I follow you on Instagram....log the book length tip ...putting shot on hook length is no problem if you put on when making...and okay when fishing ...because when the line stretches the line gets thinner inside the cube or shot....long hook length were common in the 70,s.
The only problem with no hooklength is that if your line breaks you need to replace the full rig. With a long hooklength you just need to replace that and add a shot.

Do you think a straight through rig with 2lb line would be good for winter then there will not be eni loops
