theres a airbag recall for that gen mazda 3. you can get a brand new steering wheel airbag and cover for free. i just brought mine in a month ago.
If you’re talking about the Takata airbags that’s only on the Mazdaspeed 6s not the Mazdaspeed 3s
I haven't gotten anything in the mail for an airbag recall on my Speed 3.
Recall is for the airbag cover since they received reports that the badge particularly would explode into shrapnel once the airbags deployed. Got mine done as well a few months ago. Looks nice.
@@StealthySnake802 I may just get a hold of Mazda then. I actually have a Speed 3 as well as a naturally aspirated Mazda 3. The one in my Mazda 3 needs to be replaced anyways. Because it was in a front end collision and I never fixed the airbag. LOL
@@StealthySnake802 it only applies to 2004-2007 apparently.
I don't have a Mazda, but I watch these anyway. chillest car videos out there.
Good to see you working on a Mazdaspeed again! Great series. I think my favorite part is the reassurance you give to the audience that they can do this stuff as well. This stuff can be really intimidating, but with some patience, confidence, and the right tools, it's actually really accessible (mostly). Keep it up!
So happy to have found a mazdaspeed content creator.
Y’all inspiring me to start on my first gen !!!
Do it bruh people love my 1st gen especially with the intake/bov
I have a CST4 put on my gen 1, 334 whp and 366 torque. You should put that turbo on this give away it spools fast. It's a killer turbo the new owner will love you.
Nice work fellas, she’s coming along!
I would want this for my GS350.
I'm actually running the JBR custom cold air intake on my 1st gen. Nice looking piece 🤌🤌🤌
Same. Stock size jbr on my gen 2 and sounds great.
@@TheRealMrRoyal nice. On Instagram? Would love to follow along with the build. Unfortunately mine, due to unprofessional shops locally, had been out of commission since July 2020. BUT it's at a new shop that will hopefully have it back up and running in next few weeks. Had a TON of goodies installed on it (including that cold air intake from jbr) but I've never even heard the car run with it all installed.... So yea 🤦♂️🤷♂️🙄
loving this build so far! I hope to see more upgrades soon like damond motor mounts, damond PCV plate with a catchcan, cobb front mount kit, Corksport turbo upgrade, maybe even a short shifter.
the mazdaspeed stock shifter snaps alot
Starting to miss my MS3 watching these videos
Dude not gonna lie you should take the valve cover off and clean it and wrap it if you still have some I think that would look dope or even just paint it but I think wrapping it in pearl white would add a nice touch to it
Time for an exhaust!
once that downpipe is on, its gonna move. And of course, getting that 51r battery and ecu relocation it'll look cleaner lol.
Went with the Hi Tuned Performance battery relocation on mine and love how it turned out
Hi Cameron, I’ve watched this series like 3 times. I have a Gen 1 myself. Is there any reason why you didn’t use any CorkSport parts for this build? What do you think about them? Is there anything you would do differently if you build another MS3?
I think it has some sort of bad blood. The logos are very similar idk if that had something to do with it
Love this series 🙌🏽🔥
Just curious, I’m not sure if you’ve mentioned this yet but how many kilometres are on this car? I guess miles for y’all across the border from me.
look at the first video when they buy it i think i heard
180k miles but not sure
Jesus, that's a lot of miles to be adding performance parts to.
Is there a intercooler upgrade for this mazda yall panning on doing? Very excited to see the end result.
Also would like to know
Yes we’ve upgraded it already 🤫 video will be coming soon
@@Randallpullen123 BRO LETS GOOOOOO
@@Randallpullen123 🔥🔥🔥
you need to do a canyon run with this !!!
While raining!
Hey when is the rally race day video in the Mazda speed 3 coming out, or did the Mazda end up not being able to run for the race
Sound great love the videos!!
You guys making a big deal but its a hex ~drive~ socket head. Hex head would be the bolts with the hexagon shaped head. Socket head can be torx or hex driven. I believe torx is also brand name too. So star I guess would be generic name for that drive? Same deal with alen drive vs hex drive. Brand name vs generic name I believe. So just call it an Allen lol same diff
Whats the pipe, filter name and zize, what you recommended for my 2010 Mazda Speed 3 2.3L
I have an 08 true red speed 3 . Sadly broken down for about 2 years :/ . I would love to win ! . Goodluck everyone
😮💨 going sooo well
Got me missing my focus st 🥲
I’m working on my first gen and was wondering what mechanic shop manual you used. Most of the work I’m doing is on the engine to so I found it easier to use an online 2nd gen shop manual.
