Blue Star: Massive MASSIVE increase to all powers +New powers on top+ Loses weskness to kryptonite Quasar: Everything from a blue star XXXX Including even more additional powers. I think is just a representation of his natural bio-electric aura, that thing the writers gave him in most comics that protects him from a lot of things except magic and allows him to move as fast without breaking the laws of physics.
Yea but it didn't look like he was actually using electricity, they should have visualized it as a flame-like aura like in DB or HxH because it would have achieved the same effect while actually fitting with Clarks solar power set
Honestly, i think its cool, it feels like either a new visual to indicate his powers being used, or even possibly adding a new twist to the superman formula
My theory is that it isn't actually electric powers, but a visualization of him temporarily releasing his self imposed limiters. I recall back in the day it was explained that when Clark first found out what he was the trauma of the realization caused him to subconciously lock away a portion of his powers out of fear, but when he gets a good enough adrenalin surge or is pushed to his limits he unlocks his true potential just for a moment, and the light up effect is mostly for the audience

My favorite Goku speech is the “I feel like I live in a world of cardboard” speech Also, When Uncle Jiraya said to Naruto “with great power comes with great responsibility”
Haven't they explained that a part of how Superman's powers work in the comics is based on his bioelectric field? We all have one, but his has special abilities. It's why he's able to lift things in ways that seem to ignore physics, because his bioelectric field expands to encompass portions of what he's touching and strengthen it. That's why he can stop a falling airplane by pushing on the nose when physics would have his hands just puncture through the nose with the amount of force being applied to such a small surface area.
The comic book explanation is "tactile telekinesis." Basically Superman, Kryptonians, and the Superboy clone all have telekinesis which explains their flight, part of their invulnerability, and the reason they can pick up large objects without them breaking. This telekinesis is not consciously controlled. Every time this gets explained it is very short and shallow.
With a man that can shoot lazer beams out of his eyes, has ice breath, and can somehow turn his logo into a blanket to catch enemies... yeah, I don't think having electricity powers is too off base.
When you think about it, it makes quite a bit of sense, given that energy is just the capacity of strength. He gets his power through the sun, with enough power to level a city, he’s basically a superconductor.
Man it's crazy. It's almost like this was established not to be the mainline Superman and is free to have his powers either be different or be portrayed in a different way. Wild
The reason I don’t love it personally is cause it makes Shazam seem even more redundant, if anything the version’s of WW where Zeus is her father makes more sense to have lightning thematically speaking
Only saw episode 1, but it looked more like some kind of energy that symbolised when his body gained a new power, like when he got his speed and flight as a kid, and when he became stronger to take on the robot. It’s like a stylised take on his body becoming stronger. Of course, I could be way off, but I see no problem with it.
He doesn’t have electricity powers lmao, it’s just meant to show that he’s becoming more powerful, like in the comics, hiding his powers for so long made them weak, but finally exercising them again gets them stronger.
The suit scene looking like an anime transformation is only when the ship custom makes it for him, for the rest of the show, it is treated like an actual suit

I think it’s just a stylistic choice tbh. It could be a cool Superman Blue Easter Egg/reference/tease (which is what I originally thought) and yeah Superman’s chest emblem looks more like Jon’s, but it also adds some really neat visual flair to something that might need that extra oomph.
@@lazyking8445 I don't think that had anything to do with the lightning, though. I think Clark is just reawakening his Kryptonian heritage/powers (which I believe is even signified by that brief strange "vision" he gets). Like on the third/latest episode, a similar thing happened when he gets his heat vision. Guess we'll just have to wait and find out tho :)
Superman has always had power creep. At one point his flying was said to be a form of telekinetic levitation and suddenly he was moving things around with his mind. Eventually a new writer always comes along and wipes the slate back to factory settings.
That's actually the Flash. Speed force is such a bs Mcguffin that he managed to out-sped a guy that was teleporting instantly. So it's more instant than instant transfer.
Superman has always had whatever power the writer felt like adding. In his original conception, he was super strong, could jump really high, and run fast. Fast forward a few years and he can straight up fly and shoot lasers out of his god damn eyes. Hell, at some point, someone thought it would be cool if he could freeze things with his breath, and now that's something he does from time to time. I think giving him electricity powers is par for the course at this point.
Its not really that simple, while yes some writers did just give him random powers for the sake of it a lot of his iconic powers were just extensions of his old ones. Flight was added because it was easier to animate than constant jumping. Laser eyes were originally just the heat from his xray vision, freeze breath is just the extension of his super breath from his super strong lungs.
Not really, because Superman with those powers was the first to have it. Have electricity powers is just overdone with the amount of Comic book characters we have.
I remember for a time Superman was psychic. As in all his powers stemmed from some sort of psychic ability. His super strength was zero point telekinesis. Flight was levitation. Heat vision and ice breath were pyrokinesis and cryokinesis. Compared to that having these energy powers isn’t too out there.
@@bladegerm that's cause shitty writers can't write for shit. And they wonder why nobody cares they are on strike lol. At this point I welcome AI to replace all these crappy writers because it will probably be a lot better than them.
Listen I think this “Superman” in the adventures is actually superboy from another time it only makes sense tbh especially since he possesses more of Jon’s feats then Clark’s
The way I view how they are depicting this version of Superman is at the moment he does not have his full power and in moments of stress, he breaks through his limits rather than have access to them full time. This was why he was having such a tough time with the robots till he is able to break through those limits. It's an interesting take on the character but in my opinion, he is an adult and should have access to his full powers already. Traditionally Superman's greatest struggle was limiting his power even when appearing as Supermen or as Clark. Giving him an artificial cap on his powers seems redundant.
But what if he was limited at first but in the future he becomes too strong that he purposele limits it, i thinks thats a great idea i mean a kid that can create earthquakes is harmful for the environment

What I think is that people hate what is new or things what seem to be new. We like if things don’t change especially if the changes is unnatural or seems to be unnatural.
I always figured it was an expression of his bioelectric aura. When Superman starts out, he's just really strong and fast which is due to his dense Kryptonian biology but once he stores up enough energy on earth, he develops his bioelectric aura that gives him his extra powers like flight and I assume this also makes him faster and stronger because, in order to fly the way he does, he'd need to manipulate space time.

@@-carpet-by that logic couldn’t you argue that the electricity powers work because of his ability to absorb energy from the sun.
I remember for a time Superman was psychic. As in all his powers stemmed from some sort of psychic ability. His super strength was zero point telekinesis. Flight was levitation. Heat vision and ice breath were pyrokinesis and cryokinesis.

I think this is actually a cool way to bring a fresh take to Superman without making it just "lol he's evil" for the 15th time
The way I view how they are depicting this version of Superman is at the moment he does not have his full power and in moments of stress, he breaks through his limits rather than have access to them full time.

This is my own head canon though. Idk if that's for sure what the writers were going for.
