Having driven these in the 438 (swingfire) guise back in the 70's one point to note the tillers are back towards the seat when the vehicle is stopped due to the top of the tillers have the "hand brake" buttons in the top .....also those compartments you say are storage are in fact the two fuel tanks!!!!
Ian Robb thanks for the info I was never a driver or had much to do with these except when we did barmine training which very rare. So apologies for some incorrect info i gave here.
Great progress Craig and that has to be the most realistic interior that I have ever seen. The level of detail is superb and is very impressive. I will be putting this puppy on my list and hopefully pick it up in the next few months. I just wish that they would bring the FV434 out as well and I could have a REME party around a Chieftain getting it's pack out. Hope to see more of this build soon. Have fun Craig and steer clear of that blade mate, Joe
oh im with ya on the 434 lol dont forget to add the scale 1/35 beer crates the reme fairies charge ya for coming to help :-/ damn reccy mechs lol and ill defo make sure to stay away from xactos with a dna appitite lol
Loved my old biccie boxes, solid, reliable, plenty of room for a Sapper section (unless you had the ranger on the roof, but that wagon rarely had more than a commander and driver). We abused them in the good old days of BAOR. Heavily loaded, dragging bar mine layers.
it took me maybe a couple of hours to get to this point bud, bearing in mind glue drying and cleaning up the pieces and 4 million stitches in the thumb lol yup i would say 2hrs max bud. like i said its not very big and it goes to gether really easy up to this point, also at this point you have paint the interior before you glue any of the super structure on so thats what im doing now so add a couple more hours on to that aswell for painting .
Hi luvving the build, just a couple of points, I seem to remember when the vehicle is at rest the tillers are both back against the drivers seat, and unless it's a command vehicle it should only have two clansman sets?
yup on both counts bud, there are a few inaccuracies on the kit bud, ref the tillers i think if you were to try and put a figure in you wouldnt be able to have the tillers in anyway, however i do not think a stand 1/35 driver would fit esp as you would need his legs on as you can see under the seat. also ref the tillers you cant really see them anyway not from the back not from the top or really through the drivers hatch i think its more you know their there. but it does build in to a nice representation. i dont think i would buy a 2nd one but i will buy the bulldog when it comes out.
Mottys Military Models - Steve Mottram with the R.A. ...we had the 438 after the R.A.C was stripped of them only for the top brass to return the anti-tank role back to the R.A.C. again in the mid 80's...
yup your right peter thank you for pointing that out for all the time ive been in them ive never actually driven the thing i assumed it was a brake pedal so thats my bad ;)

Craig, just a bit of info for you, the 2 big "boxes" either side the rear door are the fuel tanks. Nice build mate.
thanks bud yup its been a while since i have been in one of these so thanks for the reminder bud on the fuel tanks :)
Aha I was about to comment that :)
I would offer that the detail isn't wasted since you'll know how good it was/is.
thank you mate

Looks like a very nice kit, great job so far and this is really a kit i want to get my hands on. Thanks for the upload.
no problem marcel i hope you enjoy it as much as i am bud :)
my platoon used these when i was in the army from 1990-1995. Kept breaking down... so cramped inside... hated them.
sorry bud i have only just seen your comment my bad, our did aswell very rarely used them

Also there was no foot brake that's the accelerator. ..the brakes are actuated by the tillers!!!
I,m hoping they do the 434 and maybe the swingfire.
im hoping for the 434 aswell bud i would of prefered that to the 432 to be honest
Was just watching your inbox review earlier, then this popped up. Looks great! How long to get it to this point?
