I hunt in Eastern Washington. I wear the Obsidian Merino pants when I turkey hunt and in the Oct Deer season. If I hunt the late deer season I wear the New catalyst soft shell pants. I wore the Catalyst soft shell for late deer season in Nov 2018 in 20 degree weather and was super comfortable. Didn't even need to wear a base layer.
Great video. I switched from cotton to merino last year and can't believe i waited so long. I have a pair of obsidion pants and I really love them. Now it looks like I will be picking up a pair of the corrugat guide pants too
I bought a few different pairs of first lite pants and im very disappointed with them. They are very comfortable but not durable at all. I wore them scouting and I ripped a hole in the seat just sitting down on dirt and scooting around a little just to get comfortable. I walked through a field of foxtail weeds and they shredded my pants around the ankles.
Just tell me where the belt rises and if the inseam is where it should be. What I mean the crouch should not have 3 to 5 extra inches of material so that ya got to yank on a pocket to step up high or take off running. The knees pads will then also be in the right place.
Don't buy the Obsidian Merino pants. They're awesome until you've hiked about 50 miles. By that time they'll be wearing out in the crotch. Check their website reviews, a lot of people have had the same experience.
I got a buck wearing red head gear....... under 200 bucks for bib and coat. Hunting at around 10-15C below zero. Will I be guaranteed to shoot a 185 plus buck every year if I own this gear??
@@jhamelin119 you guys never spell Creedmoor correctly. More importantly, though, both Sitka and FirstLite heavily market to bowhunters. Good patterns and quiet fabric are kinda pointless for gun season.
@@sauerkrautjr ...........if your sitting in the bush, hiking in, spot and stalk, or still hunting. Good camo/quiet material is important i will agree. But....... if your sitting in a hut, shack, or luxury blind. You can hunt in your wives lingerie if youd like.
Guide lite pants are not good at all they are not durable and not design for people that squat heavy. Everything pokes right through. Misleading. I love and rock everything first lite but not pants. Lol

Love my obsidians and corrugate guide pants for hunting, travel and dairy wear. Currogates were awesome for archery season in Colorado
Deciding between those two pants. Are the obsidians pretty tough or are the corrugates much tougher? Can’t make my mind up.
Obsidians get crotch blown out often. Awesome idea, horrible performance
Damn near every pant is made from the same, described the same, could be used in any weather, any time of year. Great distinction between pants.
what is the black shirt you are wearing?
does the coregete guide pant come in 30 inch lenght and are those pant good for warm mild archrey season weather
i love my corrugate pants, always my goto for any time of year but kanab's will never get thrown away. Will the obsidian replace the kanab?
Are they noisy?

I would call them. That sounds like a problem they would gladly take care of for you.
I've heard of the obsidians ripping but not the nylon ones
Were you twerking your ass in the dirt? Sounds like a you problem
@@robertcerda92 still sounds like a you problem
Any plans to make the Obsidians in women's sizes?
I think they have them now
@@FluffyBuzzard2TheMax Just in time since we can't leave the house anymore! 😂 But thanks for letting me know.

Are the obsidians water resistant? I'm sure they dry out quick being wool.
Jesse hollowell they are not water resistant.
Great information!

So are the corrugates noisy?
No so much as the Obsidians are incredibly silent.
Not at all. Super comfortable as well.

Great a $200 pant !!
Shame the corrugate foundry pant is noisy as hell!
With that price and they are made in china...I won't buy it again...I thought they are made in usa...I bought one I regretted it

first lite is a joke. Customer service is a joke. Product sizing is a joke. Product quality is a joke.
