    I'm just about to convert a van exactly like yours, as a chick this is quite intimidating... you made me feel really excited - nice work bro. :-)

      Ashleigh Dodd thanks for the comment. hope you have fun doing yours. just be ready to put things up take things down etc. I had a plan I wanted to stick to, but as the build went on things changed so much. so scrap plans just go with what ever fits. should be a new vid coming soon.

    Lol, just after I commented on one of your other wild camping vids about me getting a campervan as some sort of compromise, I find you with one ha❗

    Have been doing a conversion on mine too (not as impressive as yours) in preparation for a coast-coast road trip... only to find out that there's a recall issue with these Transit Vans (2015-2017).
    Some old VW buses are still humming (rattling and squeaking) along. Good luck! And keep an eye on your Giudo Disk* as that's where the problem is.

    Cool video. When you are screwing your wooden boards to the vans wall is it directly into the metal and what screws are you using? keep the videos coming looking good.

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  8 лет назад

      ozzy over here thanks for the comment. there 25mm × 4mm screws, I drilled a pilot holes for every screw and used a 2mm metal drill bit, which yes just drilled straight into the braces in the side on the van. I will be doing a video this weekend as the van has come on a long way and not had a chance to film a great deal. any questions please feel free to ask. justin.

    Alright mate, where do you screw into exactly, don't the nails come out the otherside? Sorry if my questions stupid haha

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  8 лет назад +2

      Thomas Lyons not a stupid question at all, so basically in the video anywhere that isn't insulated is ok to screw the ply to. just make sure the screws arnt to long. 25mm or 1 inch screws are fine. I per drilled all the screws first with a 2mm diameter metal drill bit. hope this helps any more questions please feel free to ask. and don't think your questions are stupid it's all good, just glad I could help. cheers

    So Cool! My wife and I have been talking about outfitting a Ford Transit for about a year now. Exciting to see the progress. Are you able to stay warm when sleeping in the van in the winter? Can you heat it somehow?

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  6 лет назад +1

      Smell The Pines in England our winters and never as cold as yours. If you were to put a erbaspacher heater that runs from your fuel tank then that would keep you warm. I just use a decent sleeping bag and that does me fine. But negative 20..... No thank you, defo get a heater.

    what did you anchor the bench to so it doesn't move? into the beams through the boards?

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  7 лет назад +1

      illi Jo Diverse the bed is a solid frame, so if i ever need the van for work etc everything can be taken out easily. just two screws into the board on the walls and two into the ply that's on the floor. and the same priciple for the units at the back of the van. thanks for watching and hope this helps.

    how did it work out with the insulation was it warm enough ?

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  8 лет назад +1

      CORRIGEEN71 hi there, thanks for the comment. it defiantly makes a difference between the temprature of the inside and outside, but I wouldn't say it's warm. All depends on the weather outside really. I've stayed in the van when it's been -3 and only stayed warm because I have a decent sleeping bag. should really put a heater in there.

    What material did you use for the wall

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  7 лет назад +1

      kristan oppersma hi buddy I used a non itch insulation and over that it was 3mm thick mdf boarding and to finish van lining carpet, which I got from eBay 20sq roll with ten cans of spray adhesive and still have carpet to spare and at least 3 cans of adhesive left. Hope this helps.

    Wrong insulation material, these will create damp = mould

    • @justoutdoors2591
      @justoutdoors2591  6 лет назад

      Sorry but your wrong.... I've recently taken the rear panels and side panels off to change some lighting and not a spot of damp.. Not even condensation. This is why I have vents that run along the bottom of the van and also along the tongue and groove I put on the ceiling. Soz
