
Thank you so much for your videos.... I love Downtown Abbey ❤️ and love the Victorian/Edwardian Era's! My favorite series!! Have watched it so many times! Thank you again.... finding your channel is a blessing for me 😊❤
Thank You; I LOVE "Downton Abbey" (Just saw the MOVIE with My Eldest Daughter (34) 2 wks Ago - Oct 21st) Yeah I'm one of Those "Kind of Dads"; But In REAL Life; I'm Ex-Biker Retired (20 yrs) Military; Who'd a Thunk IT, Huh ... Just Say'n ... “🍺 Dilly Dilly”❗️ (As I said Before; Your IMAGERY, Is AWESOME❗️)
Your comments have brought me such warmhearted smiles; I hope someone or something will offer the same joy to you that you've given to me. Your daughter is close to my age (I'm a bit older), and it delights me that the two of you can share Downton Abbey together. Thank you for being one of "those kinds of dads" -- I think every type of person from every background is able to make connections with loved ones and the past, as you so wonderfully demonstrate.
Maybe it's strange, but I tend to find myself much more drawn toward "downstairs" spaces in grand houses like this one rather than the luxuries "upstairs." I suppose I like feeling connected to humanity in the broadest and most beautifully ordinary sense. I understand why people might prefer the "upstairs," though! :)
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 Ambience of Yesteryear I completly understand! To me the fact that the show was both about the upper and lower class was that made it special. Though the upstairs are dreamy, I loved to follow the staff's life and evolution. And right, the downstairs felt warmer and more real in a beautiful and raw way 💕
A Follow Up to my Previous Post: your commitment to (Historical) Detail is Sublime; I half expected to see “Mrs. Patmore” walk In any Moment; She and Thomas (And begrudgingly “Lord Grantham & The Lady Dowager Countess Violet Crawley”) were My “4 Favorite Characters” throughout the “Entire Series & the Movie” … I will Watch THIS as a "Screen Saver" for Years To COME ... Just Say'n❗️
And I offer a follow-up "thank you" to you; your comments have made me even more grateful that I started this channel. If I made something you'd like to watch for years to come, that is a great honor for me.
Me too..... I love it when The The Dowager Countess asks at Dinner "what is a weekend?" when they've just met the new Heir Matthew Crawley and Isobel Crawley 😂😂😂 I love the series so much.... And both movies.... Theatrical and A new Era 😊❤
Please accept my warmest welcome to my channel. :) When I started, I had no idea that anyone would want to subscribe, so I am shocked by and grateful for every new subscriber. Thank you for your very kind comment, and welcome again.
Hey this is lovely to listen to, a huge fan of Downton abbey :-) so thank you. Your ambience videos are so good! If anyone other listeners are interested, listen to this video and combine it with the video Downton Abbey | Downton Abbey Ambience and Music | 1 hour by Ambient Being I personally think it fits perfectly with this video and you feel like you are in an episode of Downton Abbey :-) x
Rule Britannia plays in the back round. i say this is jolly good, takes a sip of tea, real top's jolly good. Downton Addey Fanfiction crossover with Harry potter. Hogwarts and the Manor House mix together. the Servers and the house Elf's Work are making the food in this kitchen.
Hey. I was wondering if the image was created by you. There is another channel which has used the same image, only more dimmed, for their ambience video and since neither of you has given credits, so I thought I might ask.
It is good of you to ask. I've worked with a photograph that is free for public use as the basis for this video, which I have then modified with my own elements (the fire, the sunlight, the sun, etc.). I am sure that the other channel has simply used the same free source image as I have (without the specific modifications that I've added). I hope that puts your mind at ease. :)
I love your videos, but so many of them have the crackling fireplace and with all the recent fires, its not very comforting, can you please remake some of these scenes without them? Especially interested in Victorian, study, and Rennaisance styles.
While this is wonderful, that's a whole lot of burning wood being wasted in that unattended stove. I happen to know that Victorians and Edwardians in service were VERY conservative with fuel for wood and coal burning stoves, so much so that menus were planned out so that multiple courses could be cooked when the oven was at its hottest and then with the residual heat from the oven slowly cooling down. Maybe for realism, show some gently glowing coals next time?
Oh, perhaps I should clarify that I take quite a lot of liberties with the ambiences I create; they're intended to be pretty, pleasing to the senses, and historically inspired rather than strict documentary insights into the past. I agree that glowing embers would be more accurate, but a fire is more pleasing to my eye, and the crackling of flames is more pleasing to my ear. Obviously, too, that's not even how an Edwardian cooking range would look -- there would be no uncovered flames or embers at the bottom right corner -- but I thought the fire looked nice there, so I added it. :)

Very Lovely with Beautifull Birdsong and Sound Effects.
Kitchen of my dreams... At least I can "visit" this one whenever I would like!
Yes, please do stop by any time! ;)

I agree!! I was looking for something just like this to read to, and it's perfect. Atmospheric but not overpowering.

Soup' s on and I'm making bread.
Fabulous! I think I'd make chicken soup with a slow-rise white bread. Please do feel free to share your menu if you'd like to. :)
The work bench is awesome. Plenty of room to prepare foods. Good for taking out cooked food then putting uncooked food immediately in.
