Citizenship is not always about the blood or nationality from the parents. It's in their law that if u are born in their territory you are an Australian. Just like the US - anyone born in US territories are American citizens. Do you know the issue about gabby Lopez? Even though his parents are both Filipinos, he is still an American because it is in the law of USA. Same goes with Australia. I am a Pinoy anyway. No hate. Just FYI.
@@simplycdgd maybe yes. But You can't win because of your citizenship documents. If you have filipino blood in your veins, you always strong candidate in any pageants. Remember Ph is one of the powerhouse of Beauty pageants.
Pls learn more about JUS SANGUINIS and JUS SOLIS for more INFO😂 Makapagsalita lang
@@candies33 Are you dumb? There is NO such thing as Australian blood unless you're part of the indigenous population. EVERY non indigenous person in Australia INCLUDING white Australians, are ancestors of immigrants. So Catriona Gray is still very much 100% Australian.
Filipino Pride 😍
Dont blame the nationality since many contestants are like that in every miss pageant, not only Philippines (-,-) And, we won as one not for Philippines itself but also for Australia and Asia... Dont feel selfish minded (-_°)
She thought katriona was a huge threat to her, where in fact katriona was there to claim the coveted crown. In return did katriona even think a lil threat to francesca? I don't think so?
Well, Miss Australia sucks tho. Miss Australia wasn't even on Catriona's radar.

She was raised and born in Australia but she has the heart of a Filipino thats why she carrier the flag of the philippines. BTW, Miss Australia is one of the critic of those non English speaking contestants...lols
Wow i remember many Australians went berserk on the internet at that time !! Lol

The witches of Miss Universe 2018 are Misses Australia, Colombia and USA!
Haha
Cat’s nature is pure Filipino....in Luding her witty and beauty inside and out
Miss Australia has no shade of humility, therefore she does not deserve even the top 20 spot and was never a threat to Miss Catriona.
Technically Miss Philippines is not half Australian,,,her Dad is a Scottish by blood living in Australia, an immigrant and so her Australian residency and citizenship is what makes her a half Australian.
But she represent the Philippines that australia oky from thailand
Catriona is Filipino-Scottish by blood. Her mother is Filipina, and her father is a Scottish immigrant to Australia. That’s why she was born in Australia, and when she was born there she gained Australian citizenship. But Catriona lost that when she represented the Philippines in Miss World 2016.
But still she's miss Philippines
@@xfinity319 She is a citizen of both countries even during her miss universe journey. The Miss universe competition itself sees nothing wrong with mixed race contestants. If a candidate representing her home country is acknowledged by the government as a citizen, she is eligible. Okay?
@@Diego25374 How many times do I have to repeat myself to ignorant people like you, that you CANNOT, represent the Philippines internationally by having dual citizenship. It is by law, that a representative of the Philippines must be of Filipino citizenship ONLY.

She never had Aussie blood even tho she born and raise there but she never had Aussie blood she still filipino-Scottish
She is a sweet girl, same thing with USA. The issue was blown out of proportion. Still, she deserved her placement. 2018 was a very competitive batch.

Viva Philippines we love you Catriona 🎉😭
Yeah she was your biggest threat. Yeah right. But in my eyes, you were not even a threat to her! Catriona was the winner from day 1!
Did you understood the title? Clearly it says that Miss Aussie's biggest threat is Miss Philippines not Vice versa
Ken Rize i did! But i find miss australia not even worthy to call catriona a threat, if she was nowhere near catriona’s caliber.
In tennis, it is like maria sharapova calling serena williams a threat or a rival but if you take a look at their so called “rivalry” sharapova has never beaten serena since the bush administration.
For me, in my opinion ( just like how you have your own opinion) Miss australia can only call catriona her threat if she herself is s worthy threat to catriona. And she is nowhere near that level. You cannot call it a threat or a rival if the opponent could not even give the other a run for her money. The person/s who can call catriona as a “ threat” is either miss south africa or miss venezuela. There.
@@rrhotj bitch do not. Just do not Even think of disrespecting Maria sharapova ever again. There's no need for you to bring her name into this. Thats so fucking random wtf! Serena fans are the ugliest, most insecure creatures in this planet.
@Ken Bugawisan nopeeeeeee i disagree... Catriona had the ability and talents, but without hardwork itll be nothing.. the reason why phil were a powerhouse of beauty pageants its simply because of their coaches who share them their knowledge and advices on how to answer questions effectively...before the coronataion , catriona did a hell of a training on how to captivate Audience with her walk and how to answer question concisely..... So if catriona represents Australia, its not guaranteed that shell win, because we all know that Australia is not that known in having good coach and training for their candidate, thats why they are not known as a strong contender in miss u...( Sorry for bad english)
@@malarkist3056 it is what you call “facts” baby. With a head to head of sharapova -3-20 williams (and one of her wins a walkover) Maria has never beaten serena properly since two thousand forgotten. So yeah there is no “ rivalry.” Justine Henin, at a close 6-8 head to head with serena, where she beat serena in grand slams too, IS A RIVALRY.
Catriona gray pride of scotland

Sorry but to y'all Filipinos in the comment section. This girl Miss Australia is reaching. Pero mali kayo, umayos kayo. Race or descent is different from your nationality. Her dad is an Aussie, she also is an Aussie. She is an Filipina-Australian, double citizenship.
The same goes that there are black (Negroid) Americans and white (Caucasian) Americans. Her dad's descent is Scottish but he is Australian. He is still Australian.
Correction, Catriona Gray, is half filipina, & half scottish, eith out any australian blood, use your common sense.