I came for the Mustang, and am staying for the VW and Mazdaspeed!
Let's gooooo this is sick man
Only intake noise without bov?
Yay!
What are your thoughts on using Versatune instead of Cobb AP?
Hey man I’m fixing up my 2012 Mazdaspeed 3 do you have any flywheel bolts or if not know somewhere that I can get some ?
When did the mazda become white
Just throw a high quality catch can on the car to take care of the PCV system
just swapped my turb and dear lord it was a hassle to get out and in...
Don't over-do silicone on anything intake related or in general. Silicone when it burns destroys catalytic converters.
who runs cats now a days lol
Green coolant on a mazda??
Yes they take green
@@willg125 my 2010 speed3 doesn't. Uses blue.
3.5" is way to big for stock power. Up to 400whp, 3" gives no loss of power from 3.5", and gives more power when stock. Over 400whp, that's when you move on to 3.5". Be careful with 99% of the intakes on the market for the mazdaspeed3, because they are less than 3", and will rob you of power.
You sound like you know what you’re talking about. What brand of intake would you recommend? I don’t plan on getting a tune just yet so I’d probably be better getting a SRI right?
@@stormb3948 The best 3" cold air intake was the CPe cold air intake. Unfortunately, it's out of production. If you find a used one, then jump on it. You don't need a tune for just an intake, unless the MAF housing is larger than stock, which 99% of intakes for the speed3 have a stock sized MAF housing. For the CPe, they used 3" piping, but the MAF housing came down to 2.75" stock size. So, to pickup a lil power (but up to 30hp when you are full boltons, because it's the biggest restriction at that pt), you would cut that section out and replace it with a 3" MAF housing to match the piping, using couplers on both ends, and then get a tune for the MAF housing change. The next best is the JBR cold air intake. But they have some odd names and size combinations. Their odd naming convention includes stages, like stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage T101, and T1000... oh, oops, scratch the last two, those are Terminators. Seriously though, with their setup you want an intake that starts at the turbo and goes all the way down and into the bumper area. And make sure it's all 3". Since it can be built in pieces, buy a stock sized MAF housing. Then later, you can buy a 3" MAF housing when you're ready for a tune. And that brings up another topic, the piece between the factory airbox and the turbo, I call it part of the intake, but others call it the turbo inlet pipe. Make sure that section is also replaced with a 3". Lastly, when the car was new, the dealer sold a cold air intake, and it gave 20hp and was included in the warranty, if you bought it and had them install it. I think it was like $600+ installed. Which leads to my final conclusion... that yes indeed a cold air intake makes a ton of power over a short ram intake (short ram gives practically nothing due to heat soak, because cold=hp, hot=loss of hp, when it comes air into the motor). Do not throw your money away on a short ram intake, do it right with a cold air intake , or don't do it at all. Enjoy.
Edit: As a bonus, with a 3" intake and/or turbo inlet pipe, you don't need to relocate the ECU and/or get a new battery box. That's overkill. If you're going for over 400whp, then you might want to skip over to the Mazdaspeed6 with AWD. So, I really don't ever see a good case for a 3.5" intake on a Speed3. The cool sounds are very much there with a full 3" intake, but not so much with a 2.75".
@@copperkeyracing6167 You’re a legend, thanks for the detailed reply! Lots of good info in there, I’ve taken a screenshot to refer back to. I’ll take your advice and go with a 3” CAI with stock MAF size and then upgrade when I’m ready for the tune. Thanks again 🤝
Well its actually an allen head but you know the people make up their own names and then want you to call it something else.
Some folks get sad if you call it the wrong thing 💁🏼
@@Randallpullen123 allen key was generally the first word used for hex keys as the company who originally made them was called the allen company hence allen key but the new general term is hex key also the tools used are allen wrenches
Also, don't confuse the 12pt and triple square 😉
Do not get JBR motor mounts! Get Damond!
Damond 👌🏼 had their trans and passenger mount on my focus st.
